Thats awesome to see. I’m a plumber, my old man was a plumber so I always used pvc to make everything since I was a kid including shin pads for soccer. I would slice larger pipes put them in the oven so they were flat and a little soft then mould them. You can use bigger pipes to mock up seat humps and all sorts . PVC is very forgiving and cheap to play around with. 👍
Hey Dan, I've used the pvp pipe also its great. In Sweden we use an spring that's the same diameter as the pipe inside when we bend it. In that way you don't need the sand. Just a tip, keep up the good work love your channel 👍🏼
One of your best vids. All your vids are good but what I am getting at is, having seen a heap of custom fab bike and car vids I've never seen a vid run ideas like this. Kudos dude!
WOW!!! I came here cause you left a link on a comment at the CB750 time lapse vídeo. That vid was amazing. So is this one, of course. I am starting to fabricate my own parts now. What a great idea!!! So many possibilities!!! Thank you very much for sharing. You've got some serious skills. Its a pleasure to watch someone like you working. I just subscribed to your channel. Already a fan!!! Thanks again. Stay Cool!!!!
Highly recommend AGAINST a blow torch. Burning PVC can release some nasty fumes. I think In the absence of a heat gun you may be able to get by pouring boiling water over a small area when you can’t use the oven.
Hi Dan thanks for the awesome idea about using PVC pipe. I learnt the hard way, had my fab guy (who's a really good guy) do a sub frame for my bike but I didn't look right, in the end we cut it all out and made some subtle changes and what a difference. Using PVC could of saved us some time, effort and $$$. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely brilliant Dan been chewing over how I'm going to do the rear on mine to match what got cut off as it was sooooo bad ..did think using copper pipe but that's expensive didn't think on PVC and the methods you show are simplistic .cheers
Gary Yorke this is definitely perfect for what you are doing mate. I’m glad it will go to good use on your build. Send me a snap shot once you get there :)
Thanks Dan will send off a piccy of the plastic and hopefully the finished tubing as soon as I get there with both .I'll send then to your messenger link thanks Gary
I’m desperate to see how your buddy’s BMW project is coming on. 😱 I can just imagine my wife having something to say if I used the oven to heat up plastic pipe. Hang on !!!! I do all the cooking 🤣
@@CafeRacerGarage I don't have any ideas for that yet. But when I get to that bridge...I'll hit u up. While on the topic, your thoughts on electronics tray under the seat? Ill search ur vids meanwhile. Thx!!!!
Hay dan quick questions about the modification you have made. What is the process you go though for getting your bikes engineered? Im starting a 1983 kawasaki gt550 build and would like to change the subframe and front forks simultaneously to you but I dont want any engineering surprises when i finnished.
hey just wondering do u need a engineers certificate to register the bikes you modify or does it past roadworthy without a engineers certificate cheers keep up the good work
Hi Dan, I am new to mechanical world, I need to create a complete frame template which is very similar to Harley Davidson Live Wire for my EV Moto cycle. Can you help or suggest the techniques on this. Thank in advance
For the kink at 6.03 ,you could always use the wife's hairdryer......maybe it would work . I'm not an engineer but who knows it may work 😓. Peace out ✌

Great video! This is exactly what I needed to get started designing the rear end. Thanks man!
You are a fricken genius man! Nice thinking!
Excellent vid, Dan! Terrific idea on how to present your plan to the fabricator... 🏍👍🏍

PVC works good for exhaust fabrication as well. Bikes and cars.
steven livingston definitely 👍😊
That's very informative, maybe I can use PVC to mock up my exhaust when it comes to it.
Thank you mate, yes you sure could do that if you wanted to :)
Thats such a great idea. Lets you play around with different designs before cutting any metal too. Im defo going to try this for my next build.
BB's Customs that’s so cool that you got something from this one. I love knowing my videos are going to good use
really want to see this finished!!
Definitely going to use this technique 😊
Hope you like it! Its a fast and easy way to play around with the look you want
awesome...been struggling with how to do this...love your work dude.
Bravo !!! From Paris, thank’ s
Very good info!
Great video.
Is pvc malleable when you add really hot sand inside? Just in case you don't have access to an oven.
What a brilliant idea! I'll definitely be using that. Thanks, keep up the awsome videos 😁
Great idea! I'm working on the same bike as this one.
I thought about this the other day. Cool to see a vid on it
David Jewell hope it’s helps

I have 1978 Honda XL 125 with no exhaust they are obsolete trying to make my first exhaust ever
Bro!!!! OMG that was awesome!!! What about the cowel? Any ideas.for that?!
What kind of cowel are you trying to design?

Cheers mate! helluva great idea.

Which vehicle did you use the gas tank for? Only their own?
Me encantan tus creaciones felicidades

It’s best to check the rules and regulations in your state
good idea sir. Cheers

Never knew you could heat and bend PVC
