4:23 REMINDER: That is only Chrome that does that, most likely due to Google not really having Touch Based systems, so they didn't make Google Chrome work for Touch, that or they are doing what they have done before, where they make their programs work worse on other's devices. Aside that, IE11 is faster then Chrome, and works better then it too. So there is no need to use Chrome anyways.
I think I heard you say they "added right click". The Surface Pro digitizers always had a right click, in previous versions is was integrated on the magnet on the side of the pen. Now, it's just more obvious.
I wouldn't be surprised, if Google somehow on purpose made Chrome run bad with touch. We have already seen how they try their best to make their services incompatible with some of Microsofts devices; we see that with youtube on Windows Phone and gmail on the built-in mail app in Windows 8 (thank God for Outlook). Personally I transferred to hotmail because of this, and it has been a really positive surprise for me; the contact management is awesome, and since my university runs exchange, I generally feel thing run more smooth than they ever did with Google. It's a shame so many people think, that Google's services are better, when most of them don't really know Microsofts ditto. And IE is actually quite a capable browser too.
Agree, I used to use Chrome for its speed, but noticed IE11 is 20x faster then Chrome in every way, so Chrome is kind of useless, Firefox? It wasn't really known for speed, but IE still beats it. Plus your 100% right on Google making things work worse on Windows, resizing IE on Surface with Touch works fine, fast, easy, no problem... it only happens with chrome...
***** Definatley IE has finally caught up with the top browsers. At one point it overthrew Firefox, but after the recent update its on par with IE. Chrome on the other hand has begun to sag a little, but of the 3 I find that chrome can handle the more tabs with ease. Im still a little pissed that microsoft hasnt made IE tab friendly, I use almost a 100 tabs on my computers daily, and at that point it becomes insanely difficult to navigate my tabs without image visual tabbing instead of the lowered window tabs.
Yes, MS has left bad taste in many peoples mouths over the years, but now with win 8.1 i find it hard to point out the ugly spot, the parts that don't work properly are usually because of third party developers being slow to adopt touch, google, spotify, those are my main annoyances, but microsoft has fucked some stuff up, like USB microphones, expensive semi pro mics like the AT2020 i had working fine on win 7, but now its no more useful than a paperweight. And skype in the "metro" interface is horrible. IE is usable, but it doesn't have Adblock so i can't use it.
***** IE does have adblock, the most famous Adblock (Adblock Plus) is for all Browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Android): adblockplus.org But still, IE is the fastest browser currently, has adblock, works with touch and mouse, and works with everything...Microsoft makes all their products work with other's products, unlike Apple who ONLY makes THEIR products work with THEIR products... (Shit heads, fuck you apple.), so there is no reason Not to use IE. Why do people think IE doesn't have Adblock?... if anything it has a HUGE amount of add-ons, it has really no "Store" (There is a Microsoft site to download some add-ons), but the whole internet works as a "Store", download a .exe (Or what ever extension that add-on will use), run it, and your done. PS: That adblock is the same as the Adblock on any other browser, same developer, same results. Iv not seen a ad in a VERY long time, RUclips, etc all have no ads at all... plus with Windows you can edit the Hosts fiel to make a "Adblock", it works ANYWHERE, not just the web browser, So Windows 8 apps, Programs (Like Skype on the desktop), even websites (If you don't have adblock for your browser) will be all Ad Free...
wow nice feature for the surface pro, it can translate geoglyphs handwriting to english im really impresed i couldnt ever guess what you where writing but the surface did., also you show real "tablet mode" gaming usage and with the pen, best video i have seen.
how is it performance wise? the game looks very laggy actually. i'd need it for some mid-resource heavy applications (like cubase and CAD) and this is one of the big criterion.
Nothing on my end except a bit of warmth while pushing it. Russell Holly got it over 100 degrees (F) while installing software. Not sure about while gaming etc.
The warmest I have been able to push it was 107, and that was only in one corner of the device for a limited period of time. The previous versions would get warm all throughout and have loud fans, but this version seems much better at that sort of thing.
hi, iv,e just got the surface pro3, I am a beginner and am having problems using this thing. Does anybody know a web site that can help me use this. If you know of such a site, please could you help me. Thank, Terry
Can you give a little feed back about your Diablo 3 experience? I was thinking of this product specifically for this application. Is it laggy, do you get bad frame rates, what settings are you using?
I just got the Surface Pro 3 yesterday. The only slight problem is that the Keyboard case when in elevated mode is crooked. Does this happen to anyone else? Imma go get another from the Microsoft Store.
The problem you were having with chrome is that it's a resource hog for any computer and IE isn't. When you had so many applications open at once, would you really be surprised if you experienced lag like that with another? You had at least 5 other programs running, and one of them was the games app.
Thanks for the quick look! I'm not sure if you are an artist but the switch from wacom to ntrig digitizer announcement was very disheartening. Have u tried programs like Photoshop and manga studio and is the pressure sensitivity as well as the overall experience of drawing on screen, good?
Maybe you have seen it already, but if you haven't I'd suggest checking out Penny Arcade's review of the SP3. He mentions that the pen works surprisingly well, but there are some other nuisances.
It doesn't suck, Google makes it suck. They have done it before, purposely making their products works on other company's devices... IE works fine when resizing with Touch, only Chrome acts stupid. I used to use Chrome for its speed, but ditched it after seeing IE11 is twenty times faster then chrome, and over all is just *WAY* better then Chrome... Plus you can easily port your Favorites, History, etc from Chrome to IE if needed.
ImagineCraft7 IE is faster on any device.... ANY device that can use IE uses it better then Chrome, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows RT, they are the Windows Operating Systems that are compatible with IE11, all of witch run it faster then Chrome...even Windows Phone works perfect. Chrome was faster, now its not. Face it.
I absolutely love the SP3 but you mention it has no problems running the game, while you can actually see it's not smooth! (which is not weird cause it doesnt have a dedicated GPU)
Thanks for the video. I'm really impressed with my SP3 i5. I don't use chrome because I've read that its extremely resource intensive, especially with all their app/plug ins. That might explain the sluggish resize. Wonder if MS did something to thwart Google's browser on their device. Knowing GOOG they'll come up with a touch browser that will blow everything else away.
Being lithium-ion, it's expected life span is about 2 years all the way to 3 before it starts experiencing issues like any other rechargeable device. It is possible to replace the battery, however you have to suction the screen off to get inside the device.
ness2874 The Surface pro 3 has a better screen both in color accuracy and resolution. The specs are similar between the two but the way they are used is completely different.
I like how everyone seems to hate on Google (for not supporting other company's hardware and allowing MS to make a RUclips app) right here at their own website. ;)
Everyone that has a Surface Pro 3 can please go into "chrome://flags" and turn on some TOUCH optimized UI ??? I wanna see Chrome working flawless!! Thanks.
The Chrome problem is Google making it a problem. It could be fixed in 2 seconds flat I'd wager if Google would but look at it. The real problem I suppose is that they have looked at it and are trying to make a terrible experience. Trying to kill the competition? Sorry, Google, you don't have that much power. This tablet is awesome!
I see. I have never used Chrome on a touch device, so thanks for the insight, looks like I won't be downloading it when I get my SP3. At least not until they update it with some touch compatibilities. I do hope I will be able to download extensions for metro IE in the future.
Screw google. I want to use chrome on my surface but damn, google just does not want to make their products good on competitor devices. Well, you know what google, screw your services then.
***** I'm talking about tablets that are equally powerful as laptops. There aren't tons. The CPUs of other tablets are far inferior. You're just being a hater.
I have yet to see anyone using it in any "working" environment. IE, photoshop, editing content, web design, music production. If it indeed is supposed to be a Laptop replacement, I want to see someone actually using it in that fashion. Heck I can do most of the things reviewers show on a chromebook for that matter. I do not use onenote on my work laptop, and I have actually tried to find some need for it. Pen input is irrelevant to me, at least. I can surf the web on my tablet and phone, I can email on all of my devices IOS and Android. I can run, edit and work on Word Docs in Google docs now, not that it was ever an issue for me. If a device functions well for anyone and allows them to be productive I'm all for it, Microsoft or Apple. At this point, I'm not convinced and am beginning to think this is a smoke and mirrors effort by Microsoft. $1500 plus $100 extra for the keyboard is ludicrous. Microsoft fans have bashed Apple for their pricing, this takes the cake.
Its nice but seriously people wait for the SP2 to go down and get that. Seriuosly 3000 dollars hell no way to much im trying to getout of debt not go further into it.
10inch is more portable. 12 inch is too big. 800g is still heavy. and we need matte display not glossy. 16:10 is best for applications. 3:2 ? kickstand not working in portrait mode... stupid design. should be waterresistant like sony xperia tablet. and please add a few usb ports next time microsoft. 1 port? seriously 1? this should be a laptop alternative with 1port? funny
Agoston... You are asking for too much without comparing other that do not have what you ask for, and then again you will complain of the price when/if added... Come on... Get a grip!!
More like Microsoft is gimping chrome to get people using IE11 and Bing..... Google wants more users not less its how they make their money collecting your data.

Best all around tech device I've ever used. Amazing tech.
nice tip. also, Windows should have a feature to change folders as easily as FolderChanger. Google FolderChanger

I stopped using chrome long time ago. But I am using both Metro and desktop IE. Couldn't get both legs in one.
Is there an alternative for storing the pen when finished with the tablet? The pen might fall off easily with that little side fabric.
Vivi33 at the side you can magnetise it on the side of your SP3
how is it performance wise? the game looks very laggy actually. i'd need it for some mid-resource heavy applications (like cubase and CAD) and this is one of the big criterion.

should i3 be good enough for listening to music and school ?
Yes. I have an original SP, and it has no problem with multimedia. I also have Office 2013 installed and it too works just fine.
if your just doing that, just get a Pro 2, saves you tons of money
so I got the surface pro 3 with the i5 and I love it
Awesome, would you recomment the i5 too, im also gonna use it for school and stuff? :) or do you think i3 is fine? ;)

Is There a great difference between i3,i5 and i7? Why so Much Option?
i can put win 7 or be ini on this?

I don't care if Google Chrome sucks on the surface pro 3, Google Chrome *is* my only browser that I will use :)

Chrome sucks for touch and Google isn't in a hurry to improve that for Windows 8 users.
I wonder if there is a way of a on screen mouse...that would be cool
Does anybody know if it is possible to replace the battery after 3 years? How much time does the battery live?

Can you download Torrents and / or stream media?
Of course. It's Windows. You can do literally anything.
This is crazy, some people says it's more a tablet than a laptop and some people says is more a laptop than a tablet..
It's neither. Ignore people trying to add their own narratives to it.
it's a macbook air running windows with a removeable keyboard and multi-touch

The Surface pro 3 has a better screen both in color accuracy and resolution. The specs are similar between the two but the way they are used is completely different.

Thanks for the great video!
does it come with keyboard
Separate keyboard and/or case...
IE is surprisingly good
True
Your hand writing is HORRIBLE bro and yet the SP3 worked very nicely LOL..
Use metro internet explorer, it's much nicer to use than the desktop version.
Everyone that has a Surface Pro 3 can please go into "chrome://flags" and turn on some TOUCH optimized UI ??? I wanna see Chrome working flawless!! Thanks.
If this is only $500 ill buy it in a heart beat.
If it were onle $1, I'd buy 1000 of them...
really good...
Very nice..
Google should their browser

aint gunna lie.... but you sound just like the jack n the box guy hahah

funny with the chrome :D they might fix it but funny

is that your personal experience? sorry to hear that.

Try chrome 32, it's optimized for Win 8.1:

How can you discuss the pen without mentioning palm rejection issues with ntrig. Oh--you hand is 4 inches of the screen! fail
Are these past issues or issues specifically with N-Trig on the SP3? I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the palm rejection on the SP3.
Cpt. Derpy
