One of the things I love about horror is the diversity. Every country has its own dark fairy tales, myths, religious influences and urban legends. You can either get a fascinating glimpse into another culture or find a game that hits a bit too close to home.

What I love most about these games is the sharing of local folklores. As a SE Asian, our folklores can vary from country to country, but often share similar characteristics as well so it's always cool to see that on screen.

Honestly since the Inception of games like Fatal Frame I have been honestly obsessed with more of different horror games from different countries especially from different countries in Asia just because I love to see different cultures perspectives on what is considered scary to them. It's really interesting to just see how there are some common tropes among certain cultures when it comes to horror and the Paranormal and then there's things that are vastly different from Western to Eastern cultures. And even then there's so much richness and difference and both Western and Eastern cultures that it's really fascinating to explore. I don't remember the Game's name but there was a game out there that explored the horror of Scandinavian mythology or like the Bramble King that recently came out. It's just really fascinating to see different cultures perspectives on horror I guess is what my point is

Great list, especially the asian horror games with the integration of local folklore.
I recommend checking out a game called "Mundaun", it makes use of pencil-drawn graphics, that add to the eeriness to the creatures taken from swiss alpine folklore and using the fourth lesser known official swiss language for spoken dialogue, of course it has subtitles. It also has puzzle-solving elements and follows a story about the main protagonists grandfather and the actions he took in the past.

Oh man I finally subscribed 😂, I don’t play horror games myself, I watch gameplays because I just can’t move and I’m not sure my heart could take it 😅.
The thing I love about horror games it is the capacity of the developers to make something that feels artistic in a scary way, they create so many stimulus catering for specific feelings (like the tingling in the back of the neck) and then they are capable of mixing them with a story that can be a literary masterpiece. Sometimes I feel like horror games ruined horror literature for me, cuz I don’t get the sensation of kicking my own feet anymore.
I’ll be searching for gameplays of this games!!

Wow. I'm suprised to see my comment in your video.
Great vid! Wanted to try that Brazilian game, but the installer didn't work.
Btw, will you continue making reviews about games from different countries? If you do, I suspect you'll mention Cry of Fear from Sweden firsthand. Chernobylite from Poland (however, I';m not so sure that it is entirely about horror games, though horror vibes are really there, especially when that Black Stalker appears and you're not ready to fight against him or low ammo).
Also, what about horror games with Indian folklore/mythology themes? Seems to be an interesting idea to explore.

I am such a horror fan like I love horror movies and games not only that I played loads of horror games growing up and yet for me it’s very hard to get scared or even get chills but the fact that we have different countries making games based around horror is genuinely amazing. As I said I don’t get scared easily but I noticed when I played games such as Home Sweet Home and even Iblis it gave me such a dread well Iblis definitely did I was soo scared and paranoid to even go around the corner and in Iblis what made it more scary was the silence I mean you will hear a random eee sound at random times but other than it’s not like most horror games that build up music as you go around the corner… that’s what game makers should do when they form horror games let the environment speak for itself because when you add music and than add more tension to it as you go around the corner you know a jump scare is to be expected but with Iblis it really didn’t do that

    • @KazzaGamesTV
      @KazzaGamesTV  Год назад

Your taste in horror is pretty much like mine. I also love it when the source of horror is the environment and the atmosphere instead of visible monsters or creatures. That's why indie horror games got popular, they focused more on playing with the player's mind than making him fight the enemy directly. Personally, I feel that 'Iblis' and 'From the Darkness' succeeded in that concept, they're both scary even without anything showing up.

Shame that Hong Kong (where my origin is from) actually had alot of horror tales and genre, especially in the 1980's media. Usually if the story is set in 19th century (Republican era before WW1), there is the Jumping Vampire "Jiangshi" genre with a Taoist exorcist Priest fighting against all kind of ghost and demons. Made famous in movies like Mr Vampire.
In modern setting, like 1980's usually it set in "curse" type of horror where sceptical city folks pretend that there is no ghost or haunted apartment complex, although usually these 1980 setting, there will be an obligatory Taoist Exorcist trying to convince the modern city folk that ghost exist.

Mundaun is a very interesting horror game centered around a certain part of the Alps where people speak almost alien language to us and neighboring countries alike.
Clive Barker's Undying, on the other hand, is heavily inspired by Irish Celtic culture.
Both games are also related to occultism and religious imagery presented in scary way.

Hi, as a great fan of your channel, I'd like to inform and ask you to fix the timestamps.
The youtube chapter feature only works if you put in 00:00. So something like
    00:00 Start/Beginning/Intro
    02:14 Game 10
00:00 is like an indicator to let the system know that you will be / would like to use the youtube chapter feature, so unless you put it in your timestamp the other timestamps are practically useless in terms of youtube chapter feature since they will not be reflected.

A phone game that uses your data to mess with you doesn't sound like that big of a deal considering PC games pulled the trick of searching your computer for photos to throw into the game just to freak you out like back in the 90s lots of games try to be meta and mess with you by reaching beyond the bounds of what you think the game should be able to do it's what they're doing with that data outside of the game that's the issue what if the game is just a ploy to get information from you it's used for scamming
