The rear widow was not a fail. A fail would have been the tint coming off in small slivers then having to go in between the defroster lines to get it all off while not destroying the defroster. It has happened to me many times.
I enjoy your projects, because you do normal projects that don't require absurd amounts of money. Id like the see the car finished.........wheel update?
Hay Mike you post it I will watch it, I have learnt so much from your videos you are amazing with cars. Keep the videos coming Mike and have a wonderful weekend, hope Lola and the ducks are doing well
Das doch dein "Wunderwagen" it's called a "Kombi" in German or "Transporter" . This is fun to watch really especially for Mercedes Club Members and all of us who have had W123's, W124's, W126's, W140's, W129's etc. Lots of the problems are similar and I keep saying "did that too". Manfred
I was waiting for “isn’t she lovely….isnt she beautiful “ by Stevie Wonder to be played when the back window was installed lol. Looks good though Mike. Can’t say as I’ve heard of that model before so it’s cool to see.
I'll be here until it's completed or it's not viable enough to keep it going other than as an inclusion in videos that are going along better. All you need of course is another 50,000 viewers besides me to make it worth it. Great video and as always, thank you.
It's coming along nicely Mike. Keep going, for sure! That back hatch is probably going to have to be stripped down the metal and re primed, otherwise the paint won't stick. That's OK though. It's going to look a lot better when you get that new tail light and the wiper arm installed. We appreciate your hard work. Great video!
please keep showing videos on the w124. my best friend has a sedan version in Thailand, I am a car guy so he comes to me for advice, but most of my experience is on Japanese cars so your content on the W124 is super useful!
I am enjoying watching you work on this vehicle. As someone who has no mechanical experience, and can't even change oil, I am learning much. Even though it is black, it reminds me of my 90s charcoal Volvo I have fond memories of.
Hey Mike, No not a Merc Benz guy, but I do love old wagons. Kudos to you. If you are keeping it, have the tailgate repainted only in due time. Love the content.
Mike, it’s great to see the progress on the wagon! Nice to hear the glass arrived in 1 piece as well! Looks great on the back of it. Bummer about the paint work…but at least it’s repairable.
Enjoy all content on this car and looking forward to seeing it completed along with some external footage of you driving it around, maybe even a road trip to your daughter. Hope your injury is on the mend Mikey! 👍😎
Order the paint that matches in spray cans on line and paint the lift gate yourself! I've done it and mine matched well. And, Can't wait to see you drive it on the road!
And then over the course of a year some knick knacks on the interior. I mean this is his excellent tow vehicle. In the Netherlands all car dealers were driving these with a trailer and a car on top of it. Daily.
Mike, I am thinking that with a LOT of elbow grease and a few cans of primer and paint, you could make that tailgate look like new. Keep up the good work and don't forget about the rear seat cushion!
Hi Mike! Great job fixing up the Estate (W-S-124.) I would get the correct new or used parts for the rear hatchback glass latch mechanism ASAP. I think that's how the glass broke from the previous owner slamming the hatch down for it to catch and latch. That front turn signal lens assembly was not fitting correctly at all. Some of the reproductions are 3% off in design specs. Just enough for them not to fit. Maybe there is a parts/supplier in Germany that has genuine used turn signal lens assemblies? I would just have the rear hatch painted, leave the glass in. A good paint guy won't leave any tape lines. Make more videos of the MB wagon-estate. An Estate is just a 4 door Hatchback!!!!
Hi MWM, finish what you started , it would be nice to see a master piece in your collection finished and road ready , your very proud of her and it shows , you will definitely enjoy the finished product for years to come and so would we , great content as usual , see you on the next one , peace
Mike, correct in German is "einen Wunderwagen". You may know the wiring harness upper and lower could be a mess, they seem to have corrected the late '95's and up. I've done both on one of my cars. Btw, that headlight switch should have a first notch that turns on the front fogs as you know and the second pullout is the rear fog which has the orange light on the switch. If it doesn't stay to send position you might have a bad switch. Remember to install a fog light in the left rear tail light, there's a place for it and it's a much brighter light that shines through for and rain and is only on the driver side of the vehicle. The idea is that the person behind will know that is the left side of the car if they want to pass. Didn't know did you.
Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. Let's see what you're going to find and fix on the 1995 Mercedes Station wagon W124 or S124 . You're having a lot of fun.
Please do a video on the rear suspension positioning. Just so my brain doesn't explode, LOL. Then make it a keeper but keep going until it's rolling perfection.
I use a steamer to remove window tint. It will come off easily and will leave no residue. The one I use was one made to remove wall paper, but any good steamer should work.
Mike I would like to see you purchase a Harborfreight spray gun and some primer, and color coat, and spray the gate yourself . I did something like that years ago, and I've painted a half dozen cars since then. Also you can get cans at the paint, and body supply store, they mix the paint, and put it in cans for you now. Sand it well and prime it before the finish coats.
Mike just get you a pint of paint and sand it where you need it and paint it. I know you could do a great job. Ask Randy for help, he knows everything. I want to see more Janice
Also, your videos in the last few months have been much better from a speaking content perspective. Previous videos felt like a "I put together some clips and it's > 10 minutes long". Now the videos are more entertaining. Either way, keep up the good work.
I'd love to see the wonder wagon finished. Keep the videos comin! About the corner lights, I like origional ones better then the new ones. They look like they belong on the car.
It's slowly coming together, Mike! The rear tailgate is a bit of a bummer, but you'll figure out a solution, I'm sure! On a side note, looks like you need to replace the oil pressure sensor, near the oil filter housing, as the gauge went right to full pressure when you turned the ignition on.
I would prep the tailgate as far as you can do yourself and then have it painted. Eg remove window, sanding, filler, primer etc and bring it over to the paintshop. That way you can save a few bucks. Maybe Randy can make a deal with his regular Maaco location?
Keep on going to make it nice again. I really like how you care about this old Mercedes. Over here in Germany you find some left over from those days. A friend of mine is a great fan of those W124 series. He owns one of this rare E220 Coupé we both enjoy driving. So please keep going I enjoy every minute.
Hi Mike you have the wagon looks good keep going I like this car paint the car and of it’s going to be a keeper then make it look the way you do like the back window being in thanks to Nick he save the day thanks for a great video mike really love this wagon 😊😊
Huge Mercedes enthusiast up in Canada. My first Benz was a W124 chassis 300E 4Matic. Loved that car and hope to get another one day. Although I did some minor mechanical on it, I would never dreamed of tackling some of the stuff you have shown in your video. Keep up the great work, eh! And thanks for sharing your journey!!
Mike ! most likely was hit in back gate replaced and they just slammed some paint on it and out the door . Take it down to Macco and shoot some paint on it and wala yer done !
You should definitely keep going Mike, the views may have gone down a bit, but that’s normal for every car series on RUclips, having said that, I think the car is worth saving and restoring and when the big finale episode comes, it surely will get the views it deserves in my opinion
If you intend to keep the W124 as you say, you should make it as perfect as you can, drive it, and enjoy it for the long term.
The rear widow was not a fail. A fail would have been the tint coming off in small slivers then having to go in between the defroster lines to get it all off while not destroying the defroster. It has happened to me many times.
I like when little simple things make a big difference
I enjoy your projects, because you do normal projects that don't require absurd amounts of money. Id like the see the car finished.........wheel update?
All the beautiful memories of families and friends you find wagon
Mike keep putting out videos about this Mercedes. Until it’s complete. Then enjoy it.
I would like to see more 124 estate wagon videos. It’s one of the best cars ever made.
Huge congrats on Nick and back glass for the win 💯
Keep the content coming. I really love the progress so far.
Hay Mike you post it I will watch it, I have learnt so much from your videos you are amazing with cars. Keep the videos coming Mike and have a wonderful weekend, hope Lola and the ducks are doing well
Thank you!!
That car is special. A paint job will make it look so much better. Keep up the progress on that wagon.

Love the s124 content. It needs to be shown in its entirety until you get to your daughter's in Atlanta and may be the journey back😉
I'll be here until it's completed or it's not viable enough to keep it going other than as an inclusion in videos that are going along better. All you need of course is another 50,000 viewers besides me to make it worth it. Great video and as always, thank you.
Thanks!
Words i never say but git- r- done Mike ! don't quit now.
Ha!!
She is looking good with headlights working and a new parking brake pull🙂👍
Please continue with the wagon Mike I have been sharing each video with my car club, I have been enjoying everything about the mighty little wagon.
Thank you Robert!
@@MonkeyWrenchMike Thank you My Friend I enjoy your videos so much 👍
Seems like a great grocery/parts getter.
Just fabulous scene by MWM, the W124 Estate is getting better by days and it's a joy to see that the car 🚗 is going to be the cream of the crops 🎉😂
We need more of this car. Love your content. Been watching you for over three years now. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Jason!
Keep it coming......like the wagon to be finished on your channel.......
It's coming along nicely Mike.
Keep going, for sure!

I really want to see this thing come back to life. Please keep working on it. We all want to see it. Please
Keep the co tent on the wagon coming, loving it

These estate cars are very popular in Ireland please keep on making the videos Alan Northern Ireland 👍
Thanks!!
Mike, it’s great to see the progress on the wagon! Nice to hear the glass arrived in 1 piece as well! Looks great on the back of it. Bummer about the paint work…but at least it’s repairable.
You made it possible. Thanks!!
Enjoy all content on this car and looking forward to seeing it completed along with some external footage of you driving it around, maybe even a road trip to your daughter. Hope your injury is on the mend Mikey! 👍😎
I like the content of this car,the average guy can relate
Agreed she is a keeper. One of the residents in my town has a Beige S124 wagon and it's beautiful just like yours.
Love it, W124 wagons are the best!
Order the paint that matches in spray cans on line and paint the lift gate yourself! I've done it and mine matched well. And, Can't wait to see you drive it on the road!
Waiting for more on the Benz
I want to see more on the wagon
All over the world these Mercedesses are still used daily. We want it restored. Completely.
Then let's do a go fund me the wagon. Mike can't swing that kind of bat!
@@edwardmartinez9459 I think once the backdoor/tailgate is sprayed in. The original wheels are painted. It is a complete car. In my humble opinion.
And then over the course of a year some knick knacks on the interior. I mean this is his excellent tow vehicle. In the Netherlands all car dealers were driving these with a trailer and a car on top of it. Daily.
I don't think he will tow F450's or F350's. If so he better pay a company to do the transport for that once in three year purchase. And call it a day.
Mike, I am thinking that with a LOT of elbow grease and a few cans of primer and paint, you could make that tailgate look like new. Keep up the good work and don't forget about the rear seat cushion!

Keep the project going. Remember it is summer in the States and a lot of viewers go on vacation. Great work.

Great work Mike, love it. You cleaned that glass so well, came out like new ! I am sure you will fix that rear end. Thanks for the videoooo

I’ve painted hood and fenders. I’m not the best, but they came out decent

Love watching Mike paint the hatch . If I could afford I love Mercedes
I'd love to see the wonder wagon finished. Keep the videos comin! About the corner lights, I like origional ones better then the new ones. They look like they belong on the car.
Please keep making videos until it's done. From what I can see still the most popular of your cars.
Nice work. Keep the indicator lights stock, much better to see original fittings.

Very cool, the W124 is much more common here in Finland but due to it's age it is starting to be quite rare.
Great progress Mike, it would be great to see fully restored if possible. I had a 1990 300SE estate 20 years ago and I wish I never sold it!
1 more thing I like about the baby he loves Lola
Mike, any video where you are wrenching on a car is a good one! Keep 'em coming.
Big thanks to Nicolas, can't wait to see it roadtripping.
Thats so nice of that viewer to ship glass
Hi Mike you have the wagon looks good keep going I like this car paint the car and of it’s going to be a keeper then make it look the way you do like the back window being in thanks to Nick he save the day thanks for a great video mike really love this wagon 😊😊
You are giving me hope that I can have a fun project without breaking the bank. Love the project!!
Thanks!!
Nice job Mike thanks for the video the wagon is coming along nicely
Go for it Mike!! This is what is your channel is all about and you are fantastic!!
I like watching your progress in fixing the wagon.
I'll watch any work on that car, Mike!
Thanks!!
Please continue to save/restore this estate!
Keep going. I like seeing the progress. Film your trip if the Mercedes’ will make it.
I enjoy seeing this car. Keep working on it, would love to see what it looks like all done!
Check the heater core hose behind the back side of the engine on the drive side. That's the most forgotten hose. That's what killed my c124
Yes!! We need much much more of this wagon!! It will be the parts wagon!!
I think the cars nice enough to paint the tailgate.
I would like to see it completed. 👍🏻
Mike, I would like to see more videos on your W124. Hard work pays off 👍.
Keep up the videos coming.
You make good video Mr Mike.
The wagons looking great Mike but it’s probably not worth installing the glass until you paint the tail gate.
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Only took 10 minutes to install
Keep at it, not a Benz fan, but I appreciate your love for this wagon. Paint it, put some lipstick on it as it is not a pig!
Huge Mercedes enthusiast up in Canada. My first Benz was a W124 chassis 300E 4Matic. Loved that car and hope to get another one day. Hello sir. Good to see you glad the family is all doing good. Good to see the nice Mercedes wagon again I like her a lot.🙂👍🙏
I say, keep going, I love seeing things being restored to as good as it can be.😊
Keep going with this one 😊
Mike ! most likely was hit in back gate replaced and they just slammed some paint on it and out the door . Take it down to Macco and shoot some paint on it and wala yer done !
It seems complicated but you got it all put back together 👍
Good luck my friend. 😊
Definitely do more. It's a project I would love to do. Definitely giving me ideas.
Keep these videos coming! Really liking this restoration!
I love those usa turn signals in all of the MBs till like w212, the clear ones are so boring to me as you see them so much here in eu
Hey Mike how is the wagon?
Love the project Mike. Please continue.
Vary awesome indeed. Nice job on getting the parts for your W/124. Sweet.
Keep on this S124
I think you should rebuild it as much as possible and give it a complete (or almost) complete paint job.
You should definitely keep going Mike, the views may have gone down a bit, but that’s normal for every car series on RUclips, having said that, I think the car is worth saving and restoring and when the big finale episode comes, it surely will get the views it deserves in my opinion
Yes I want to see to completion, whats happened to the wheels you were going to put on the car.
