Fun Fact(but someone probably said it already):Undertale was made by 2 people. Toby Fox did most of the work(most notably, all the songs in the game) and Temmie Chang helped with characters and sprites.
Crazy how one of the best games ever was made by 2 people.

nick, please, please do not let anyone tell you how to play this game or tell you you're "playing it wrong". trial and error is literally the entire point of the game, there is no wrong way to play it.

I understand if it was about "Detroit: become human" or another game where there would be a bunch of endings. but there is literally only one (the most boring) ending if you don’t do certain actions (kill everyone or don’t kill anyone) so I don’t see the point of this comment under this game, if you wanna full experience so don't kill. but now it's pointless anyway, he killed 🐸

It's nice to see someone going into their first run blind instead of just going "I'm going to get the (X) ending!". Like how the game was intended to be experienced.

If you restarted before progressing too far from now, you might even get a word or two from Flowey, but if it troubles you too much then don't have too. but you can
You can't spare bosses in this game before script, you can spare Toriel only after 26 click on the mercy button(and if you restart this fight and spare her you see something interesting)

that flowey dialogue means he's already played the game before and went through it and reset. it changes if you've already met him.
But he also got the "rules" and instantly went into name selecting. You only get that when you first start. It's possible he was just doing a little test footage and then shut the game around flowey. If he already played the game, he'd have to manually go into the files of his computer and delete that data fully. And.. I don't think he's big brained enough to figure that out

@@dynamo_starI know you like Nick and all, but it’s showed he’s at least gotten to or past flowey. Nobody is claiming he preplayed the entire game. There are 3 explanations for this.
1. He was just getting some test footage
2. He tried to play the game a long time ago but never got into it and quit a little after flowey
3. He preplayed the entire game.
These are really the only 3 things that could have happened.
He accidentally turned off the game during the intro that's why that happened
his first flowey interaction suggests he's played before

oh this is going to be good, watching Nick play this game will be a delight.
If you want a no spoiler tip to the endings, there are 3 (you can consider them good, neutral, and bad ends) with many variations on one depending on what you do in game, if you think about it you can probably figure out how to get them and im sure chat will be trying to tell you all the time, every choice can give you some mild variations on chat text throughout the game in different places so it is worth a replay but enjoy it the way you want and most importantly have fun my friend.
edit now that I watched through all of this vid. now since you were asking about some stuff a little bit of SPOILERS but I wont give away a whole lot like chat was trying just enough to answer what you ask if you want to read it.
Yes you can spare toriel, you did not do anything "wrong" though your choice to live with your decision is exactly how you "should" play. There is no right or wrong way to play it, only paths, and as I said there are 3 paths and if you really want I will give you the spoiler to that even further below, absolutely do not read it unless you just don't care, but you did not screw up your game you are just firmly on a path at this point, the path you chose can no longer get you to either of the other 2 routes either, this is the route that has the most variations though as everything you do can change it a little and honestly the route that most people will do their first time through, so enjoy it, live with your choices as you said and have fun, great way to look at it. If you do want to save time and do the least amount of playthroughs though I will add bigger spoilers now while not giving away the story, I will just give you how to get the endings and what makes the routes clearly defined nothing story related I absolutely do not want to ruin the game for you so I hesitate to even add this but that is why I am giving so many warnings.
BIG SPOILS FOR PATHS HERE
Path 1 = do not kill anything, act and spare on everything, never attack, though there are a few things I think you can and not actually divert your path, but it is safer to just say attack nothing.
Path 2 = attack some things, spare others. This is your current path. Many variations come from what you do now. The endings are pretty much the same here but with different epilogues, you'll see when you get there honestly.
Path 3 = kill everyone and every thing, I mean every single thing, until they stop appearing in battles for every area. Tip if you ever do this one, the save points will count how many are left at some point when it has realized you are doing this route. I actually accidentally did this one my first time through and do not recommend it as a first time, so glad you didn't almost do the same lol, you were heading down that way but you didn't kill all the ruins, just that dang frogit... long story short a lot of interactions are not present in this route, and the game seems easy and boring for a lot of it, terrible for a first playthrough, though it does have the hardest fights in the game near the end of it.
After you beat undertale I am begging that you also play the first two chapters of deltarune while it's not finished yet it's a ton of content that I need to see you play after this

Idk Nick, I never tought u faked reaction or prewatched things, but the flower had a dialogue that only does when u reload the file: "why did u make me introduce myself?" and the shit that he said after.
I'm not saying u prewatched maybe there's a reason for that, but in that case u really should explain why u did it. (Btw I'm only at the start of the video, if later on u'll discuss this thing than mb )
he probably joined to atleast set up streamlabs, he couldnt have gotten far because after he killed toriel flowey didnt say anything about him refreshing the save file, probably just walked into flowey's room and that's it

@@dalto5207 I was talking about the dialagoue at the start of the game, if u encounter him, get hit by his "friendly pellets" and to avoid 'em u reload the file, he says something like "why did u make me introduce myself?" and in general the dialogue changes, also the fact that he acts like he has a reason to dodge the pellets, I mean, I also dodged 'em in my first playtrough but that dialogue he got changes the cards on the board, cause it 100% means he already met him and reloaded the file

Actions do indeed have consequences. Anyway, the game is kind of split into 3 paths, two extreme routes and one for everything in between, with choices impacting how it’s affected

this is gonna be awsome. undertale is my top game of all time, right alongside with pokemon black and white. cant believe its been almost 10 years since it released, even just listening to the soundtrsck while nick plays brings nostalgia.

It's quite possible he accidently made a character before stream and had to quickly delete the save.

Chrono Trigger is another 16 bit anime game.
I recommend after you finish this run, you play a Pacifist Route which is when you befriend everyone and don’t kill anyone, after that is the Genocide when you kill everyone. You can keep making any choice you want in this route which is considered the Neutral route in which you may either kill or spare the monsters.

undertale is a masterpiece for indie games it's show that even if you don't have much money you can make a great game

the hope is that you enjoy the game enough to do the three different endings, which you will naturally go down without others backseating, and it shouldn't be boring because each has different content! woo for non-repetitive shit! stopping at the second ending would also be perfectly fine and incredibly encouraged! you're playing to the narrative, even if you don't realize it :D

I think some people aren't sure if Undertale is their type and play 5-10 minutes before actually deciding to record or stream, but at the same time Nick has so many people in his community who have called many of his reactions fake that maybe he should be careful with playing meta games, such as Undertale, beforehand
