$175 for that car is a great deal whether it runs or not! You could part that thing out and make that money back just on the interior components. Get her running get fresh paint and rubber and call it good.😊

Yeah, a ratty diesel 190 here in eastern europe in this shape is a solid $1000 minimum, let alone one with this engine.
That must be the bargain of the century. Be worth a lot in parts. I live in the UK. They fetch strong money over here.

Also good to see you doing what you love again, you looks happier! now just to buddy up to Randy on that shop of his 😉 Myself, I got coolant hoses to replace in the W215, thanks to a fury friend! Had to cross the line and get them from WA yesterday.
At that price Mike I really don’t think you can lose. I love the two tone paint and it would look so much better with a wash. Once you work some magic it will be driving in no time

@@MonkeyWrenchMike definitely start from the rear fuel pumps and move up. Hopefully nobody has been messing around with the BOSCH KE system or you will be investing a TON of time to make it run right.
Before you did anything, you should've clean all those leaves and the dirt or mud off the engine compartment just in case

Pure excellence, I love the car, watch hub nut's video on the 190E. So you can provide all the info and your audience will fall for that masterpiece. Get a leaf blower and the rest is easy peasy. In Europe these are cult. Like the pointer sisters I'm so excited 😁😁

Those headlights and grille are off a E21 BMW which to this day remains one of my favorite cars.

This is incredible!! I used to go on Marketplace daily & think about doing exactly this. But $175?! W201's are solid just like you showed here. That engine bay looked freshly excavated from a crypt, but still cranked consistently. Golden era Benz.

Had one of these when l went to Germany.
Old but reliable did 13.000 miles in it all over Europe not once gave me trouble.
I used the water soluble Gorilla glue on the left side of my dash wood to re-secure it and it was perfect 👍 1984 300CD 👍 Best car I ever had.
Very expensive to own one of these beauty here in my country for its mileage. Great content Mike

Upholstery look in fairly good shape because it is not leather but MB-Tex which is Meant to last forever! Nice project!!
MB-Tex can stop a bullet. It is the Chuck Norris of upholstery material.

I remember back in the early 80's here in the UK (sort of), nearly every other customised car that passed you was a 190E, and they were nearly always Black.👍
I finally went out and started practice driving two weeks ago.
So, you weren't the cause of my downfall, I just hadn't gone out to practice.
As they say, practice makes prefect, and one day, I will get my permit.

Cool car. I got a free 94 Ranger years ago it looked like that under the hood to Lol took a few hrs with a leaf blower air pressure then shop vac but I got it clean

First thing I do with that Mercedes-Benz before you start it I clean the engine compartment out eliminating the chance it'd be coming to barbecue grill when you're working on it
It's a start.
You know I can fit in the rr of that car! I had tons of room when I drove Millie! I saw a bad cheap Merc recently. The description had an entire MWM list of issues, though (I think it was runner) Water gets in trunk, electrical issues, trans issues, suspension issues, etc.

Dirty Sally comes to mind lol. Last year I grabbed a 01 pathfinder that runs and drives for $200, it leaks oil but I just add when it needs it lol. My Scion sits in the garage alot now because of it 😅

I worked with a guy down in Florida in the late 80's who had one of these. He and his wife bought it new. I thought they were nice cars beck then, and they're still decent cars now.
