+lionheartx10 Just a quick note, you WOUNDED the ork legendary lord, I don't think it is possible to kill legendary lords, only wound them. Well it doesn't matter because the faction was rekted by some force of nature during endturn phase. Looking foward to more Empire Campaign vids.
PS: How do you intend on unifying the empire? through confederation or through brute force?

Awesome video man, I highly recommend you go west across the mountain into Bretonnia and take the entire region, Bretonnia doesn't have a full roster, they are super easy to defeat with a small army, then you can use that rich highland as your base, its also easy to defend ( With just one army near the mountain entrence you can defend 14+ settlements ) and Chaos invasion never goes into that area, it's the best position in the current game.

His lack of a beard is more an anomaly then anything else.
The Empire is based strongly off of the 16th Century Holy Roman Empire, and big beards with big impressive mustaches were pretty much the height of men's fashion during that time period.
I think Karl is clean-shaven largely to show that he is still rather young here, probably in his early 20's.
I know it's a bit late but I would guess Geltz is also beardless since, you know, a beard under that mask would be difficult to wear

Lionheart in regards to the Ork boss' weapon, they call it a choppa. Greenskins aren't exactly the smartest bunch, and their craftsmanship is really shoddy at best too. So when they make weapons they essentially just smash some iron pieces together and sharpen it on one edge. Think of it as a mix between a sword and an axe.

My impression about Orcs in the lore (yes, no k in Warhammer) is that they love to fight, but they don't enjoy losing too much. So if a fight starts to go poorly they just melt away.

All orcs and goblins are known as greenskins, their tribal hierarchy is based around their warboss/warlord and their preferred tactics in battle. As far as their weapons they use "swords" known as Choppas, and axes of various sizes, also known as Choppas.

This is mostly a role-play idea, but I would encourage you to consider not trying to annex all of the other provinces in the Empire, and instead try to knit them together through diplomacy and the like. Yeah, I can't deny that will probably be harder than wiping them all out, but I think that from what I know of the lore, the Empire is more of a tenuous collection of independent provinces than a unified superstate. Expand the realm's territory abroad (Bretonia might be a good choice, since they're right on your doorstep), but I think it would be a great roleplaying opportunity to see if you could unite the Empire through diplomacy rather than the whole "which count should I beat up next" kind of thing.
Just my two cents. Really enthusiastic to see where things go. This game looks fantastic!

+Ram Stones He might have, though it would be a possibility that he could forget a small detail like that in favor of doing what he normally does in these campaigns. Not saying it's bad, but it would be cool to see if he could pull off something different.
+LordMyron09 It would most likely be almost impossible to unite them all through diplomacy without killing some. By confederating with one, you'll upset one or two others, which makes them harder to unite. But I think he should at least try and get some through diplomacy.

Ambushes tend to be worth it with larger armies that you're trying to catch out and get a good advantage over however it's usually not worth the time if it's a smaller army that's not really a big threat. Hope this helped love the vid

Been Collecting Warhammer for 14 years and been playing Total war since its earliest days the hype for this game is real.
Have been waiting for the block to drop so others outside of the Dev team could show off the gameplay prior to release because in the nicest possible way as a Scot Joeys Accent was doing my head in after about 6 hours haha.

Hey Lionheart, what operating system do you use? I use windows 10 and have a ton of problems with crashing in every total war.

***** Medieval 2, Shogun 2 FOTS, Rome 2 and Attila. I have tried verifying game caches on all of them, and it worked for Medieval and Shogun but Rome 2 and Attila only work for about an hour before they crash again.

CaptainRightWing i guess you're using a laptop, the issue is probably your system specs are just too low. unfortunately modern total war games are very graphically demanding and your specs probably can't cope with it.

i like your strategy about flanking on the sides of ur enemy using the horsemen to charge then retreat and repeat the same process to minimize long range units and also using them to reveal hidden units because of restriced visibility jst like when they're hidden among trees. "See-session-ist" Spelt "Secessionist" not "Successionist". Succession is when you inherit a role due to be next in line to claim it; secession is when you withdraw from a party, or in this case Empire.

Well they have been a bit slow to help but at least they are trying to help me work it out right now. I get the impression that, as usual, SEGA doesn´t give a shit and forces CA to stick to the deadline regardless of whether the product is in a usable state or not.

Learned one thing so far completely by accident... Do NOT fight the Battle of Blodpine Woods. I guess it triggers the northern kingdoms to mess with you. I was involved taking the port to the west and then with the orc lair above it and since the Bloodpine battle has no time limit I just let it slide as I went through the pass at Helmgart to start taking the small Breton Kingdoms one by one and unlike the first 4 or 5 starts I was never bothered by any of the kingdoms to the north. Didn't even keep an army east of the mountains just piled through the pass and looted, plundered and captured lol...

You should call the swordsmen Altdorf's 1st Swords, then everytime you recruit a sword unit (after the previous died) increase the number to keep track of the peasant number slain! XD

Good early crossbow/gunner spam in the siege of Helmgart.

Mistakes:
Letting your cavalry get caught in the battle of Grunburg - good thing you got them out of it.
Suggested Actions:
Build up the defenses of Grunburg.
Recommend that Middenland be your next target for either conquest or diplomatic absorption.

I've been so busy that I couldn't watch lion for a while. I'm so glad to come back to such an anticipated and exciting series! keep up the good work
The thing about "Karl Franz and the Warhorse" really depends upon your playstyle. Although he CAN BE an awesome damage dealer it is best not to overestimate his efficiency early on. That will lead to him "dying" and thus wasting 3-4 turns until he is back again. You can just as well build him to be a "buffer of men" making the units around him much better ... and then a Warhorse is good for the added mobility.
Wolfsbane- Since you will most likely have to pacify the wolves of middleheim in the future.

I supposed that you can rename the whole army as well as you can rename yur different units (thats an amazing feature by the way!!! I already feels the mighty story of some of those units!!!). some ideas of name for some of your unit or for the whole army, because why not: "killer of the ressecionists ( if it is the name of that civil war faction you are currently battling against)"

I think that Orc was wielding a Choppa and Greenskins is an accurate description for all Orcs and Goblins.
You could name a unit "Hammer of the Emperor", maybe the Reiksguard.
Also, "Sigmar's Heirs", shamelessly taken from the unit barks ;P
Also also, those cavalry charges are the most satisfying thing I've seen in a long time.
1. When you get demigriff((not sure if I spelled that right)) Knights you should name a unit ''grey wardens'' 2. the lords for the empire secessionist have really bad ass looking swords
if you can re-name hellblaster volley guns your first one should be "Von Meinkopt's macro-mainspring of multitudinous precipitation of pernicious lead" ;)
Personally I consider getting at least the basic Warhorse to be a huge benefit for Karl. Maybe Route Marcher first but after that I don't think anything benefits your army more than getting a more mobile hero. Being able to chase down enemy units/heroes alone is worth it, never mind being able to more quickly flank and repostion mid battle. The idea of making him more vulnerable to spearmen just seems like a total non-issue to me. At least with Empire you don't need him to run face first into a spearman unit, you have swordsmen for that.

So I think considering you are the Empire the perfect name for the Armor Piercing Pistols would be the 501st Company (Vader's Fist), or the Silver Bullets, as you will be fighting vamps soon. It would be awesome if the Reikguard were named the Rohirrim, tips to your Third Age lets plays. Name one unit of swords The Emperor's Chosen, and then work on keeping them safe and veteran-ed throughout the lets play. Maybe one sword or spear unit The Son's of Leonidas, the epic Spartans. Also considering you demolished orcs, maybe one unit called Orcrists.Build the Reikgard's building in Helmgart, you've always had a lot of fun with Cav in past lets plays, and they shred pesky ranged troops.Amazing video. Cannot wait to see more.

You should name a regiment of heavy infantry: The Altdorf Foot Guard, and a regiment of heavy cavalry: The Altdorf Horse Guard, and an artillery battery: The Altdorf Guard Battery.
With two armies. You can raid with one smaller army. Then set the larger army on ambush and draw them out. This can split an army from its city.

I have been longing to play this game, and finally bought it yesterday on the Steam sale! After going through the tutorial though, I still have no idea what I'm doing.. So here I am.
some unit name ideas:
Heretic's Bane (cannon/rockets)
Acolytes of Wrath (halberds)
Mannan's Blades (a reference you should look up; would be for swordsman)
Sigmars Judgement/Justice (handgunners)
the Justiciars (handgunners)
Rolling Thunder (cav)
Whistling Death (crossbowmen)
the Sudden Fist (outriders or other gun cav)
Grimblades. They were a Reikland Halberd unit that fought alongside Prince Wilhelm against Grom the Paunch. Would be neat to see a historical unit be brought back to serve Reikland once again.
Ambushes is the best thing in the game, since the AI wont see you unlees they "find you". This will help avoid the "just out of reach" attitude

Coming back after so many years and just off of the latest WH3 update. It's interesting to see how much has changed, but also how much hasn't.
I think the funniest thing is how Lionheart is still new to WH and doesn't know the game well yet, and he's concerned about how dangerous Pistoliers might be.
Name one of the units "Sons of the Fallen" in honor of your third age dwarf campaign. Another could be "Sigmer's Might".
