Lorenzo Saccon What I mean is that this work (like many other by Respighi) has nothing to do with the common perception about Italian music, as it was established by famous masters, from Vivaldi to Verdi: cantabile, bright, light &stuff. I know I am simplifying things (after all Respighi himself wrote works heavily inspired from the ancient Italian music, while Verdi composed Falstaff), I was just making a mere remark.
