I’m a BMW enthusiast, I always love to watch videos that gives classic BMWs a new life. These 740i are sought after, for a clean sample or for a well restored one , high 20s low 30s on average . Mike, take your time on the little details, that will set her apart. Well worth it. Keep up the hard work. 👍
Hey Mike it sounds like the throttle position sensor. Try hooking up your scanner and you should be able to see if it is reading correctly or if it’s malfunctioning.
She’s coming along nicely Mike. To freshen the look when you get it painted, have them paint the lower door sills body color instead of black. It’ll give it a newer less 90s look. IIRC the later 7 series in that body style were all body colored.
Mike, I keep watching because you make these videos fun. I really don't have any reason to watch something about a 25+ year old 4 door BMW but I keep coming back to it. I'm hoping you can make a $ when you are all done with it.
Hey my name is Clarence from North Carolina. I've been watching you since you started thank you very much for the videos you do. It makes my day not in the best health but always find time to watch you
Nice tantalising opening piece to camera giving details of tasks to be performed. Mikey is clearly a natural communicator and skilled orator. I suspected the huge box contained a new engine! 😁
My 2000 Honda accord has a simular window regulator with the added bonus of the window falling into the door at the most inconvenient time. Thanks for the great videos a big shout out to Lola!
Nice. I have an an E38 in the same colour that I’m slowly bringing back. I think if I hadn’t bought it, it would have gone to the junk yard. Every place I look, some muppet has been there before me and butchered something, but I’m fixing it all piece by piece. In the meantime I get to enjoy probably the most beautiful large sedan ever made!
Excellent Work On The 740i Mike, She’s Coming Back Around Thanks To You, As An Owner Of A E30 & A E46, Those Are Great Cars, My Parents Had A 740iL Years Back, Such Well Engineered, Drivers Cars..
Great video Mike! I'm really liking you bringing these beasts back to life. I used to have a 2005 Mercedes C230K and it was a b*!ch to change the window regulators. I had it for about 8 years and spent so much money on that car, but it was a blast to drive! I did most of the work myself when stuff broke, helped keep RockAuto in business, and learned so much (mostly learned I didn't want another one, lol). Give Lola an extra pat on the head for me.
Randy was saying he didn't know why he bought the 740i and he didn't know what he was going to do with it. How many of us were hoping it would go to Monkey Wrench Mike? A lot of us I'm sure. Might have been Randy's back up plan as well. I'm using Rock Auto a lot more myself for obscure, no one else has them, and if they do, not at such a good price. Parts for a 1984 Dodge B250 van, shipped to British Columbia, Canada in three days. The price was excellent including the shipping. Wonderful video Mike. I'm sure when it's all finished there will be willing purchasers if you sell it. If not I'll bet Lola will be more than happy to be seen being chauffeured about town in the car.
Had a five series that corporate style back in the days , rarely went wrong , but when it did !, still an extended warranty even covered things like a battery .
Did you check the fuel pressure, like with a gauge ? Cats plugged ? Run it open header. There is a tool to pry the door skin from the door. Helps keep the tabs in tact. BMW window regulators just suck. Nice series, Mike.
Mike when I retired I went to work for a hi end Limo company I friend of mine owens. We had 35 BMW 740li all less than a year old. We also had 25 Cadillac Escalade and 15 Mercedes Sprinter not a hard job riding around in these vehicles driving famous people
Pretty great to see this coming back to life! I was so hoping I could have snagged this for my channel, but it's in good hands. You say many times it's easier than a Benz to work on.. Do we have a convert in the house? HAH! Thanks or sharing Mike!
Hey Mike, I just wanted to let you know that I watched your video on the BMW today and I like what you did. I’ve been a fan of yours for a long time already and I know you know your stuff and I asked her know that you know Randy from Auto auction rebuilds that I follow on RUclips also so the next time you’re with him tell him that Danny said hi. I think you guys are very awesome and I also noticed did you know Michael from Santa’s workshop and T keys from TK’s garage, so can I follow all you guys on RUclips and I think you guys are great people I wish I could beat you, but on camera I think you guys are great people. Hopefully one of these days I get to meet you I’ll talk to you later. Have a good day.
I think the big Beemer would look amazing in a dark satin grey, slightly littered with some nice modern wheels. Side note how good did it sound with no exhaust and that lumpy idle! 😂 Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Alright Mike! Great job on the big Beemer! I watched Randy's latest before yours and he's got a 2009 GMC 1/2 ton, 4wd pickup with very minimal damage at his posted walk about. Maybe you you could investigate if he got it? Just saying... Jeff
Sounds like you got a sensor that is all arranged for not working confusing the computer on how much fuel and air mixture the engine needs check your lower your exhaust gas sensors at the catalytic converters and or the mass air answer might be dirty or broken
MWM can you come help me getting my 2000 750 IL running again in FT Worth please,Iv got two new batteries plenty of gas,but I’m getting no start,my fuel pump seems to be working
Mike working on cars not just buying them and paying for a detail then back to auction keep up the good work
Yes that other channel should change his channel name to auto auction walk arounds and sell.

Now now regular E38 740 aren't that expensive just yet. Maybe if it's a low mileage one. They're slowly appreciating though
You are a good teacher! Lola is paying close attention to what you do! She will know more about BMW's than some humans!
It's like a BMW birthday party video Mike! The presents just keep getting bigger and bigger! I'm lovin' the progress!!!
Mike, enjoy your videos, they are very informative. Always look forward to seeing Lola
Great job Mike!
Lola just loves hanging out with you!
What a sweetheart!
Hey Mike it sounds like the throttle position sensor. Try hooking up your scanner and you should be able to see if it is reading correctly or if it’s malfunctioning.
But Mike you are learning so much for your next Beamer 😆
Great work Mike !! You’ll have her running smooth as silk soon. 👍🇨🇦
Lola needs her own RUclips channel or Facebook page!! She's so cute!!
Lola really likes to be on camera. Maybe she got that from Mike jejejejeje
I don’t think she understands that Mike is filming-she hears him talking and assumes he’s talking to her.
@@kraignadjkovic5494 for sure that's the case I was just kidding
Lola is the best helper…..ever!😂

Hey my name is Clarence from North Carolina. I've been watching you since you started thank you very much for the videos you do. It makes my day not in the best health but always find time to watch you
Even when the engine still not running acceptable, this was a real good episode. I love that you want to go till the paint job at the end.
I remember this old girl from Randy. Hopefully you get it running and driving. Congrats on 40k!!
Nice tantalising opening piece to camera giving details of tasks to be performed. Mikey is clearly a natural communicator and skilled orator. I suspected the huge box contained a new engine! 😁
It’s nice to see some old cars with potential to get another lease on life.
The best part is when Mike says the engine runs much better, but engine cuts out...😂
My 2000 Honda accord has a simular window regulator with the added bonus of the window falling into the door at the most inconvenient time. Thanks for the great videos a big shout out to Lola!

Great mike the BMW is getting there you're saving a classic and it's good to watch keep doing what you're doing 👍
Mike, do I still hear a vacuum leak? Do you have a vacuum gauge to check the vacuum?
Nice. I have an an E38 in the same colour that I’m slowly bringing back. I think if I hadn’t bought it, it would have gone to the junk yard. you need to remove turn signal first, insert phlips screwdriver in hole in body drain area, then 2 2 screws under the headlight, then 2 on top.
As Lola patiently sits there and watches. 🐵🐕
It’s coming along and of course Lola big ⭐️ star
