    This girl being so excited about moths makes me want to start a new special interest. I miss going to the insect house in our park. After lockdown threw off all routines and them preparing for the big flower show event next year, the park was closed for so long, I dont know what to expect when I go there again.

    The one where she was talking about death was so true. I hate change, and my Dad passed away one year ago in May. I couldn't bring myself to cry, I was just devasted. But the thing I would lie awake wishing every night was that he could've lived because everything changed after that.

    3:15 so I strongly believe that I'm autistic and am looking into it with my therapist next week, and this one actually helped me a lot. When my granddad died, I wasn't sad or anything otherwise. I didn't grieve one bit, and I thought I was mean and broken. The thing that did make me sad was how it affected my family. Then again, my grandad was not a nice person so I always passed it off as that. Seriously, my life is beginning to make sense now.

      and when my favorite doggy in the world died, i watched my suster scream and cry and the rest of my family get really upset, while i just went back to doing whatever i was doing, later that night i cried partially cause i missed the dog but mostly because i felt broken for not haveing a reaction like them

      @acethepacifist1041 It stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. According to this creator, it is not dissimilar to dog training and does not help the child learn how to self regulate or deal with their autism. Furthermore, it basically only trains obedience and puts the children in great discomfort.

      @@acethepacifist1041it's a kind of torture disguised as "therapy" for autistic people (I think especially kids but don't trust me on that). • @SpiritaeliaWolf
      @SpiritaeliaWolf 7 месяцев назад +8

      @@acethepacifist1041I don’t know much about ABA so I’m probably not the best person to explain. But I believe ABA is a type of autism behavioural therapy, and their methods from what I’ve seen are quite poor and often not very autistic friendly. Some videos I’ve seen of it, it looks way too much like dog training. Its gross.
      and boundaries of the autistic person are often ignored, for example in some ABA there is a “reward” system for doing something right, and their reward can be: loudly cheering, or touching, or shoving a treat down the kids’ throat-doesn’t matter if the autistic person does not like this as they will, quote: “learn to like it,” according to ABA. Yuck!
      My knowledge is only based off a few videos I’ve seen though.

    I was shocked at how relateable that grief one was. I have similar experiences with grief as well. Even when my fiance had to deal with the death of a yard cat at his work I didn't feel anything for the cat and was only focused on comforting my fiance at the time. I did get upset later, when I was alone cause I realized I wouldn't get to interact with the cat again and that I had actually held her for the last time earlier that day. From an autistic person: no matter if someone is verbal, non verbal, whether you think they’re “all there” or not, please don’t talk about us like we aren’t in the room. It’s extremely weird and awkward for us. Autistic people are way more in the moment than you may think & are completely aware of our surroundings. Even more than you are. Just because he didn’t know what a leash was doesn’t mean he can’t hear or understand what his parents are saying about him. Even though they weren’t particularly rude or demeaning, it felt a bit like they were infantilizing him.

    The moth woman is so very highly relatable!! I react exactly like that when I get to open a package I ordered and I'll love. I also very much understand what she's talking about when it comes to death and it sounds funny because to me that's exactly what everyone is sad about when they lose someone. She's not weird at all. She just words her sadness way more accurate and directed than a lot of people. Not sad that person is dead, but sad because of everything that will change now they are dead. So to the point!!

    I think I might have autism (I've already been diagnosed with ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder and depression) but my psychologist said I can't be autistic because, and I quote 'you don't have a monotone voice or face and autistic people can't feel anything and I don't like that diagnosis because it has been made broader over the past few years' . I have like nearly every other symptom and I do talk in a monotone voice a lot when I talk to people I'm comfortable with, but now my mother won't take me seriously anymore.

    • @fatalecherie
      @fatalecherie 10 месяцев назад

      Your psychologist sounds like they are full of 💩, and I doubt they know the first thing about Autism. Autistic people (I'm Autistic) feel everything, and sometimes we feel emotions more intensely than neurotypical people. A lot of us just have a hard time identifying our emotions.
      Self diagnosis is valid, so don't let anyone try to make you feel like you aren't.

    The one about grief made some things make sense as well. The death itself isn't the upsetting part, it's the change and not being able to see them anymore. Like, when a cat of mine passed away years ago, I was too shocked to really be sad. It hit me weeks later when not being able to see her, and pet her anymore got to me more than her death.

    Loss hits me hard but it’s true it’s not the death itself. They are just gone, they just don’t exist anymore. What hits me is the impact they had on everyone and how they won’t anymore. That you will not see or hear their voice again, see them doing anything etc.
