Thank you for all the work and information put into the video. Loved the introduction, a bit saucy and certainly funny. What a stunning film. 💚 23:10 Myself think be interesting to see Copex Rapid stand developed in FX-39 II, however, I am in the states and got far too much to do as it is...
What do you know: I was looking for a review of Agfa Copex Rapid and found a new interesting photography channel. And for once not too far from where I live! Keep it up - I'm subscriber #211 by the way!
Another great video, Leo! Great photography as usual. Thanks for using my music and for the credit! Really makes my day to see it used on excellent productions such as yours!
Looking forward to it!! Just to clarify: the opening sketch is about many a film review on YT but certainly not your stuff, Alex! Maybe I should have included a list of channels that actually do solid film reviews... Better still, might do a review/roast of film channels later on 🤣
Very interesting. it reminds me of Kodak Technical Pan, except for the spectral sensitively, which seems to be reversed. Tech Pan was extra sensitive at the red end of the spectrum and much less so in the blue/ UV. Copex seems the opposite. Otherwise, both are super slow, super sharp and grainless, and they require special development to yield a continuous tone image as opposed to pure black and white. Back in the 1980s, I was in the Tech Pan cult, shooting that film in 35mm for very reasonable enlargement to 16x20 inches. However, while that sharpened the film exposure, processing and printing skills, it was a lot of extra work, so I went to medium format on conventional film stocks.
Yeah, I definitely can see how films like these could be a 'workaround' allowing for bigger-than-usual enlargements with smaller film formats. Never shot the Tech Pan, would be curious to try it!
Heard a lot of great things about POTA! As soon as I have a dedicated space for developing/printing (rather than my tiiiiiny bathroom in a shared apartment!), will definitely give it a try.
I use ACR in Clayton F76+. My worked out times are the same as your fx39ii. 1:19 for 9:30. I will drop it to 9:00 if there was a lot of highlights. Hopefully the price of this film stays low. :)
Coo! I've heard a lot of good things about Clayton F76+ and FA1027 (which, as I understand, is the same developer), shame they are pretty difficult to source in the EU... 😔
Generally interesting review. I love this film personally, shooting it at EI 25 and developing in Dokuspeed SL-N. Even with this dedicated low contrast developer however you still have to watch the SBR, treating it more akin to a slide film in that regard, otherwise highlights can quickly block up. I have to disagree with one point you made however: regarding there being "no industry standard" for measuring the resolution of film. This is incorrect, and there is a very well established such standard defined as lp/mm at a specified subject contrast ratio. Perhaps I misunderstood your point here and you were referring to a standard for the "megapixel equivalent" of film? If so then I would agree that is more open to interpretation.
Not a D-76 user, so hard for me to say... I'd expect it to perform somewhere between A49 and Rodinal in terms of contrast (and it would probably need to be a 1+3 dilution).

Thanks so much for watching and the kind words, means a lot! 🙏 I heard good things about stand development with FX-39 but have yet to try it.

Excellent discussion on film resolution!
Thanks, Jess!
Copex Rapid really enjoy this one, lots of useful information.
Thank you so much for watching!
That was very informative. Thanks for doing that...
Thank you! 🙏

Great job on the review. Thanks
Thank you for watching! Any idea on the films you'd like me to review next?
What a great explanation! Thanks
Nice review. You might try to develop it in POTA developer. Yes, you must mix it by yourself, but it's very cheap. :)

what about diluted d76?

is it Atomal stock or diluted ??
The link in the description to your Instagram is broken, just to let you know :)
