If anyone has loading issues when trying to update, try switching to 2.4ghz band instead of the 5 on the GoPro itself. It worked for me

I am updating through the app, it's still "loading..." from past 40 mins. No progress.
Are you talking abut the same or any different issue ?
For people who have problems installing the update follow these steps:
1. Slide down on your camera
2. Go to CONNECTIONS - next to preferences
3. Change WI-FI BAND from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz
4. Restart your app on your phone and try to update
This will work 100%

Did not work.. it still says update required. I need to do manual firmware update... -.-
I also tried that and it's still telling me "Something Went Wrong" Updated later and later it didn't work X 5 ;-) I also tried to download the file to my Mac and I can't get past the "click on all stop lights, and all cars etc. etc. BTW I have updated the 9's firmware before.

Thanks for the video. Looks so simple and just how I have done it so many times with previous GoPro's. Now my Hero 9 Black WILL NOT connect, ever. I get the connection successful on the camera screen but "We Cant Connect To The App" from the phone app. I have manually updated with SD card and still no luck. I am running Version 1.21 but it will not connect to Android, iOs or even my mac with Quik. I have set the connection to MTP and still nothing. The only way to see my files is to open cam, remove SD card and place in my mac. Any tips you can think of? So frustrating. I contacted GoPro, they say it's the first they heard of it yet it's all over the forums. If I lived in an area where returns were possible, my Hero 9 would no longer be mine. Too bad as the reviews are generally quite good.

Change the wifi connection from 5ghz to 2.4ghz, Restart the camera after changing to MTP mode. I had a few of these issues as well, this fixed it.

quik is not working to update firmware? is there a "go pro app" ? cannot find one?
Everybody - be aware that, even after you've updated and used the 9 with the brick, sometimes when you use your 9 in the Media Mod and then swap it over to the brick you can get no response. Like the 9 doesn't recognize the brick. Powering the 9 off then back on again reset it to work.

Having problems. Uploading to the cloud when plugged in the the charger.. it. Charge but. It. Wont recognize its plug in. And. Wont let me Upload . Any idea. Beside replacing charger ( already did ) pls help me
I had some problems with it as well, and then it started working when I was near my router. You could try moving closer. Other than that I am not sure, if anyone else has any ideas please comment below.
Thank you- Just got the Hero 9. Any idea on the Range of the iPhone 11 pro to Hero 9 ? Is this using WiFi for the phone to camera? I want to put it on my airplane, and it seems there is no Remote that works with the Hero 9.

Does anyone know if this will work for Max360 gopro? I'm not able to view, download or edit 360 videos? I've done a factory reset, Uninstall the app tried so many things will not work is anybody else having these issues? So just wondering if this will solve my issue. Thank you in advanced.

You can't add a camera without turning on gps. That sucks.
Sir. Is it normal that the battery. Every 50-60 second will reduce 1 percent, and also the unit got hot?
If you are filming that sounds about right for a battery life. My GoPro does get warm when I'm filming for longer periods of time but I wouldn't say it gets hot.
Just both yesterday, and after charging the both battery. I tried to explore, after set up and firm ware update, tried video, about 3 mins, its get hot already. By the way. Wat is the updated firmware? Just to be sure that i got the correct update

Hi, I just got my hero 9, when I connect it to the app, it has no update page. Does that mean that the unit I received is already updated? Also, the camera is very warm when being used. Is that common? I use the standard mode 1080/60k. Thanks for your comments
That is a good question, mine needed to be updated out of the box. Has anyone else's GoPro Hero 9 been up to date on the firmware right out of the box please comment below to help Nina out. As for the temperature mine does get fairly warm but not hot. I would keep an eye on it and if it starts to do anything odd give GoPro a call and see what they have to say.
Mine just arrive yesterday, the update page was showed up but always failed to update due to lost connection to the phone (samsung j7 2016).
I got mine last week... It apparently updated right out of the box but the touch screen is still atrocious! 👎😖 I am considering returning but I've already invested in the travel package the touch screen problem is a deal breaker for me... Has anybody has the same issue pls help

Just another reason Apple is superior in every way. Updating a device should never have to have this many steps. Open app. go to app setting, scroll down to update, click update. done. Im sick of GoPro
