I really enjoyed this video. Also very impressed with how you explained how to treat the fish properly to those watching. It is great information. Thanks again for sharing such a wonderful fishing adventure!
Stop and think about how lucky you guys are I'm an 80-year man from Connictcut who had many great years of fishing rivers in this state, very nice video, and thank your lucky stars for having those friends !!!!
Nice job describing what you're doing. I like that you keep it short and precise. Some youtubers either give little or no details at all. Other times, they rattle on and on endlessly.
Awesome video. Love to see you all keeping the heads in the water too. They recover so much better if you can keep their head (gills) in the water. Awesome catch, all! :)
Great video, beautiful fish, beautiful area. Love how you explain technique and proper handling. If you ever want to get on some great lake sturgeon fishing, come to Minnesota and fish the rainy river at the end of April.
Isn’t it just crazy how one day, one rod will get smacked and the next day, the other gets it all!? Love your videos man! Drone shots are soooo cool. The Gorge is an amazing place to fish, even tho you’re almost out of it out there.
Love the respect you gave to the biggest older fish you landed Samong....kind of like respecting your elders with gentle care and kindness. Thanks for fun vid!
OMG y'all nailed it, the spots going in the right direction with Samong and friends. The vidoe is a awesome instructional lessen, ambassadors for safe Sturgean fishing... Thanks
What monster fish and great looking backed potatos, Thank you Samong and Nick, these sturgeon fishing trips are one on my favorite. Last year was fun and this one is every bit as fun also. I know the rain isn’t perfect but you guys got out there and had a good time anyway. That big river is something to see and the view up stream of the green landscape and damn is an amazing backdrop for sure. That catfish was a nice surprise, running up to those rods and that big hook set looks like my kind of fun. Thanks again Samong for sharing these trips and all the other great outdoor videos you put together. Good fishing and Gods speed to you and yours. 🐟🏆🎥💯👍🐳
A gallon milk jug with water in it will get you out of the rocks sometimes slide it on a swivel down your mainline and the current will get it off the rocks for you.
Just got spooled by my first sturgeon other day. Great tips about handling fish gently. Too many people are meat hunters who don’t care about preserving the species
Here in bc on the Fraser river, reg line we run is 150 pound main and 130 pound leader. In boats it’s shimano techniums short but lots of back bone. From shore we run 9-10 foot rods. Massive pen reels aswell. Buddy of mine hooked a sturgeon on a salmon head and was spoiled in under a minute. The fish was just swimming not fighting and snapped his 130 pound leader. His reel was so hot he couldn’t touch it. Reel had 40lbs of drag and just couldn’t do anything. We also run anywhere from 10oz to 28oz depending on current
Hey I make sinkers for fishing in current that are 8 ounce weights and they stick really well to the bottom . I can send you some and make it so it sticks where you want it to I fish up there all the time I love watching your videos man
Hey Samong, I study all your vids for tips....Sturgeon ones are my fav. Could you do a vid on how you make your rod extensions for fighting leverage? Im sure your subscribers would interested. Thanks. Landed my first one recently :) 6ft
I'm going to be moving to Spokane Washington very soon and I love to sturgeon fish have all my own rods could you tell me what dam that is you guys are fishing by?
sturgeo fishing must be expensive with all the line especially i can barly afford myself 15 pound spiderwire braid lol of course i have just got a job am 15 live in mb and fish the red rver and assinaboine all the time yet to catch a sturegeon but they are in there thick just got to find em
For all of you wondering where this is it is Lower Granite Dam on the Snake river. I find it somewhat comical you answer many questions but none that ask where you are fishing yet you post a video, a great one at that, with identifying landmarks. I recognized this spot immediately and the idea that this or any other spot is “secret” goes out the window when more than one person knows about it.
Sorry for asking this question but when is it the best time to set the hook on sturgeon I'm new only bien on the water 2 days fishing for stergeon haven't hook on one yet will be attempting again this week end😢
LOL @21:05 The way I like to think of it is it brings out the primal instinct. Sounds caveman-ish. The very first energy source for humans was probably fire.
Yes hello ru fishing in California and where at, ive been wanting to catch a sturgeon,i live in Arizona and they are No sturgeon here in Arizona, can you please tell us a spot where to catch sturgeon, where and what is the name of that river ur at, please reply have a blessing day

Love how you made it a point to explain the proper fish handling of those old and fragile species. wikid sick!
Awesome video. Love to see you all keeping the heads in the water too. They recover so much better if you can keep their head (gills) in the water. Awesome catch, all! :)

Killing it man I’ve been waiting for another sturgeon video, I’m going to test my luck and see if I can catch my first sturgeon this year.
Great outdoor show. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent release on that beautiful fish. Good info on how to handle them to avoid injury. Great job!

Just got spooled by my first sturgeon other day. Great tips about handling fish gently. Too many people are meat hunters who don’t care about preserving the species

This is a very fun adventure and I really feel the atmosphere there.
My brother in law and I would fish the Columbia at about this same distance from Bonneville Dam.
Man that was some killer fights 🤛🤘👏
Always a fun watch when you tie in with those monsters!
Beautiful scenery! 👍
Nice congrats to you and Nick
I really enjoyed this video.
awesome video! The one guy sounds like Jeff Spicoli lol
If you flip sturgeon upside down they become very docile and you can easily work on them safely.
I use the same sliding rig for surf fishing here in the Southeast... works well!
Tight lines!
WOW, great video !!! 👍
Camping and fires go hand in hand!!!
Great patience. U can see how ur buddy wasn't as patient and lost the fish
Great trip! Hopefully it’s like that when I hit up Eastern Washington Memorial Day weekend. Tight lines!
Great review.
I’ve been waiting for a sturgeon video!
I miss just chilling back and waiting for your set line to go off
Damn I woke up this morning with my lower back sore. And watching this video was making it hurt more lol 😂
Great content as always. I’ve fought one myself. They are fun!
The bigger the bait the bigger the sturgeon you put those small baits on there and you’re gonna be knocking shakers off your pool all day. 👍🏼
beautiful video guys
Subscribed!
Great video and tips!
I would strongly recommend the FG knot for your line to line connection
It's a bucket list fish...that and a king salmon
Nice. I miss sturgeon fishing
What a fantastic fish. We are so lucky to be able to catch such a fine fish at that. Fish on :-)
We sure are lucky!
Love your videos!!
Man thats a big catfish and a big river!
Great vid! Give the FG knot a try, good for braid to mono.
Dam bro y’all made it look easy lol! Fun video as usual
damn, Nick is on fire!

Also often enough if you miss a fish leave the bait in the water. 90% of the time they’ll come back for it with in a minute or two
Hey I make sinkers for fishing in current that are 8 ounce weights and they stick really well to the bottom . I can send you some and make it so it sticks where you want it to I fish up there all the time I love watching your videos man
Wow nice video, i like your unique rig too
Dopest sturgeon videos!!! Ever!
👊👊👊
Awesome video
We fish for sturgeon in California too what helps it stick a little better is casting upstream instead of just straight.
Yep, that is a great strategy.
@@SamongOutdoors we put 2 nails in the weights to hold to the bottom.
Amazing release man
Hell yeah dude 🎣🐟🤘

Love the videos. Just gettimg back into sturgeon after 5 years. Have you ever thought of using pyramid weights to help stick
To bottom
And where is this place at. I have been looking for new places to fish for sturgeon

Samong: These are the fish that make you feel small
Nick: You are small
Me: 🙃
Im interested in the rod holders too... Thx
