watching this video 2 in the morning actually got me to purchase it luckily it was at half price and also its been updated since this video so it can at least be played by keyboard. Its true once you start on it you cant help experimenting for hours.Anyway thanks for this review and short tutorial !

Great video, and good to see that although you obviously appreciate your discrete/modulars, there's still room in our lives for well executed and very capable VSTs.

It kind of reminds me of a software version of Elecktron Analog Four with it’s parameter locks.

What OS do you use for the Surface?
Before it cracked, my pro installed 10, and it seemed to slow down considerably.
I still haven’t gave up on the Surface Pro, I liked it.
I just got discouraged reading the experiences people had getting the screen fixed,
not cheap, only to have it break again.

A screen break on a tablet is a bit of disaster so yeah i can see why that would be frustrating. I use 10 - i've found it to be awesome. Far slicker than 7.

Why is it so fun to reduce functionality? Honest question, why is less usually more?

I think it's because it pushes for innovation. Like cooking with a handful of ingredients, or painting with a couple of colours, or writing music for a string quartet. Boundaries, i'm finding, really seem to work. Although hardware boundaries are better enforced - there's always that sense that you could get out of it when using software. That's what i find anyway.

I agree. The simplicity of the TRK invites more exploration. I'm glad they kept it simple.
Too many new doodads these days contain ridiculous amounts of feature creep.

Which surface pro is this? And what processor does this SP have as well? I want to get one to use Reaktor on the fly! Thanks

Molten Music Technology Super fast reply! Thank you! So Reaktor runs pretty smooth on the i5? I was thinking I needed to get a i7, but it seems to work beautifully on your Surface Pro. Thank you so much!

Does Reaktor still only able to utilize one touch point at a time?

      Yes

damn, it's such a shame. they could really multiply it's value by introducing multi-touch.

Funny you mentioned how much you dislike computer screens like that on Elektron gear yet here you are falling in love with the touch screen computer tablet! Change of heart?

I’ve been making videos about making music on the Surface for about 4 years. It’s a great platform and about as far from a little screen on a hardware device as you can get. I like all sorts of things 😊

Just don’t look at the Surface Pro screen too hard.

      why's that?

I guess because the 3 of them I’ve owned,
      all 3 have cracked screens.
That means one of 2 things:
I am incredibly careless, and have bad luck.
      Or, like most of the people on the interwebz seem to say;
The screen on the surface sucks....
Or have they fixed that? Mine were ‘15 or ‘16 pros.
I was going to fix them, but got discouraged by online comments.
I bought iPads for myself and kids.

Oh ok. I've never had a problem with the screens. I've had a S3 an SP3, two SP4's, a SB and an SP 2017. I gig with them and everything so.... dunno, not been an issue. My iPad is cracked though and has a stripe of dead pixels.

Maybe Pro ones are easier to brake since they're larger, but my original RT one gone through a lot (falling on hard floor many times and such) and is still being used by a 4 year old now. it even got corner of the body smashed off, but the glass and display still very well intact without a scratch.
