Great video George. I have done the same job on the transaxle on my husqvarna lawn tractor. Changed over to gear oil instead of grease, it now shifts smoothly. Cheers, Jeff.
Yes you can. I traded my 3 speed for the 5 speed. They are a direct swap, only your shifter might change depending on how you have yours set up. Mine didn't, it just added 2 more stops. Thanks for stopping by
If you are only using it in a lawn mower that is fine, but if you are using it in high speed applications it works better with gear oil. So far, so good for mine. Thanks Joe.
My 700 083 Peerless keeps slipping out of gear and starts grinding. It is on my belt drive walk behind mower. 2007ish model so getting some age on it. Do you think it could be the shift keys or something more serious? Plan on taking it apart this weekend. This video is going to help if i have to. Thanks ahead for any input.
I suspect that you will find worn bushings inside. With the abuse this transmission is getting in the Goofy Cart it hasn't caused it to jump out of gear even once. Make sure you clean everything really well before re-assembly. Thanks for stopping by.
I have followed the work of Twisted R Racing, as he knows what he is doing. Check him out here for a 4 part series on rebuilding them: ruclips.net/video/8HJvh3C1Mik/видео.html Hope this helps and thanks for stopping by.
Not sure if that would be a transmission problem so much as the other drive parts. Unless there is something broken inside. Sorry I can't be more specific without seeing the transmission itself. Is it jammed in gear?

As long as it doesn't leak all over the place. Thanks so much, Jeff.
Good job George !
Thank you
Don't ya just hate it when that happens. More good progress though. Regards, Solomon
One step forward, 2 steps back, but at least it is right this time...I hope. Thanks Solomon
That's going to be as good as new.
Let's hope better than new! Thanks Lloyd

Thank you so much for all your help.
I’d like to know if I could change out my four speed transmission to a5speed

instead of switching tp gear oil i added a grease fitting at the top still used in a lawn mower.
