    As someone that sews her own clothes often, i highly suggest to everybody that wants to do this to either learn how to handsew a simple stitch to create a sturdier hem than rolled up fabric so that your new shirt will last longer, or buy online what is often refered to as a fabric stapler, which is basically a handheld sewing machine that will create a single line stitch for you effortlessly

    • @emilypham7397

      Hi, if you don’t mind me asking, I always felt cutting clothes was daunting to me. This video kinda encourage me try but the issue I faced was cutting straight because the fabric keeps bunching when I cut how do you combat that I guess?

    • @Basmuth
      @Basmuth 29 дней назад +13

      @@emilypham7397 Honestly, holding the fabric slightly taut (Pulling on it slightly) and going slow helped me. Yes but as someone who has the same issue but can wear chokers it's because it's a different feeling it gives. A shirt is a whole shirt and rubs all over and the neck line it usually is at is not the same place you put a choker and chokers usually stay in one spot and rarely move so it doesn't irritate as bad.

    I did this to soooo many tshirts back in the day. You did a great job explaining and showing where to cut. The only tip I can give to anyone trying it, cut way less then you think you need to. Stay as close to that original neckline, like she said just about an inch is all you need. I don’t know how many I cut too wide and would fall off my shoulders all the time. Once you learn your perfect spot to cut then you’re set and can repeat on all your other shirts.

    Be careful too because without a seam, the fabric can still tear (even with rolled edges). I thrifted a tshirt that had cut sleeves and there were tears down the side (from the sleeve no longer having a seam)
    Edit: I do understand that the seams are the problem in this case. My comment is simply a warning that fabric does not last as long or well without a seam. So if you’re like me and tear everything you wear, by careful lol
