Plugging in the cords at 4min is literally the only step anyone needs help with and you offer none. 8 minutes of annoying fluff and no instruction. How is this the linked Meross resource?
It's difficult to explain exactly because there are so many different garage door openers. Stick one wire in two different sections and see if it triggers. Like I mentioned, it's low voltage, so probably not going to cause any problems, but diy at your own risk.
Exactly. That’s the reason I came to this video and wasted the first 4 minutes until I realized that the video covered none of this part.
Love your sense of humour but, this video for useful instructions would be awesome without all the interruptions with unnecessary clips and music added.
Thanks for the feedback! It's hard to keep an otherwise boring review entertaining, so hopefully it was both instructional and entertaining. Also, I'm still not an expert on how to wire the thing, so there's that.

Nicely done. If the Meross is #1 we’re in trouble. I ordered 2 MSG200 garage openers. I can’t agree that they are durable since both units had to be returned to Amazon for replacement. On both units, the USB power adapter connection punched through its case and left it useless. The supplied 16 feet of wiring is way too thin and very brittle causing another replacement which required a RMA from e-mail tech support which takes days to respond. Your review is correct in saying it frequently drops from wifi (even with a mesh system and strong signal) and is difficult to get it back online. However, when it works, it works very well with your cell phone. Improvements should be made to this brand. Meanwhile, neither of mine are working while I wait again for an email reply from tech support. Made cheaper in China.
Good insights. I didn't have any problems with build quality; mostly just with all Meross devices dropping from wifi more often than other products.
It need Apple hub to use this garage opener ?
No, you should be able to use the manufacturer's app, but Homekit will give you more automation possibilities.
Found the problem! An update on my iPad which I was using as a hub removed it! Bought a HomePod which has hub built in, now working again!
Oh glad it's working! Thanks for sharing!
Hey that’s Hendry’s beach in SB! Also that’s for the video. Setting mine up this weekend.
Not sure I follow, but glad you liked it.
Is this a merantec comfort 220? I can’t find which cables I must connect. Can you help me? Because my remote receiver is with a utp input. And I don’t have a wall connector for opening the garage door.
I'm not familiar enough to speak intelligently on your situation. Maybe someone else here can help?
I have a homekit meross garage door opener, for months it showed up on my chevy infotainment screen using carplay and I could use it to open my garage door. About a month ago the icon that showed up in the carplay app on the infotainment screen would no longer operate. The app on my phone works fine but using carplay it no longer works. The icon still shows up on the infotainment screen but is inoperative. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but cannot get it to work anymore. Any idea why or can you do a video on this? Thanks!
I'm not sure. If it works fine on your phone in Home then it must be a sync issue with Carplay. You might try removing it from homekit and re-adding it again.
@@KylersStudio thanks, I have removed, rebooted several times and it still doesn’t work, what’s weird is that the icon in the infotainment shows that the garage door is open/closed but won’t operate it! Makes no sense!
What do I do if my garage door opener already has all four fuses in use? I can’t plug this in anywhere :/
Any help?
It's really hard to determine without seeing it or enough details, but it seems like you're talking about wiring the switch. You don't want to render your wall switch useless, but you could possibly put two wires in the same place. This is not electrical wiring advice, but you could potentially make the same electric trigger from one of either source.
That worked. Thanks!
nice review - though after about 6mos, mine has now decided to open and close randomly after I initially click in the app to open/close it - seems to have started happening just after the firmware 'upgrade' too.... tried different timer settings including changing trigger duration - may have to reset it all and start from scratch, bleh
Sorry about that! Not that I need to apologize for them, but no tech is free from bugs. I have had problems from their stuff disconnecting from homekit randomly. I seem to have to connect back to my 2.4 network and restart my hub. This stuff definitely isn't perfect yet.
@@KylersStudio yea, I get it - trying to work across the board on all types of hardware - I may reset it and connect direct to my router, rather than my mesh network (but everything else connected to the mesh, never drops)
@@antmon123 Interesting. Hey whtever works!!
@@antmon123 Oh that's good. Hopefully with Matter coming out, there will be a clear cut way of connecting everything; or better, just have everything seamlessly integrate without manual connecting.
How can i share to other mobile device?
I imagine you could login through the app on a separate device and the same login. Or you could share your HomeKit with another user. There are probably many ways.
What happens when there’s an internet outage?
Without internet or a local network running, You'll have to open it with the traditional rf remotes that we all know and ...well I won't say love because the range on them is not great either.
Great video. I don't have Alexa, but I do have an Iphone. Would I be able to just use Siri for voice commands?
Yes! Just make sure you get the homekit version. It works great with Siri; I use it all the time!
@@KylersStudio Awesome. Thanks for replying back.
@@Redneckboy991 Sure thing.
Does Meross make something similar to this for a gas fireplace?
That I'm not sure of. There are still some gaps in the market. I think manufacturers are afraid of the liability of controlling fire in the house, but someone probably makes similar things; I don't know of anyone making fireplaces smart yet though.
