I think women are scarier because they are associated with being gentle, nurturing, loving, parental, etc. It's usually men that are thought of as being violent, powerful, and scary. Also, when it comes to scary women, it seems to generally involve mental health, or at least a deviousness... psychological attacks rather than physical, manipulation, surprise, the unexpected.
My ex-gf introduced herself to me on a public bus, twice starting the convo in two times meeting each other over two months, separate occasions. The second time I asked her out on a date & from then on, we got together very quickly. One day, maybe around 2 months or a bit less into us being together, she shows me a video on her phone. I see myself sitting in said public bus, being filmed from a seat looking the opposite way but around 4 rows of seats down from my own. The camera followed me a bit outside even and when I walked out of view, not once even looking into its direction, the video stopped. I obviously was baffled, but importantly, I looked at the date: the video was taken two whole years before she had even talked to me once. So she admitted by herself to filming me on that day and from then on, having s**ual fantasies about me / us for over two years before finally talking to me. Now it’s about what she did after filming me, for the whole two years she had been „watching“ or „observing“ me ; she would start writing down when / where I‘d get off / on the bus and sometimes run or wait for an earlier / later bus to see me as often as possible, (which means she‘d sometimes wait for half an hour up to an hour because the bus line only drives this frequent, just to eventually see me), she was able to describe my friends well enough for me to know exactly who she saw me with, she would frequent spots or places in the city more often when / if she saw me there, especially multiple times, like in the library, lastly she would mirror me, if I was waiting for the train on one side of the tracks, she would basically stand face to face to me, vis-a-vis and when I would walk she’d do the same on the opposite side all of the above for two years from the first day she had seen me on said bus, until talking to me at all And again that’s just what she admitted by herself. Also she kept admitting to say one detail of the above, then check for my reaction, even being amused at my surprise etc, then reveal something new, so I found out about all details in the period of 1-2 weeks of her telling me bit by bit She told me she was looking for a serious long-term, loving relationship as well, just as I was, told me she loved me more than anything or anyone every day and that she was sure about wanting the relationship, then broke up with me when her mother passed away, from one day to the other, confirming what I should have known before already but was too blind to see: „Sorry, I just can’t Imagine us spending time together without having s**“ „Idk why but I just lost my feelings for you and even if I knew why and we had a solution for the problem, I would still not want to continue because I just don’t feel like it anymore“ „Most of the relationship was good, at least I’m not afraid of s** anymore“ and lastly „Just look at our relationship as if it was an expired phone contract“ She wanted to spend almost all the time we spent together in private in bed, yk „exercising“ not just chilling, apart from family gatherings, going shopping & eating maybe once (to be fair it was covid time when we started dating but still) before, then going back home and immediately engage in bed sports again. She only wanted to meet me once a week in person, visiting usually from around 2-3 am until 9-10 in the evening, then go home, she never slept in the same bed with me even tho I really wanted to. For the record, I let her decide by our agreement what we did since her mother was in her last states of dying from cancer, so I just wanted to be there for her & I would lie if I said I didn’t enjoy it either but even for me, at that time 21 years old( she was 20 yrs old) and with almost no prior experiences, it was a bit much at times. We would facetime pretty much every evening tho and snap/text a lot during the day and even then, 70% or more of what we texted/ snapped and / or talked about, she would turn s**ual at some point. I mean I had 200+ nu.des of her in less than 3 months of dating & being together.. plus the s**ting plus the FaceTime sessions..

@@nothingnewunderthesun4292I’m a woman and I was thinking if I had been you and heard how she creepily stalked you I would have broken up with her after she admitted stalking me for 2 years…
@@thekillshotsplay1082 I was so much in love with her. I just couldn’t or didn’t wanna even imagine leaving her or continuing my life without her as before. I had everything ppl are looking for really and almost destroyed my life with that decision. I‘m glad I am still here to type this because I almost died from over 10 times overdosing and I still struggle with the aftermath of my addiction & lusting after the feeling the drug gave me but even more so, the feelings she gave me. I often wish I could feel like this for anyone else but until now I still can’t. During that time I was totally ignoring all warnings and red flags, so you as a woman would say, that what she did was stalking and creepy? See, my brain can still not fully grasp it or look at it objectively. Partially she did a great job as well by playing it down at all times & waiting a day, a few or even a week at times to tell me another detail of what I had written about the „stalking“ and everytime she would make it sound like a very „lighthearted, silly“ kind of thing she did when she was fantasizing about us.. well you know what it was about.. I only later on found it a bit weird after the relationship had been long over. I imagined if the roles were reversed, so say, if a guy did that to a woman instead of the opposite way, then I thought it was a bit creepy but I still deflected it in my head. So yea I wonder, do you think it 100% was stalking AND creepy?
Laura and Anima are such amazing villains, very disturbing as well (their death animations made me look away more than once)... I'm happy to see that The Evil Within duology is still getting love, I adore those games
I’m playing them throughly for the first time. It’s a shame I don’t enjoy the beginning of evil within 1 (the village) yet throughly enjoy 2 from the beginning which I can see is the reason I gave up on 1 and I gave up on 2 with not playing 1 but I’m going to stick with them and hope they improve
Laura... Aka Spider Beeresh... Rubin's sister, who was burned alive while they were playing in the barn. The townspeople were angry with the wealthy Vuctoriano family. Rubin survived, but was horribly burned. Laura pushed him out of a window before she died. He became obsessed with bringing her back
Thanks. I knew she burned in the barn and I was mad he didn't mention it. I know he was only talking about imaginary Laura, but still… At least it explain her weakness.
I think this game would've been a banger if the characters had more personality, I mean they have little to no personality, I mean I like Sebastian but I wish he was more than just a macho detective, the characters needed to be flushed out more.
Oh my god Alma was my favorite game antagonist growing up. She was by far the coolest one i'd seen but that could mostly be because I thought it was cool for a little girl to have powers. Now that I'm older I really feel for her and totally get her anger after rereading and replaying the games and understanding her backstory.
Some other mentionable female antagonists are the shrine priestesses Kirie, Sae, Reika, Sakuya and Ose of the five Main Fatal Frame games. Also Lisa from the Resident Evil 1 Remake and that girl from Pacify. Plus there is actually a Juon game with Kayako.
I’d say Sae Kurosawa from Fatal Frame 2 qualifies for this list. All of the primary antagonists in the series are terrifying female ghosts with very tragic backstories that set them apart from each other, but Sae’s has the added twist of her being insane in death. She’s a laughing lunatic, who along with the Kusabi slaughtered her entire village and anybody who stumbles into it afterwards. Like Anima, for most of the game she’s also a one-touch kill (the entire game if you play Easy or Normal mode). She’s also a pretty symbolic specter, thanks to the 1/2 bloody butterfly wing handprints splattered across her kimono. But yeah, one of the most chilling sounds in all the Fatal Frame series is Sae’s loud, shrill peals of laughter as she stands amidst dozens of bloody, brutalized bodies.
i'd also like to add someone from Fatal Frame The Blinded Woman from Fatal Frame 1 you have to fight her 7 times and because she's blind she can hear you really well so you have to start every fight with her at an advantage because if you lose that advantage even for a moment you might be dead.
@@karencorey290 The blinded women scared the CRAP out of me when I was a kid. The idea she was blinded by a ritual mask that had two spikes through the eyes, and she's in misery, wandering in darkness, JFC. Fatal Frame never gets the credit it's due. It was a terrifying franchise.
Thanks for giving some backstories for each character. I played Lucy's chapter three times, and this is literally the first time I discovered her story. I'm not good at concentrating on stories in psychological horror games because I'm busy surviving. 🤣
There's a christmas indie horror game called "Crimson Snow" that has a creepy female antagonist. She is the insane, pyschotic, ex-girlfriend of the protagonist, terrorizing him and his current girlfriend on the night of Christmas Eve.
I was gonna comment the same thing if she wasn’t mentioned in the video. She was so unhinged and I liked how it was mostly a stealth-based game until later towards the end.

@@nothingnewunderthesun4292 oh my god, dude. I'm really sorry that happened, and that she was so toxic and cold during the break up. Speaking as another woman your ex sounds like an absolute psycho.
I got residual PTSD watching that segment of Laura from the Evil Within. The final boss first with her is one of the most terrifying and stressful boss fights I've ever done.
How can you forgot a women who is very tall, lanky middle-aged woman with light blue eyes, a gaunt inflection, pasty skin, black stringy hair, and black robes draped on her like rags and is barefoot. She also wields a crudely made pickaxe shaped like a crucifix with a spiked pommel with a rosary wrapped around it and a glowing, fiery orange incense burner at the top of the weapon. Her name is Marta from Outlast 2.
I think the Mary / Maria final boss in silent Hill 2 is a pretty underrated female villain. Her design is terrifying, and the symbolism behind her character is one of the best I've seen in any horror game
Anima definitely deserved more time wandering about the town in the evil within 2 than she got. I think I only came across her a couple times out in the open.
I read an interview with the director and his was his debut game and basically admitted that making a game was a lot harder then he thought and there was a lot of stuff he wanted to put in there that had to be cut, I've always theorized that the anima is a manifestation of ruvik and originally had a much larger role.
Great list. These horror ladies all gave me many heart attacks and they truly made their games memorable. Special shoutouts to Sae Kurosawa from Project Zero/Fatal Frame and Daniella from Haunting Ground. The Sae chase segment in Crimson Butterfly is one of the most terrifying moments as you're truly defenceless against her in that time and that laugh.. Oh god, that laugh. Daniella's theme is like something out of Drakengard. Her AI is smart, she's fast and her fixation on Fiona comes together nicely to make a really memorable pursuer.
I know this kinda old hat at this point but… Lisa 100% deserves to be number 1! She is without a doubt the most terrifying antagonist PERIOD (male or female) that I have encountered in ANY piece of horror media (whether that be games, books, or even movies). Every single time I saw her in game or heard one of her spine chilling moans the hairs on the back of my neck would instantly stand up…
I hoped Mother Gooseberry was there from The Outlast Trials but not 😢. She's the most terrifying antagonist of Outlast. Having an advanced sunburned skin and an actual "face" mask stapled to her skin and a duck puppet that she sees as her father. Her puppet is actually a drill and she drills the bad children who disobeys her. Sometimes she carve someone's face to be worn by a child mannequin that she treats like her child. She has multiple personality disorder brought by an abusive father and his demise. She, now, terrorize Trial environments preparing to dig in the entrails of misbehaving children, let alone put someone in a large meat grinder
Actually, regarding Belle’s story, she didn’t exactly misused the spells per se. She successfully casted the Lechery Jinx on Shane, making him interested in her, but at the cost of him being possessed. And she was able to cast the Cursed Nails Jinx on Cherry. But Cherry, with the help of a monk, was able to remove the curse, which then rebounded onto Belle, cursing her tenfold. As a result, Belle died from her own curse, and poor Shane, still under the influence of the jinx, killed himself, so as to be with her.
laura is a super strengthened version of sadako, who has two more arms and is with a bigger size. oh, you forgot that dead/ghost wife of the protagonist of the superb taiwanese horror vidgame, DEVOTION
Laura actually has no blade. Those are claws. She has four clawed hands and two shoed feet. She is the reimagined sister of Ruben. She died in a fire saving Ruben, giving her both her screams and her weakness to fire.
One you might've wanted to add, maybe as an honourable mention, is Danielle from Haunting Ground. She's considered one of the most disturbing characters in horror gaming and for good reason - she practually stole the show in Haunting Ground.
These were definitely creepy. Another scary female antagonist was Sae from Fatal Frame 2. Her laugh and aggressiveness sent chills up my spine. Thanks for sharing this vid.
I think Laura was part of the second theory, if I remember correctly in the flashbacks during the game, doesn't her screams have the same voice as the Sister did when the fire happened during them? also the fact that FIRE ITSELF defeats her I feel is symbolism enough. This is MY OPINION, but I do feel it is supported within the game itself. LAURA FUCKING TERRIFIED ME THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED IT!
The Anima is supposedly a creation by Sebastian’s daughter (the power of Union) because, while she doesn’t perceive that she is being harmed, she knows something is wrong.
Laura and Anima are my favorites, I played Psychobreaks, Anima's voice on PS4 controller speaker gave me chills. and Laura, I feel sad for her about what happened to her and how she died
As an adding, Kirie from Fatal Frame, Claudia from Silent Hill 3, the maid from Haunting Ground. So much great feminine antagonists we can't name them all. For those who are curious, the japanese games are inspired by folklore and especially the popular J-Horror figures like Sadako and Kayako. The ghosts in japanese legends are often females, like Oiwa-sama, you can see some of these features in the characters in games. For western games, I've always noticed that the ghost females shared features with the gothic ghost stories popular at the end of the XVIIIth century, and also modern fantasy like Stephen Kings Carrie which represents the archetypal "feminine horror" by its symbolism. It's fascinating to see how games are the living experience of all these references. Thanks for the video.
I've played the original trilogy but not the 3DS game, Lunar Mask, or Maiden of Black Water. But (correct me if I'm wrong) aren't all the main antagonists women?
Yes, you should make a video about the male ones. I'm curious about a list of them because I feel like I don't remember the big ones, especially in indie games.
The one type of intimidation women are vastly better at than men for me is this kind of intimidation though. The horrific kind. The incomprehensible kind. I don't think the male antagonists will hold up. But we'll see.
The evil within kind of gives me the chills entire game the fact that some spirit not only attacks you but put puts you in some kind of nightmare, world and then you have to escape only to realize you’re in both the dream world and in the real world scares the shit out of me all the time
Sounds like Lucy’s backstory has inspiration from the story of Robert The Haunted Doll. If the child was ever accused of something bad, he would always tell his parents that Robert did it.
Laura isn't that bad when you actually fight her properly. What you'll want is the fully upgraded version of the basic harpoon round. Because it's incendiary. Also the explosive rounds and perhaps a shotgun. Set all the bodies on fire just as she spawns out of them.
FEAR is fucking terrifying. I played it in college and was intrigued by the demo and then ended up playing all of FEAR 1 and 2. I skipped out on 3. The horror seemed to have dissipated with one much like it did with Dead Space 3. Granny is scary AF too. I was so impressed with it as a mobile game. I stopped (re)playing it when they updated it and expanded the house. Marg from RE7 also freaked me out too. I dreaded the levels where she looks for you. The bugs didnt bother me but she did. Especially when she was crawling around in the rafters in her boss battle. She is a close second to Jack stalking you in the halls with a shovel or weapon. And of course good old Lisa. No words needed. Good list. I am gonna check out the other games on your list!!!
What do you mean Laura's origins aren't explicitly revealed in the game?????? There is an entire cut scene showing her backstory and how she died burned in a barn after saving her brother (the main villain of the game). Not to mention the many notes mentioning her... Have you played the game?
Thanks for the list of crazy games I need to look up play throughs for now! 😂 I’m way too scared to play these games myself, but damn I love me a good scary game. Some of these looks pants filling levels. Wtf. And yes, you are correct, Granny is based on an actual, well, Granny. The real woman is juuuuust as batshit crazy looking. It reminds me how ghosts and monsters are scary and stuff, but it’s hands down humans that are the scariest. Your lists are always awesome. Thanks!
Btw, Alma, due to her imprisonment and torture in the process of experiments, went crazy, and so, there are two personalities of her: vengefull monster and mother that wants to protect her children from harm (red girl). That`s why she acts differently when she apears in 2 different shapes. Red girl shows you they way while the monster goes straight for you. Btw, you sould`ve included Nicole from Dead Space)
Female/feminine horror is always just a different breed, WHEW! ❤ Ur right the female version of anything in games is usually amped up. Even outside of horror, female bosses can be more difficult to fight, more creepy/off-putting, etc. It’s highly interesting to think about why it’s so effective everytime (I sure know I’m a sucker for it!!❤)
My friend and I got Silent Hills P.T. the day it came out on the store and we were not ready. When we first saw her in the hallway after turning the corner we both at the same time said "nope." It was something we never felt before from a horror antagonist and as we kept playing somehow (we took MANY breaks to calm down) we were holding our breath the whole time. The "puzzles" were so much harder because we were so scared she could attack us any moment. The first time we died we switched to RUclips for a good minute and watched funny videos lol. The graphics blew us away; the realistic textures of the game made it so scary. We finished over a week because we were always so scared playing it and kept dying. We watched a video after finishing and we missed SO much hidden stuff. Honestly greatest horror experience we ever had. It actually low-key prepared me for scary games like Visage and The Wife.
tbh i think all the Fatal Frame Antagonists: Kirie Himuro, Sae Kurosawa, Reika Kuze, Sakuya Haibara, and Ose Kurosawa could clear this list because of their tragic backstories and how terrifying they are to deal with ( especially the latter 4 since they're are sections where you just need to run from them ). Though not seeing Claudia Wolf or Mary/Maria from Silent Hill was surprising considering. Oh and then there's Forbidden Siren's Hisako Yao with an insane backstory... or Tomoko who you actually play as but she becomes a 1 chapter antagonist to a heavy stealth section of the game. Oh and let's not forget Mary Barrows from Clock Tower or Daniella from Haunting Ground! Horror game antagonist females usually outclass the males by a definite mile at least.
I didn't intend to watch this at all but I did... I said I'd just take a peak cuz I'm not really a fan of horror. But curiosity and all that. So many diff. characters and I shat my pants each time. Thanks.
I was literally going to put her at number 3, but I replaced her with Anima in the last second because I feel Anima is very underrated and many people don't know about her.
@@KazzaGamesTVI'm kind of glad you ended up making that change. Since she's probably the most obvious. And I've been seeing people in the comments saying they totally forgot about TEW bosses.
@@KazzaGamesTVIt was nice to see Anima on the list because thanks to her, the whole experience in the Evil Within 2 was more terrifying, and I really enjoyed every time she appeared. But I think Lisa Trevor from Resident Evil is too iconic to be ignored. I really hope you could put her on the list number 2. Also Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club is a good suggestion!
@Danza.Estelar Definitely going to talk about her in Part 2. Her spot is already reserved. I would also love to add some enigmatic ones that many people might have forgotten.
You can play most scary games without fear n pressure if you just play it without sound, sounDs make us fear and who knows they may added subliminal voices
7:00 Actually that's incorrect. Laura is actually the sister of the madman who is the final boss in Evil Within. She isn't mutated but this is a distorted version of her because she is a manifestation by the bitter memories of her brother. All of this takes place inside the mind of a psycho. What happened to her and her brother was that bitter farmers burned the barn they were playing in because they hated their father who is was a rich dude. She died but he didn't.
I wish p.t wasnt cancelled :( I love that demo, even though is super short i loved everything about it, Lisa is really a nightmare type of character, she really gives me chills 😂 top tier horror character. I loved this video so much!
F.E.A.R. 'S Alma and Evil Within 's Laura and Anima were my most scariest memorable moments that I had. And mention special to PT 's Lisa. That game should get a revival honestly.
"When it comes to horror entertainment, the female antagonist can actually be the most effective in many cases for so many reasons that we can't explain easily." Sounds like the story of a married man.
Totally. I recently saw an updated list of the best horror games of all time and Fatal Frame wasn't there. It breaks my heart that one of the greatest experiences in survival horror is slowly being forgotten 😢 Someone needs to remake those games.
@@luzmairaleiva4472 'm always iffy about whether or not remaking any of the FF games would be a good idea. Because it might not be as scary as they originally are if everything is significantly cleaned up. The graphics play a lot into the horror. Like the last FF game wasn't very good, or scary and I think it was a little too clean. Still played through it though.
@@KazzaGamesTVpersonally I think both Sae and Reika deserve a spot on the list. Sae is extremely iconic, but Reika also has a killer design and you start out the game being cursed by her and she follows the male protagonist Kei around and insta kill him in his segments.
Agreed. Also, a female protagonist is ideal for horror movies. I mean, if you have a strong and handsome male---he is going to kick ass. Can you picture Jason Stratham in a ghost movie?
That first one scared the shit outa me. I did not expect it to move that fast to the screen. Similar to that Movie MaMa when she was in the living room.
There is a lot of walking sims on this list... really recent ones too.. And repeats.. There's Daniella from Haunting Ground, Sae Kurosawa from Fatal Frame 2 or Reika from 3, Lisa from RE1- there is a lot of ground to cover. Daniella from haunting ground not being on here feels a bit disappointing lol
@@KazzaGamesTV I never said I wasn’t familiar with the franchise dickhead, I just thought it was kind of funny that I’m considered “older” now since that game only came out in the mid 2000’s l, but plenty of time has transpired since then and it just made me think. Shit son, your a presumptuous little prick ain’t you?
Fatal frame series fit the bill. The Coma games should be on the list. Yomawari: Lost in the Dark has a female doll chasing you. The game Viviette has a crazy girl chasing you and killing you. Haunting Ground is another one.
For me, the 10th spot is very important because it's the best way to start the list with a big choice. So I intentionally put Alma at number 10 because I felt that it was a strong start that made the rest of the list more interesting.
What you said about Laura isn't correct actually. She was never a patient there. Ruben/Ruvik lost his sister, Laura, in a barn fire, after she sacrificed herself to save him in their childhoods. The fire was caused by angry villagers who believed her to be a witch. This is why in Beacon, in Rubens mind, she can't handle fire and why fire is a weapon against her. You kinda find that out by collecting everything in the game and sometimes see flashbacks of it in between scenes. Nvm, you had me in the first half, ngl.
So she admitted by herself to filming me on that day and from then on, having s**ual fantasies about me / us for over two years before finally talking to me. Now it’s about what she did after filming me, for the whole two years she had been „watching“ or „observing“ me ;
she would start writing down when / where I‘d get off / on the bus and sometimes run or wait for an earlier / later bus to see me as often as possible, (which means she‘d sometimes wait for half an hour up to an hour because the bus line only drives this frequent, just to eventually see me), she was able to describe my friends well enough for me to know exactly who she saw me with, she would frequent spots or places in the city more often when / if she saw me there, especially multiple times, like in the library, lastly she would mirror me, if I was waiting for the train on one side of the tracks, she would basically stand face to face to me, vis-a-vis and when I would walk she’d do the same on the opposite side
all of the above for two years from the first day she had seen me on said bus, until talking to me at all
And again that’s just what she admitted by herself. Also she kept admitting to say one detail of the above, then check for my reaction, even being amused at my surprise etc, then reveal something new, so I found out about all details in the period of 1-2 weeks of her telling me bit by bit
She told me she was looking for a serious long-term, loving relationship as well, just as I was, told me she loved me more than anything or anyone every day and that she was sure about wanting the relationship, then broke up with me when her mother passed away, from one day to the other, confirming what I should have known before already but was too blind to see: „Sorry, I just can’t Imagine us spending time together without having s**“ „Idk why but I just lost my feelings for you and even if I knew why and we had a solution for the problem, I would still not want to continue because I just don’t feel like it anymore“ „Most of the relationship was good, at least I’m not afraid of s** anymore“ and lastly „Just look at our relationship as if it was an expired phone contract“
She wanted to spend almost all the time we spent together in private in bed, yk „exercising“ not just chilling, apart from family gatherings, going shopping & eating maybe once (to be fair it was covid time when we started dating but still) before, then going back home and immediately engage in bed sports again.

@@JSpeedy306 he also said the wrong story of the box cutter girl from sweethome

I think this game would've been a banger if the characters had more personality, I mean they have little to no personality, I mean I like Sebastian but I wish he was more than just a macho detective, the characters needed to be flushed out more.
The thing about Anima is her voice is very melodious but at the same time she is also extremely dangerous. This makes her really terrifying.
get a grip of ur self honestly
First time i saw her and she said Sebastian it literally sent shivers down my spine
I was gonna mention her. All Fatal Frame antagonists to be honest. Reika is also a fantastic creepy antagonist. And Daniela from Haunting Ground too.
i'd also like to add someone from Fatal Frame The Blinded Woman from Fatal Frame 1 you have to fight her 7 times and because she's blind she can hear you really well so you have to start every fight with her at an advantage because if you lose that advantage even for a moment you might be dead.
The tattoo maiden and maiden of black water too
@@karencorey290 The blinded women scared the CRAP out of me when I was a kid. The idea she was blinded by a ritual mask that had two spikes through the eyes, and she's in misery, wandering in darkness, JFC. Fatal Frame never gets the credit it's due. It was a terrifying franchise.
The broken woman ghost that drops on you from the ceiling in the stairwell over and over gave me nightmares lol.
Thanks for giving some backstories for each character. I played Lucy's chapter three times, and this is literally the first time I discovered her story. I'm not good at concentrating on stories in psychological horror games because I'm busy surviving. 🤣
Glad I could help. I love giving context.
So true, when playing horror games I'm too focused on saving my asses and pay no attention to the storyline 😭🤣
I began my journey on the Evil Within platinum trophy recently. Laura was one of the most difficult challenges I’ve ever had to overcome in a game 💀

The intros in this channel never fail to get me into the mood. Such a gem channel for horror fans.
Yeah Marta was really scary
@@tinafischer8259 oh yes very scary all I wanted to do in that game was to run away from her as far as possible!!!
A lot of her encounters are optional ones - she has her own radio signal to make it easier to find her
It's very underrated, even though it has an enigmatic appearance and backstory. Developers should have definitely focused on her more.
Yeah, finding her was never an issue. She only shows in a few places. I was hoping for more of a randomly wondering type of enemy.
@@wes5619 Yeah, that makes sense. I wish she got more screen time than she did with more puzzle areas for Sebastian
I just knew Lisa would be number 1
laura is a super strengthened version of sadako, who has two more arms and is with a bigger size. oh, you forgot that dead/ghost wife of the protagonist of the superb taiwanese horror vidgame, DEVOTION
Sae Kurosawa in Fatal Frame 2! Her laugh still creeps me out 😵
This is exactly what I need to watch before going to sleep ❤
Laura actually has no blade. Those are claws. She has four clawed hands and two shoed feet. She is the reimagined sister of Ruben. She died in a fire saving Ruben, giving her both her screams and her weakness to fire.
One you might've wanted to add, maybe as an honourable mention, is Danielle from Haunting Ground. She's considered one of the most disturbing characters in horror gaming and for good reason - she practually stole the show in Haunting Ground.
Lisa isn’t just the scariest female monster in video games: it’s the scariest monster in general.(at least for me.)
same!
These were definitely creepy. Another scary female antagonist was Sae from Fatal Frame 2. Her laugh and aggressiveness sent chills up my spine. Thanks for sharing this vid.
You missed Sae from Fatal Frame 2 imo she is more iconic than multiple entries in this list.
She will definitely be included in Part 2.
Laura and Anima take first spots for me, they're so similar yet different. Love their design.
Your analysis is very precise, and it explains a lot. Ruvin's connection with his sister Laura explains a lot of the story.
ANIMA IS SUPER UNDERRATED! THANKS FOR INCLUDING HER!
ppl were sleeping on her because most of her interactions are only optional path.
The F.E.A.R. Games should be remade so I can play them again with some updated controls and graphics.
Agree. I *really* want F.E.A.R. remasters.
I don't know why they abandoned such a powerful franchise. This generation of gaming really needs games like that.
The first F.E.A.R was sooo good. And the multiplayer was like nothing else at the time

Anima is one of my favorites. And the fact nothing can damage her just makes her much more scarier
I like how Evil Within talks about discreet by crouching while kicking doors each time to open them.
You're very welcome. Great analysis by the way.
The maid you mention from Haunting Ground is Daniella.
She's beautiful, but deadly.
No love for the Maiden of Black Water or any of the other Fatal Frame female antagonists. 😭😭😭
Yup, I though one of those would be on the list.
Hopefully in Part 2.
I've played the original trilogy but not the 3DS game, Lunar Mask, or Maiden of Black Water. But (correct me if I'm wrong) aren't all the main antagonists women?
Anima always scares the hell out of me. The way she sings is so creepy and you're always on edge because she can show up at any point.
Marta from Outlast 2
Mother Gooseberry from Outlast Trials
This is something i sort of realized. Women can be a lot scarier than men in horror genre like games and movies for some reaosn.
Yes, you should make a video about the male ones. I'm curious about a list of them because I feel like I don't remember the big ones, especially in indie games.
Noted!
The one type of intimidation women are vastly better at than men for me is this kind of intimidation though. The horrific kind. The incomprehensible kind. I don't think the male antagonists will hold up. But we'll see.
The evil within kind of gives me the chills entire game the fact that some spirit not only attacks you but put puts you in some kind of nightmare, world and then you have to escape only to realize you’re in both the dream world and in the real world scares the shit out of me all the time
Great video! Thanks for keeping the spoilers to a minimum!
I appreciate how the explanation for a lot of my favorite female antagonists can boil down to extreme feminine rage
great video, very interesting, thank you) for me the scariest female antagonist is Daniella from Haunting Ground
I was like if Lisa isn’t number one on this list I’m suing. That game was so goddamn scary but she really made it more scary.
Would the Witch in Left 4 Dead be considered an antagonist? She was scary as hell too
I believe she would be.
Glad you appreciate how scary Granny is. People who don't know her tend not to realize that.
What do you mean Laura's origins aren't explicitly revealed in the game?????? There is an entire cut scene showing her backstory and how she died burned in a barn after saving her brother (the main villain of the game). Not to mention the many notes mentioning her... Have you played the game?
Watch the video please and listen to what I said.
Great collection. I'll need it in an upcoming video.
@@KazzaGamesTV 👍
I didn't intend to watch this at all but I did... I said I'd just take a peak cuz I'm not really a fan of horror. But curiosity and all that. So many diff. characters and I shat my pants each time. Thanks.
My Ex is the most chilling female antagonist in my game of life
Seeing Alma as kid terrified me.
Alma and Laura will forever haunt me the most.
It was a great list.
But I think you guys missed the legendary Lisa Trevor from Resident Evil.
Not being able to hear the monster coming is even scarier
bro how tf you gonna mention alma wade and show only fear 3 sightings??
Gonna Watch This With Some Dinner 😎👍🏾❤❤
7:00 Actually that's incorrect. Laura is actually the sister of the madman who is the final boss in Evil Within. She isn't mutated but this is a distorted version of her because she is a manifestation by the bitter memories of her brother. All of this takes place inside the mind of a psycho. What happened to her and her brother was that bitter farmers burned the barn they were playing in because they hated their father who is was a rich dude. She died but he didn't.
On console, Anima's singing comes from the speakers in the controller. It's terrifying when it happens for the first time.
you forgot to mention my wife, she is also a female horror antaognist irl.
Aww i was hoping for Lady Dimitrescu 😏
I wish p.t wasnt cancelled :(
I love that demo, even though is super short i loved everything about it, Lisa is really a nightmare type of character, she really gives me chills 😂 top tier horror character. I loved this video so much!
Okay I don't know why but playing horror games are much scarier than watching horror movies😅
F.E.A.R. 'S Alma and Evil Within 's Laura and Anima were my most scariest memorable moments that I had. And mention special to PT 's Lisa. That game should get a revival honestly.
"When it comes to horror entertainment, the female antagonist can actually be the most effective in many cases for so many reasons that we can't explain easily."
Sounds like the story of a married man.
that little glimpse of her eyes gave me the chills at the13:03 mark
I would have put Sai (Fatal Frame 2) on this list for sure.
I agree. The Fatal Frame franchise has a lot of big antagonists that could make their own list. I'm definitely going to mention them in Part 2.
@@KazzaGamesTV Yay! So happy to hear it 😁 Fatal Frame doesn't get anywhere near the representation I feel is deserved. RE and SH get it all, lol.
Very good list but where is the broken neck female ghost from fatal frame 1?, still get nightmares from that 1.
0:17 who is the grudge walking one that then appears by door but it then closes
I really like the video thx a lot!!
24:43 that scared me how the camera was and she was just right there looking. Lol
I used to think my mother was a horror character on her own if I didn't do the dishes back then, because chores. 😂
SWEET HECK! I shouldn't have watched this right before I went to bed.
You know there's always the one person that thinks: "She's hot" and proceeds to look up [REDACTED] about them.
Agreed. Also, a female protagonist is ideal for horror movies. I mean, if you have a strong and handsome male---he is going to kick ass. Can you picture Jason Stratham in a ghost movie?
That first one scared the shit outa me. I did not expect it to move that fast to the screen. Similar to that Movie MaMa when she was in the living room.
jokes on you
I'm into them
None of these insane female horror game antoginists could give me chills more than my gf. 😅
I love the video man keep the great content!!!
Thanks! More to come.
Check the video after this one. It contains more.
Bruh why are females so much scarier in Horrror games than males
This fool said “older gamers” will remember FEAR 😂. (I was born in 1990)
Well, are you sure you're a gamer if you were born in 1990 and are not familiar with the FEAR franchise? What were you doing at 15 years old?
@@KazzaGamesTV I never said I wasn’t familiar with the franchise dickhead, I just thought it was kind of funny that I’m considered “older” now since that game only came out in the mid 2000’s l, but plenty of time has transpired since then and it just made me think. Shit son, your a presumptuous little prick ain’t you?
You're a 33 year old man talking like a 5 year old angry kid. No wonder you feel so young.
Fatal frame series fit the bill. The Coma games should be on the list. Yomawari: Lost in the Dark has a female doll chasing you. The game Viviette has a crazy girl chasing you and killing you. Haunting Ground is another one.
Alma deserves a lot higher of a spot. 😞
For me, the 10th spot is very important because it's the best way to start the list with a big choice. So I intentionally put Alma at number 10 because I felt that it was a strong start that made the rest of the list more interesting.
I haven't watched the video yet but if I don't see Alma I'm going to cause problems.
Hi, what is the movie in the clip in the intro? Thanks:)
Have you listened to the part where I said "Well I actually made that up". I even explained their story thoroughly in the video after this one.
@@KazzaGamesTV tbf, you didn't mention all of it. But like i said afterwards: "nvm, you had me in the first half, ngl"
Great list! I would also suggest 'Broken Neck' woman from Fatal Frame 1 & 2.
I'm still in the beginning of the video but I'm hopping the Granny is here.
The original granny model is way scarier than the remade one
Change my mind
I Like this guy he actually responds to comments
Great video although Madison Hale should’ve probably been somewhere in the list
