Man, I wish I was there for that. Blackwood was crazy in the 80s

My mom is from Middleburg...she never got to know her dad's side of the family, but many of them lived in Coal, Augusta & Mahanoy townships. Trying to put her family history together. Interesting places, thanks for taking us along.

I don't know what that is ? I'm just a dude from Maryland who hooked up with the cracker..I'm a member to all the off road riding areas where alot of coal mining ruins are. That's why I can get the cracker to the ruins. I'm tad, the sxs driver. If your ever near shamokin I'll take ya for a ride if ya want. I love showing passengers all the cool ruins up here

Oh, north east pa..lol..sorry. no, I live 150 miles south of shamokin on the chessapeke bay. I just love the area and the people up there. I keep a camper and bikes at aoaa. I'm up there every month for 10 days. That's when I hook up with the cracker. I'm 12 miles away from his work when camping

if the strip mine encompassed all the cleared out land, what was in the crevices that were filled in with those huge rocks? And what was the purpose of those two square pools (or holes before they were filled in with water)?

It's an extreme 4x4 course for rock crawlers...this used to be a vein(s) of coal. All stripped out

It's an extreme rock crawler trail. They actually have competitions to see who can get thru the fastest. Water holes you see are part of corse. Those crazy jeepers..lol
