    Thankyou once again, I re-calibrated my machine CM900 following your step by step and i now have perfect cuts, i tried 1st with +4 perfect and then with 0 and perfect inside cuts i'm absolutely delighted as now i can confidently cut images and if i need to know how to re-calibrate. My machine has been off since i had it 2 years ago and so stayed away from cutting images now i can cut away to my hearts content.

    So relieved to read it’s not just my machine that doesn’t save the alignment settings I set from reading the comments on here. I bought a 2nd hand cm700 almost 2’weeks primarily to save me buying matching dies for my stamps and avoid fussy cutting. The cut is always off! I’ve re-aligned many, many times and bought a new blade and mats as suggested by brother to help me with this problem - makes no difference! Brother are baffled too!! Also my new mats both sometimes slip to the right whilst cutting! So frustrating. I have 30 days after receipt to return it (eBay) & after reading other people’s issues on this thread, think I should return it as not even brother can offer a solution that works :/

    Hi. I have this machine and am having this exact same problem. It all of a sudden started doing that, it didn't do it before. I already followed your step by step, but it's not working, still cutting more on one side 😢. Very frustrating. Also, my mat seems to load properly, but mid way in, it slightly tends to move, I don't know, this might be what's causing my uneven cuts. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 лет назад +1

      Crafting Parties Before I figured out the alignment feature, I used to change from Direct Cut to Scan to Cut Data. Then, without removing the mat, I would cut out the saved data and it worked like a charm. The only problem is that my images, while perfect, didn’t have and outline distance. My other tip is cut some patterned paper, the realign, then go back to cutting stamped images. I may be superstitious but I feel like changing jobs works and then the machine cooperates when I go back to my original task.

    Thank you 😊 50% there at least after sleepless nights lol. I’ve been having trouble with with my new cm900 cutting a simple oval around 10 images and it was very far out 😱 luckily I’ve got lots of spares phew 😅. My nest issue is it’s refusing to connect to the computer via the WiFi after entering in the PIN number I just get error messages on the scan n cut machine 🤦‍♂️ having to manually move designs over on a USB stick atm 🤦‍♂️ BUT at least that works whilst waiting for the Brother C/S team to get back to me as reduced staff in Europe and only an email address provided for Europe compared to the rest of the worlds services 🤷‍♂️

    Hey there, just wanted you to know that I stumbled upon your video after watching other alignment and cutting position adjustment videos and not having any luck. After watching & doing what you do in video, my cuts are just about perfect. The suggestion of using a 12 inch wide piece of card stock was a great one. Previously I would use a regular legal size sheet of paper, and it would never be corrected.
    Also- isn't the scanning mat about worthless? It never holds its stickiness( a word?) after a couple of weeks or so.
    What do you do to make it sticky again?
    You think Brother would lower the cost, or maybe do a 5 pack of mats at a discounted price. Or something!!

    • @PaperedChef

    What are all your settings when cutting on whisper white on your old machine?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 лет назад

      Hi Jen, I just use a blade depth of 3 for the CM350 and a blade depth of 4 for the CM300. Each machine is a little different but for BOTH machines, I never needed to change the speed, pressure or any other setting when using Whisper White card stock. Also, what I love about that card stock is that it doesn't leave fibers all over my cutting mat.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 года назад +1

      Carrie, the machine just scans what it sees and rarely ever cuts a straight line. You are much better off using Template Maker to create your own boxes. That way, they cut out perfectly. I’m linking to my latest tutorial on that.

      Alycia, I’m on my 3rd ScanNCut model and they all had a way of aligning your blade. Are you sure you don’t have that in the settings? Without it, there is no way to get your machine to go back to normal. Well, maybe there is but you would have to call Brother Tech Support.

    Hi, Chef. I have an SDX 225 that has needed to be aligned since it arrived. Six months later is today and I found your (this) video. I followed most of your steps, as they did apply to my machine...until I got to the crosshairs. My screen shows the crosshairs along a partly jagged paper with a red circle and red dot. There are no arrows to move the dot anywhere. Worse yet, there seems to be no way for me to keep the left side’s settings when only the right crosshairs are off. Can you help me? In the meantime, I’ll research...

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  3 года назад

      Bonnie, I did a video comparing how to align two different types of ScanNCuts. Unfortunately, we have no control over the DX models and you may have to align it over and over until it works. The lighting is also sensitive. I can have my ceiling light on but not my side light of my alignment is off. Here is my video. ruclips.net/video/8EVcwMewrWQ/видео.html

    I've had a SNC 350 for years now and never had a problem. However, now I'm having calibration problems - the big issue is that once I run the calibration program and realign the red circle the machine says it saves the settings but it doesn't save. When I cut my images right after the calibration, my cuts look like your poorly cut giraffes - the cuts are all off. When I do another calibration, the red circles are not centered even though the machine said it saved my new settings when I just ran the program. Has this ever happened to you? I am so sad that I'm no longer able to cut out my printed images! Would love to hear if you have any suggestions.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 года назад +1

      That hasn’t happened to me with the CM350 but it seems to be the case with my newer model where no matter how many times I save it, it is not aligned. Here are a few tips and tricks. Try turning off the machine and back on. It will help. Then, check the spring inside of your blade holder. It could be jammed. Then, align your machine again, this time in different lighting conditions. Turn off strong overhead lights or move the machine away from a window if light is shining into the scanner sideways. Try again and see if you get a better scan. If nothing you do works, call Brother.

      @@grandepuce8 hello, I have the very same problem, I have tried everything I even buy a new blade holder with a brand new blade, but its the same result, it seems to be something wrong with the way the machine takes the mat, I mean is like the rollers are not taking the mat evenly from both sides, the left side of the mat its always slightly down so the pieces get always an uneven cut, I am using a new mat as well, so I think by now I am using only new accessories and I buy the machine only a year ago, did you were able to solve the problem? if that's so, what did you do? thank you

    • @kper6318
      @kper6318 4 года назад +2

      I've had my CM350 for 2+ years and it's NEVER worked. I can calibrate and calibrate and no matter how many times (in a row, or before EVERY cut), the red "dot" is never in the cross hairs and never stays in the cross hairs. My cuts aren't just a little off, they are literally up to an inch on some. I have never had any luck with my machine and wanted it so badly -- primarily because of the scan feature. I purchased pre-made files for a journal and none of the cuts are correct, they look right but don't cut right. Every few months I sit down hoping I can troubleshoot, but sadly no luck. It's up to the "community" to teach because Brother is too busy, but no matter what I've tried I have no satisfactory outcome and would have returned it had I not been so hopeful and optimistic. Rant over! :-)
