    For the kids today who say Shaq was big and slow, you have no idea how athletic and quick Shaq was in his prime. Imagine a 350-pound man running the fastbreak getting ahead of guards from coast to coast.

    • @vikaskumarpatel5017
      @vikaskumarpatel5017 2 года назад +4

      Not just that. I think no one has seen Shaq playing in the post. Even when he was in Cleveland in 2009, he was double teamed. No one can stop him one-on-one in the post. You need some sort of help, a lot of help. Maybe, for a few possessions or a game you can with determined defenders like Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman who just don't want to give up but not alone.
      People think Shaq was like Deandre Jordan when he was decent, Roy Hibbert etc. These were all good players for a season or two but Shaq is one of the GOATs. People comparing him to those are plain stupid.
      Also, about Shaq's defense, just watch 76ers vs Lakers 2001 Finals. 76ers won't drive if Shaq was in there. The moment he was on the bench, they'll start running to the rim. Sure, he didn't have the IQ of a Olajuwon or Duncan, but they still didn't want to come inside. Also, Cs who were good at scoring, not great, didn't try post against him because they couldn't back him down.

    • @RavinManiac
      @RavinManiac 2 года назад +6

      @@vikaskumarpatel5017 I agree to all, but his Basketball IQ is also elite. He knows how to repost, where he can kick-out precisely when he gets doubled (although primarily because of the triangle), and he knows how to utilize his left and right (he mentioned in one of his interviews that he only has 2 moves: jump hook in the middle, and drop step to the baseline. He made it simple that, if he gets the defense in the middle, then his baseline is open. He starts middle at first so he can see the entire floor). For those who said he doesn't have any post moves and just uses brute strength to overpower, the fact that he knows where to position his foot against the back of his opponents' legs while pivoting is a huge indicator that his footwork in the post is elite.

    This is just facts. Shaq was literally out of shape from the 96 season on. His mvp season phil Jackson challenged him to get in great shape and told him he'd win the mvp and he won it easily. If shaq stayed in shape and took care of his body and only focused on basketball he'd be the goat and it wouldn't be close. He'd be first in career points by a couple thousand points. He'd be in the top 2 in all time rebounds and blocks. He'd have 8+ season mvp's. 8+ rings. 3 or 4 defensive player of the years. He would of had seasons where he averaged 35+ points, 15+ rebounds and 5+ blocks. Shaq literally did everything he did purely off of talent and God given ability. Also, shaq has the record for most seasons averaging 20+ points and 10+ rebounds at 13. Imagine if shaq stayed in shape? He'd have around 16 seasons like that. Prime 3peat shaq is still a top 5 player all time.

    Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but one thing that’s fair to say is that being as big as shack was it’s awfully hard on your body to put it through that much rigorous running and training. None of us know what really went on but he doesn’t have a physical make up like someone like Kobe I would guess being that big you would need a fair amount of rest. I’m sure not everyone will necessarily agree but I felt like that’s at least worth mentioning

      If he asked Kobe, "Man I'm always in pain help me work out so I can take care of my body and I can end my career out in shape" Kobe would have taken care of him. If he was in the gym day in and Day out with Kobe, I'm not saying that he'd work as hard as Kobe, but there's no denying Shaq out on too much weight and didn't take care of his body as he could have. If he cut the burgers and junk food and ate only healthy food I'm sure the damage he put his body through would have healed up.

    "He'd be the greatest of all time!." I'm guessing that Kobe is imagining playing a decade together with the 1999-2000 version of Shaq. That version of Shaq was the UNDISPUTED best player in basketball--and by an awesome amount.

    Kobe fights his teammates: Fans and Media, “He’s competitive, he’s passionate about the game”!
    Kobe punched a teammate in the face in practice: Fans and Media, “He wants to win, he demands perfection”.
    Jordan punched Steve Kerr in the face: Fans and Media, “That’s how competitive MJ is”.
    LeBron tweets about his teammates not playing well: Fans and Media, “He’s just a drama king, he pushes his teammates away”
    LMFAO

      MJ and Kobe let their teammates know they should and can play better. Lebron can't communicate that message to them he just whines, bitches, and complains.
      He's like a female, he just wants his teammates to read his mind. Also, Lebron's teams dont run a real offense and defense, they just play streetball.

      This guy is the definition of a millenial or an Internet guy with female enotions. Kobe and jordan did it behind closed doors lebron did it on a website so millions and millions of people can see.

    If you guys already haven’t watched Kobe and Shaq a 45 minute interview about them opening up, mainly shaq apologizing and Kobe acknowledging (vise versa) you guys should watch it. Growing up into the so called “beef” that interview was great closure

      People put shaq in the top 10 only because 3 years that goes to show you how dominant he was in those 3 years he was cleary the most dominant those 3 championships is what made shaq all time top 10 other players needed 10 years to even be considered

    This is pretty much like kobe is a protagonist of the story where he becomes the best by working the hardest and sheer determination. And there's shaq, the protagonists' pal who is too OP he could be the greatest if he chose to but instead he preferred to broke tons of backboards😂

Anyway all of my books are available on Amazon titled Waiting on my Cue and its sequel No Longer Waiting and That Diamond is something Serious. Some great urban fiction reads.
