This version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound

I have always loved this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.

This is so beautiful. This arrangement was done by the Finnish group Club for Five. Tim contacted them to ask permission to use it and they said yes. You should check out their version. Even though it's the same arrangement, the sound is quite different. It is mixed male and female voices with instrumentation. Great reaction. I love those "organ" chords at the end.

Home Free's music not only connects with our appreciation for beautiful, well crafted music; but also connects with our heart when they perform. I think that's why they are so beloved by their fans. We hear the heart beat of the music and their love for music as well as the beauty. Their musical instincts are always on point. They know which songs are enhanced by beat boxing and which ones aren't. As there are no egos in Home Free, none of them feel the need to insert themselves into a musical scenario just for the sake of being front and center. If I may say, you are very young to have so much musical knowledge! Well done. I learn a lot from your reactions. Thanks for another great one.

Sun flare (lens flare) is what created that light bar 'through' Rob and Chase. It is usually a problem, but was used magnificently here. As for the shots where the entire window shows through, it is the same sort of effect - such great camera skills. They have been known to create lens flare (see the BTS for Mayday), but the way it moves with the scene, this seems 'real'. Although there might be a high watt light placed in the upper left corner to create part of it.

I'm pretty sure the thing with the light shining through Tim and Chance is just done with lens flare? They're backlit, the camera's aimed directly at the light source, and the funky light bar right at the beginning stays with the window when that shot pans, so that's my best guess. Regardless of how it's done, you're right; it's a neat effect.

And again, I love listening to you hear so many things going on that I cannot catch, that each guy is adding to the mix to make it even more fabulous 😮🤗!! I agree, the camera effects added to the atmosphere of the story, and did allow for death to peak into the song visually! That one point where they did open their mouths with the AHHHHH, was truly spectacular - such a moving sound that I could actually feel in my bones!! The echo effect really added to the feeling that was building, and Tim singing in that low register just fit the entire piece and its message so beautifully! The shot you were wondering how they got, is called a "lens flare" in photography circles. Unless you have a special filter installed on your lens, that prevents this, bright points/areas of light will cause this to happen.

@Daniel Earnest -- Ear buds DO NOT have structural diversity to produce mid-to-lower pitches with any real fidelity, and low frequencies not at all. They use psycho-acoustic shenanigans to trick the mind into thinking it is hearing them. Consider what this does to the timbre and overtone series. Dear, dear Daniel, even rather cheap gamer circum-aural headphones are faaaar superior to even the most expensive buds. Better ones with two, three and even four speakers per ear to divide up the work of transducing the sound column are worth the cost.
Don't worry, Danny. You are waaaay cute enough to pull off wearing acoustic cans on your head.
btw: Listen to this one again, but this time think of the timbre in the mind of the arranger ... it's a Hammond B-3 organ playing background in a funeral home.
Oh! Your ear is so good I'm hoping you could answer this for me about the opening theme of the TV show "Vikings". They used "If I Had A Heart" by Fever Ray. Answer me this: Was he, or was he not, sitting on a laundromat washing machine when he composed that?

Nice reaction, Daniel! I like how much you go into details that you recognise. In my opinion Home Free did this song justice and the lack of percussion was a nice touch.
In one of the last videos you mentioned that you are planning to bring in other artists to your reactions. Might I recommend the project Ayreon? It is not a capella, but very interesting and has many really good singers from around the world. On the surface it is a Prog-Rock/Metal project, but it combines many genres like Folk, Musical-Theater, classic Rock and (classic) Metal. The composer and producer behind the project is Arjen Anthony Lucassen from the Netherlands. There is a playlist for the Ayreon Universe concert from 2017, which was the first live performance after 22 years. The show is a best of with songs from many albums. There are 16 singers featured that perform in several combinations from solo pieces to varying numbers of them in one piece.
For the most part Arjen writes concept albums in a kind of Rock-Opera format, where every album tells one story in the greater Ayreon Universe and every singer plays one character in the story.
If you like interesting compsitions and arrangements, this project is worth a look. I can promise that it won't be boring.
Here is the link to the Universe live show: ruclips.net/p/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc
If you want to take a look at a single song, here are some recommendations:
For more of a folk vibe, Valley Of The Queens (beautiful trio, acoustic instruments)
for an epic rock song: Dawn Of A Million Souls
Rock Opera: Magnetism or for even more singers Star Of Syrrah (has an epic guitar solo)
The song that blows most reactors mind: Everybody Dies
If you happen to like the music, the whole concert is worth a watch.
If ypu prefer a studio recording, most reactors start their Ayreon journey with the official video for The Day That The World Breaks Down. It is the first title of the album The Source from 2017 and kind of an ouverture to the album that introduces all the characters. There are 11 singers in this one song and it is a bit longer with 13 minutes play time. One nice thing are the Pop-Up comments from Arjen where he gives some background information on the production, singers and story. Here is the link to that song: ruclips.net/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/видео.html
Main intruments for most songs are: Flute/Whistle, Violin, Cello, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards
Arjens main influences are bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Deep Purple, every now and then one can hear Jimy Hendrix...
Hope that wasn't too rambly and nice to have you back uploading videos 👍

To me that chorusing between the 2nd and 3rd verses sounds like people wailing - it's just such a beautiful, sad song sung beautifully. It was probably Austin (or perhaps Rob) singing the highest harmonies. Adam Rupp has a lovely tenor and can beatbox in any octave but I'm not sure he can sustain a note that high.
