You could make a whole video just for Final Fantasy. The inviz-death combo in FF6 for instance. Spells will always hit anyone with the invisibility status effect 100% of the time. And because it's considered a buff, not an attack spell, it also has a 100% hit rate. Meaning insta kill spells like death or X-zone will wipe anything that isn't straight up a boss if you cast inviz on them first.
Also in FF6 the magic evasion stat is bugged so that it counts the stat twice for both you EVA and M.EVA. wearing certain armors sets together makes you literally untouchable.
Also you can just re-roll Selphy's limit break in FF8 until you get "Rapture" or "The End" which insta-kills anything and everything up to and including the final boss.

In Final Fantasy 11, there was an item called "Kraken Club" that had incredibly low-damage for it's level (and Clubs were already a weak weapon archetype), but attacked randomly between two to EIGHT times each round. Most attack buffs in the MMO are/were percentage-based, so even putting all your buffs up would only boost you from "Incredibly bad"-damage to "very bad"-damage.
However, one class, Dark Knight, had two very specific buffs that outright broke the weapon. One buff consumed a % your own HP every hit for a 1-to-1 damage increase (ie. eat 100hp, get 100 damage), and another that healed you based on damaged dealt, also at 1-to-1. So you were hurting yourself for bonus damage, but also immediately healing yourself the HP you spent. Normally, Dark Knights weapons were super slow, and these buffed only lasted long enough for 4-5 attacks (and one ability had a TWO HOUR cooldown). But with Kraken Club and these two buffs, suddenly that "Incredibly bad"-damage became ~30 seconds of "Ludicrously good"-damage. Some of the earliest clears against the game's superbosses that were effectively unkillable otherwise were from having entire alliances of Dark Knights (18 players) club them to death in a few seconds.

Honorable Mention: Moxxi's Grog-Nozzle from the Borderlands 2/Tiny Tina DLC. It's a pistol you get for a specific quest that heals you when you shoot enemies (Most of her guns do this, but the Grog has a way higher percent rate). If you complete the quest you lose the gun. But, if you never finish the quest you can keep the gun for the rest of the game.

GTA's Vortex hovercraft working equally well - and, indeed, operating identically - on land and on water is actually completely realistic, because that's _precisely_ how they work in real life, because they float _over_ the surface on a cushion of air.

Gran Turismo probably should've never introduced the Red Bull Formula 1 cars as those have become the fastest vehicle in many of the games. Usually you have to work for them, but I remember buying GT Sport (or GT 5 Sport...whatever the PS4 version was), and it just automatically came with a code to get the Red Bull car. My copy wasn't even new, the prior owner who returned it to GameStop just didn't even care to redeem the code. ...Thanks? 😅. But I still had to unlock the Bugatti Veyron and my sibling ended up doing that for me as I lost interest in the game, lol. But I think the Red Bull car was still faster.
I did get my favorite trophy from the Bugatti, though. Both of us were racing each other in the car and on the final lap, we were so neck in neck, we kept drafting in each other's slipstream, which would then launch us ahead, allowing the other person to catch up. When we crossed the finish line, it looked even but it turned out, I'd won by one one-thousandth of a second. Then a trophy popped up for it. I remember my brother and I just cheering and high-fiving as it was a "team" effort, a win for both of us. It wasn't intentional and I didn't even know the trophy existed. Amazing moment 😊
By the way, I am NOT a good driver! I had pinged off of so many walls and slammed into concrete barriers at over 300 MPH so many times, the paint had scraped away to reveal the last two or three colors I'd painted the car! But the final part of the race was a straight-way, so that made things easier.

    A couple others from Oblivion:
    1) Bound Armor and Weapons. They were created and automatically equipped by spells you can learn relatively early on and had stats equal to Daedric (endgame) equipment... with the exception of weighing absolutely nothing. The intended balancing feature was that they would disappear when the spell ends. However, one of the stats carried over was item health, and they could get damaged and repaired just like any other equipment. Doing so unlocked the ability to drop the Bound stuff. If you did and then waited out the spell's timer, the Bound Armor or Weapon was now a permanent part of the game world, giving you some of the best gear in the game for no weight penalty. And then you could Enchant it to be even more broken. Speaking of...
    2) You could Enchant a weapon or any worn item (but we'll be focusing on weapons here) with any magical effect you knew a spell for. The most busted of these was "Weakness to Magic," because the Weakness was itself a Magic effect, meaning that it would stack on itself for more and more potency. Combine it with a low-duration "Drain Health" effect with both on a dagger, and a second or so of slashing would see even the beefiest enemies reduced to 0 HP and die.

A random one I've never mentioned before and never seen anywhere. In the Sims, there was early anti piracy tech that stopped people from copying the CD, or at least the game wouldn't start if you did. You could, however swap the CDs after the game started. If you did that, your sim's fatigue bars would drop waaaay slower. You could have your Sims study for days straight without rest, quickly maxing out stats. Good times!

I would add the Wrathbringer from Shadow of War. The sword's special power is to give some wrath when an enemy killed with the execute move. This effect works while wrath is active to increase time you can maintain it. However there is an aoe move which when used without element hits an enemy, then also give this effect to the sword. So if you are surrounded, then just AOE hit the enemies with that move, and you can refill your wrath near instantly. Which allows to maintain the game strongest buff for as long as you desire, or until you run out of enemies to fight entirely.

The horse in Skyrim is overpowered but I don’t think it’s in the top 10 fortify smithing is by far the most broken. On 1 play though I could not longer use weapons because the game couldn’t calculate the damage as it was to high. It made every enemy 1 hit. It made you invincible, it allowed you to carry unlimited Items. Then the cheats glitch allowed you to become filthy rich. With all of that you could one shot the final boss almost as soon as you teleported.

In Assassins Creed: Odyssey, the mastery levels include a perk "Chance to deal assassin damage on hit". Assassin damage was basically meant to be a single powerful attack done from stealth, but this made it usable in open combat. Because assassin damage is so much higher than warrior damage, this turned it into a second, far stronger type of critical hit. And to really maximize it, you could use daggers, which hit rapidly, maximizing the chances to trigger.
It later got nerfed to do only 25% of your assassin damage, but it's still very much worth putting points into.

The humble Laser Rifle in Fallout New Vegas would fall into this category as well. It was designed as an early/mid game energy weapon which would eventually be discarded for wilder ones like Plasma weapons or gatling lasers. Instead all the extra attatchments it can mount turn it into a top 10 in the game damage machine but with specs of reliability durability ease of use Rate of fire effectivness at all ranges and every conceivable situation with common ammo that no gun matches. All the other energy weapons have problems with some form of durability accuracy at range ammo consumption or massive damage drop-offs against armor that the laser rifle literally never has to worry about and only some equally OP melee weapons match its damage output

Knowing the insane rulebending stuff you can do in D&D with the right combination of "useless" magic items, I don't think the Reverse Rain Cloak combo was an accident at all. If anything, it makes it feel more like actual D&D.
Also, on the Skyrim bit: The Spiffing Brit has shown many times that PLENTY of items can shatter the balance of that game entirely, even more than the horse.
Also also, while the Crissaegrim's power was unintentional, they apparently weren't disappointed with it, as it has appeared in other Iga Castlevania games virtually unchanged, just under different names.

Using realistic physics engines in games can be a bit tricky when your main characters/cars/whatever uses various values for them. I remember the old MechWarrior games, while you had to mod them through the files to get the effect usually, could have some pretty funny results. If you put a powerful enough engine with a low enough weight, it actually did the physics calculations pretty realistically. You could get up to insane speeds that it would dutifully try and render (the edge of the world seemed to loop back to the other side, so you'd go flying and see the same few landmarks repeating as you cleared the entire map a couple times a second). I'm impressed they made it that realistic, and they did a good job of not allowing those values normally in the game. But it also meant that one little incorrect figure could have some really funny results rather than just being like most games and saying nope, the player is never going to go beyond 200% or 50% (or whatever) of the basic game speed. Potentially buggy, but it makes it that much more fun.

Soul Trap + Jack Of All Trades spells in Morrowind.....You break your stats and can talk to Dagoth Ur, one hit everything (especially Cliff Racers) run from Seyda Neen to Red Mountain in 30 seconds and are able to be unkillable and all from two spells, one brought in Seyda Neen (staring town) and one from the Balmora Mages Guild (usually first town visited in the story)

Did someone actually test some of those exploits? Gothics Dragon Snapper Scroll indeed turns you into a neigh invicible beast that can clean out the entire first map. It definitly doesn´t cause "the rest of the game to be on easy mode". Here are 2 important facts:
#1 Enemies don´t respawn. Later Acts might spawn additional enemies but everything that´s dead is dead so it´s best to kill everything yourself instead of say letting a follower kill something and therefor deprieve you of the XP.
#2 The XP for each transformed state is saved seperatly. Meaning while you could in theory become double your transfomred form HP (rise with level), you never will increase your damage. Worse since the XP are now effectivly locked you can´t use them for your actual character where you would be able to eventually outperform even the Dragon Snapper in any field.

Pre nerf tigris prime in Warframe.
It is a double barreled shotgun that does high slash damage firing 8 pellets with a 30% status chance. Now the interesting thing about status chance on shotguns inwarframe is it is for all the pellets. So at 30% if you hit with all pellets there will be a 30% chance of inflicting a single status effect. There are mods you can put on weapons that multiply status chance by 3.4 and 30 x 3.4 > 100 so it has a 100% status chance. So that each shot of the weapon is guaranteed to cause a status effect, no each pellet is guaranteed to cause a status effect, that is 8 status effects per pull of the trigger. Now slap multishot on and you create 20 stacks of debuff. The status effect associated with slash is bleed which creates a dot based on the damage of all the pellets. You are creating 10 of these per trigger pull.

That reminds me of the Facepuncher from Borderlands 3. The gun does melee damage, so anything that triggers by meleeing an enemy is much more easily triggered by the gun. There's also a legendary artifact that combines the Cutpurse (melee to steal ammo) and White Elephant (melee to apply sticky bomb). Combine that with the Facepuncher, and you've got an infinite ammo sticky bomb launcher.
The follow-up, Wonderlands, also has the equivalent of the FP in one of the DLCs, and a slightly expanded melee system, so that one also has great potential to be a monster.

Important part of why those slash stacks were so obscene: slash damage ignores armor, meaning enemies had no damage reduction against it. In a game where armor scaling was (and as far as I am aware still somewhat is) the only reason enemies don't get one shot all the time.

    • @_Sinduss
      @_Sinduss 12 дней назад

@@Sorain1 it's less about not being able to one shot and more the amount of damage resistance armour gives in high level content. High level enemies would have 99.99% damage resistance (I am not exaggerating here they really had this much damage resistance). This is why most weapons ran corrosive or you would stack the aura that reduces armour by 30% to get 100% armour reduction.
You are correct slash ignoring armour is one of the things which made it great as it allows tigris prime to use virus instead of corrosion which effectively doubles the damage of the slash dot.

Fuel: The Iron Bear. Best vehicle in the game, due to being able to effectively make 90 degree turns, thanks to its insane break mechancics. This allows you to cheese many turns in the game that other vehicles (even the harder difficulty AI ones) simply can't handle as well (with many of those, even the semi-cheating AIs, going flying off the occasional cliff). Additionally, it can be used on ANY RACE due to the "choose any vehicle" glitch in the game. It's especially comically OP against motorcycles, being able to simply run them over without stopping, or causing a pile-up of the at a choke point in the track, which will allow you to win by a very large margin.

Gothic hat a lot of mechanics that when well used got you a huge adventage.
There were a Orc in the woods around Korhinis that had a ring that decreased your strengt by 10.
The catch is that lerneing Strengt needed more and more lerning pionts. One could spend 1, 5, or 10 at once.
So if Str needed 2 lerning points to rise your strength one point if zo already have strength 20. you could save points by leveling up from 19 to 29 by just using 10 points.
when you put on the ring zou are again on level 19 and can save another 10 Points.
Dont remember clearly how to get taht ring from that orc. could involve taht Snapper Scroll?
Gothic 1 and 2 were brilliant. Zou could Sneak around some dangers and thinks.
That made the game feel real, it wasent like play a new area free zou could go there but very likely die, but not if you knew waht zou were doing.

    Yeah because 980hp is slow
980hp alone is enough to win any race.
Adding the turbo just made it more stupidly easy.
Also what they didnt mention is, once the car starts accelerating uncontrollably, if there is nothing to stop you, the car will reach the speed will hit the 32bit signed integer and the game will crash.
But the thing is, you need to make it so the car will wheelie to start with by lowering front downforce, keep it stock or increase it, this wont happen.

that "magical throwing axe that always returns blade first" reminds me of a weapon in "Icewind Dale 2", a magical throwing axe that always hits the target handle first.
it's silly, BUT potentially useful against that terrible "Crystal golem" boss, who can ONLY be hurt by "bludgeoning" type damage!
PS: later in the game there's an annoying part where ONE of your characters has to defeat a bunch of enemies with NO WEAPONS OR ARMOR.
it's almost impossible UNLESS you START the game with at least one MONK class character in your party, THEN it's doable.
-to be fair, the game has lots of pre-made parties, each of which includes a Monk...
#4 some Speedrunners like to do a weird glitch called "horse leaning".
if i remember correctly, you get a horse into a head-down position, save the game, then load, then get off.
if done correctly your character will go FLYING through the air at super-speed!
the main problem is LANDING, if you hit the ground at a LOWER height than you started, you will take FALL damage, which can be fatal.
#3 in the game "Battlefield 2042", it WAS possible to drive a hovercraft UP THE SIDE OF A BUILDING.
it probably got patched, i don't know.
