You're, like, the first person I have ever seen on youtube using "its" and "it's" correctly. Kudos. Oh and I agree, I am madly in love with the soundtrack
The only thing that beats Persona 5 is Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. You beat to beat up the Jokesy Blokesy. In actuality I think P5 is tied in first with Doom, Breath of the Wild, GTA 5, The Last Of Us, and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
This wasn't a fucking game for me. It was an experience. This was such a foreign thing to me, as well. I remember texting a fellow fan, saying I felt LUCKY to beat a game like this one.
If you like Persona 5, you should check out the parent series, Shin Megami Tensei. I recommend SMT III: Nocturne personally, although if you don't have a PC able to run it, a PS3, or a PS2, I recommend trying out SMT IV for the 3DS. SMT IV is a standalone game, much like Persona, you need not to play the other games to have fun with it. I don't recommend trying out SMT IV Apocalypse first though, as that is techincally a non-canon (okay it's a multiverse but really it's not canon) continuation of the original story. It has better gameplay, but the story was really bunked up in that one. If you can't get into either of those, try the Digital Devil Saga series. It's more Persona, with actual team members, but keeps the traditional Press Turn combat system while adding the Mantra system. It'll get you more comfortable with the intricacies of the series before you move onto Nocturne.
SPOILER.... like seriously, don't read it if you haven't finished the Story! Well, it was a game after all. I don't mean that as an insult to your statement, I totally agree with you. This game has impacted me like no other game or any other work of Art, be it games, books, paintings, movies or whatever there is, has ever done. But I love the option to tell Sae "it was a game" at the end, because in the end, it was a set up game from Yaldabaoth all along, he even calls it a game. Because that what it was to him: a game, and you as the trickster were playing sort of a rigged gambling game. Of course I know what you mean by your statement, and like I said, I totally agree with you. Just could not hold myself back to point out the irony of a game being so more much than "a game" and impacting my way of thinking so hard, while beeing (speeking in-game terminology and how my joker answered Sae) "a game" all along :D
@@ValatY Great spoiler warning, Some people are idiots and type it flat out no warning. Yah the game took me 135 hours to beat and I didn't even max out all confidants it kinda left me feeling a bit cheated. Great game but it dragged on towards the end in my opinion.
@@MelissaMeantIt i played nocturne on ps2 when i was a kid. it was too hard for me back then but i'd like to try it again now that i'm older and like more challenging games.
Persona 5 helped me go through a difficult time. It was my life basically for a year. I never gave JRPGs a chance because I was intimidated by them. But this looked so stylish that I could not resist the urge. I took a risk and it paid off big time!! Now Persona is something that I cherish as much as Zelda or Smash Bros. God tier level music I cannot stop listening! Take your time everyone.
It's funny how you mentioned how good Sojiro's voice is. Jamieson Price is one of my favorite voice actors in games/anime that i'm surprised he hasn't been noticed in bigger projects yet. Troy Baker,Laura Bailey and Yuri Lowenthal all had a hand in making the Persona dubs so insanely good and look where they are now. Hope Jamieson Price gets the same treatment!
Jamieson Price has a very silly voice, but sometimes his presentation feels really off and forced. Still love him in appleseed, ghost in the shell, etc. tho
You've convinced me to play Persona 5.... again! I've been trying to get my friends and girlfriend into Persona 5 (and the series in general) *forever* but I always do a mediocre job of explaining WHY it's most-likely going to be one of the top-10 best games they've ever played (most likely top-3/5). I will begin sharing your videos with them to appropriately do the job because you've seriously knocked it out the park. Thank you! Liked and subbed. When I received my "Take Your Heart" copy in the mail April 2017 legit no one in my circle (or outer-circle, even) understood why I was so hyped for the game. I really hope to change that by the time Persona 6 rolls around (if there is a Persona 6). Either way, thanks again and looking forward to being a subscriber! and YES, MAKOTO BEST GIRL.
Try hard mode if you did not. Its really fun imo. The first palace can even be crushing for some but i like how the mechanics matter more, gotta use everything at your disposal to proceed.
On your second run everything carries over which is AMAZING. I ended up maxing the Doctor’s level and got those precious SP accessories, do a palace’s end in one day then just chill with the crew for almost a month! I can’t wait for the Royal Edition!
Birdman yes! I’m playing it now. Currently in Shido’s palace. I have to say, I’m enjoying Royal more than the vanilla version. All of the new additions to Technically weaknesses, confidants, abilities and overall refinement keeps me engaged with the game even though I’ve played the story about 3 times now. I just love the characters. Looking forward to the new semester too!
@@MattCMusicPage nice, how long you play it so far? also the new semester is really worth it, i haven't played it but only watch the walkthrough here in yt lol
Birdman I’ll let you know about the new semester but I’m super partial to this game in general so everything that I’ve played before on the vanilla version now IS the same but they’ve added a few things to flesh out the story with the pain plot and confidants. I’m a fan
@@mydoodles8204 haru? her voice though. i suffered through it the first playthrough but in following playthroughs that's pretty much the only dialogue i speed through to avoid hearing her nails on a chalkboard voice.
Finally my favorite video game is getting a video on this channel, I've been in love with Persona 5 for a long time! The anime wasn't shit like people predicted and watching it reminded me "Hoi shithead i have Persona 5, let's play it!" and I simply loved replaying it! Right now I'm 15 years old, people keep telling me to live life at maximum, and Persona 5 is like... 99% of my life taking it away from me would make me sad! Persona 5 is beautiful and the best in the series! (I played all Persona games in case someone says bullshit or something similar) And i recommend YOU to play it too!
@@tomasalves4676 of course I played the full game. That's why the anime is so shit. The animation is bad most of the time the fights are a cluttered mess and the all out attacks just looked awful. I played the game when it came out it's great but the anime is shit.
I wasn't necessarily into JRPGs at all until a friend of mine finally convinced me to get Persona 5. Once you get several hours into the game, it's damn near impossible to put down. The story is quite literally the best I've ever played in any game, the characters are incredibly written, the palaces are so creative and each one is different, the soundtrack is unforgettable, and the presence of psychology is interesting. Ever since finishing it, I've regarded it as the best game I've ever played. Can't recommend it enough.
Your the kind of person I really like Alax. Even if you dislike something, you don’t straight up go “this is objectively bad.” You say that you want to understand it, and give it a fair trial. Happy to know you like one of my favourite games of all time, Alax. Keep it up.
First you start to like Persona, then next thing you know, you're being beaten by a spooky matador and asking for more. Welcome aboard the megaten madness!
I still find it confusing why there’s such a hate circle for jrpgs. So many people call them awful and unfun, and I’m just confused since I have so much fun. I think menu based combat is incredibly satisfying, like in octopath when you solve each battle and can do it flawlessly. It feels amazing. I respect you disliking them though, they’re certainly not for everyone, but I do find it confusing that so many people (not you in particular) present these opinions as objective fact. I love jrpgs. They bring me so much joy, the joy of having so much to do, so much to think about and having stat ups and other numbers stored in my brain. I’m beginning to be unsure if I’d even like persona, since so many jrpg haters love it.
I wouldn't worry about liking persona cuz haters like it. What it all comes down to is that extra pressure placed on players by the time limit and the fact that normal battles aren't just you hitting "attack" in the menu for every encounter. I mean, sure, you could use a monster's weakness in a Final Fantasy game, but it's not like it matters a lot in most JRPGs. Know what I mean? Persona games still have all that stat stuff and you can do crazy stuff with it if you become a master and love the grind. And hey, Persona and Persona 2 (both of them) are more like traditional JRPGs in terms of how they play from what I've heard, so you might like those. Not to mention Shin Megami Tense games in the main series too, which play like Pokemon if you could control 4 pokemon at once in battle.
psychologyman interesting! The time limit is a huge turn-off, I like being able to do things at my own pace. I get that it encourages you to play optimally, but for me personally I love making an effort to be underleveled to get that same effect, or playing the game on hardmode. I’ll look into shin megami tensi like you said. I’m playing dragon quest xi right now, and in hardmode that game ends up in a great sweet-spot for difficulty.
That's cool. It's worth noting that time does not pass while you're in a dungeon. Whether you spend 7 hours grinding it out or 30 minutes getting some treasure you missed, it'll always be evening when you come out of the dungeon. No kidding, the loading screen literally says "Take your time". Haha! This isn't like in ummmm, The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask or in FF13 Lightning Returns (I struggled to remember those two examples). It's more about planning your decisions wisely rather than running on the clock. I'd offer you a specific recommendation on Shin Megami Tensei games, but I've really only played like 2 of them cuz they don't get made often and aren't always easy to get ahold of. I can tell you everyone loves SMT Nocturne for the PS2 though. I enjoyed SMT4 for what it was. Sorry, that's all I got for personal experience. Okay, your turn. Tell me about Dragon Quest. Have you been with that series for a long time? A friend of mine streamed Dragon Quest XI last night and it looked super fun. Been thinking about getting into that series, but not sure where to jump in. I don't wanna jump into the Final Fantasy 2 of the series if ya know what I mean. My friend recommended I try Dragon Quest 6 or 9.
psychologyman thank you for your personal experiences with smt! I’m glad to hear there’s no time limit in dungeons. So my journey with dragon quest actually started when I was 8 years old. I saved up money for several weeks and bought a copy of dragon quest monsters joker 2 for 5 pounds for my dsi. I remember that especially because I don’t understand why it was there. A classic jrpg sitting among a bunch of shovelware at a supermarket? Wtf (hell’s kitchen for the ds was there when I first went there in 2006, and was still there when they closed the games section in 2014 lmao) So the game is essentially monster capture. You catch, fuse and train a team of monsters. But what set it apart in my opinion was it’s world. Before this the only games i’d played at all were flash games. This game blew me away with it’s setpieces, incredibly intimidating giant monsters and amazing graphics (for the ds at least) For your first, it depends what you want to get out of it. Want the most classic dragon quest experience there is? Play 4. You get 8 different distinctive characters and a load of choice for an nes game. Want my personal favourite? Play v. The story, gameplay and world blend together to create something truly special. The game did monster capture way back in 1995, and did it well. It’s also the only snes game I’ve cried about. Play the ds remake though, it fixes my gripes with the game. V’s main selling point is that you explore this world as a child, teenager and as an adult, first with your father, then with your wife, and finally with your children. All with your stalwart monster companions guiding you the whole way through. Want the most modern jrpg dq has to offer, with heaps of modern convenience? Play dq11. Also imho this game is the best one to jump in from. It has everything that dq has in such amazing ways. It very nearly beat v for me, that’s how good it it is. It’s the sort of game you get lost in. You have so many choices for what you do that it’s absurd. I rarely ever levelgrind. Instead, while exploring the world and collecting crafting materials, I end up fighting monsters and every single time I step into the game it feels like an adventure. Want to hate yourself and for everything that is good and right and dragon quest to die in a massive garbage fire? Play 6. Jeez that game sucks. Overall it’s your choice. Sorry I went on a bit. Dragon quest is my favourite series of all time. It just nails everything and keeps itself to those high standards without fail. I just barely ever get a chance to talk about dq and I had a grin on my face throughout writing this 😁
Heh, glad my question brought such a big smile to your face. I do really appreciate the long comment btw. Told me everything I needed to know and then some. I'm a bit of a cheapskate, so I'll probably go for iv or v. From what I've seen, I'm sure I'd love xi, but I'm a bit low on cash ever since I bought a new PC. Hey, I'm just a random guy on the internet, but I have a big love for many video games and you seem to love them too. Just gonna throw this out there, but I'm on Discord and wouldn't mind talking with you some more later on. Get to know ya. You know, friendly chit chat. If that's something that interests you, let me know and I'll PM you my Discord stuff (assuming you're on Discord).
Alax, you NEED to play Persona 3 and 4. The gameplay may not be as polished as 5, but they're still highly enjoyable games and I'm sure they'll steal your heart as well.
Years ago my friend recommended persona 5 to me since I love RPGs/JRPGs. I’ve played most of the Pokémon games and got tired with them, chrono trigger, a bit of earthbound, ect.I loved fighting all the time and leveling up but I can see why people don’t like it. Then, just a few days ago I bought it and oh fuck- I love it to all hell. The gameplay, the characters, the music, even the school stuff and after school time management, Japan/anime stuff and style. All of it, fantastic for me. And all I can think is “why the hell did I take so long to play this?” This game truly, easy joke here, stole my heart.
Really just for Kasumi and the added content, I’m not feeling certain characters who die in the original surviving on this one, unless it’s done right and actually enriches the plot.

Playing this game has revolutionized my life. I remember watching Joker get announced at the game awards back in 2018, I initially I was really annoyed because I though they wasted another slot on the roster with some dumb anime type of character. But then the more I researched into the background of Joker, it lead me to his video of him freaking out about it. I already had loved alax’s content, so I was of course willing to watch this. Some time later I asked for the game and eventually got it. However it ended up staying in my cabinet of games for a while. Then about 3 or 4 months later when I was just watching Alax’s videos, I stumbled upon this one. I figured I’d watch it because it seemed interesting, and because I still didn’t know much about the game. By the time I had finished watching, I was ready to start playing. And when I popped in that disk and started playing. My whole life changed, I had felt a feeling of high interest that I’ve never felt before, and after one night of playing I was already sold on this game. But as the story progressed. I fell in love with this game and it’s characters. I’ve loved everything about this game since I first played it in 2019, and I still do to this day. This game is, and possibly always will be my favorite video game of all time. I know this is a very long and possibly boring story, but I just felt the need to express my love for this game, because it’s just that good. Even if your not the biggest fan of RPG’s, Anime Esk Content, or Even Video Games At All. I highly recommend giving this game a chance because you will not regret it. To me this game is an absolute masterpiece, and always will be
Just finished my first play through and came back to this video that I watched when it came out years ago, thought "yeah, I'll play that game some day", and damn, this definitely hits different now that I've finished it. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Also Takemi best girl apparently
I did not know but i have known about the Persona series a lot. Also Alax has gotten a little bit of a Jontron feel with his Skits. Concidence or respect meh :(.
This whole situation you described is EXACTLY what happened to me... I thought there was nothing I hated more than turn-based JRPGs and now P5 is my favourite game of all time
Jesus Christ alax, this is the first game u convinced me to buy that I didn’t already have, and holy crap I can’t put it down. As of my purchase on Oct 2/2018 I’ve spent 20 hours til Oct 9/2018 and I’ve only beat Kamoshidas palace, and I’ve only just met Yusuke. Damn u alax(but it’s rlly good go play it.)
@@mariopokemon955 Bought it less than a week ago (as of Feb 16) because my friend kept recommending it after the Smash anouncement. Like 50 hrs + on Hard mode and just beat the 2nd Palace. I can't put this game down!
@@nitinanku Yeah, I probably should have mentioned the game was on discount ever since I bought it. For anyone who hasn't bought it, it should still be on discount. Also, Persona is hard to put it down. Remember to stay hydrated and take bathroom breaks if necessary.
Whenever someone compares Persona to Pokemon, I laugh a little, because Persona takes its demons and demon fusion system from Shin Megami Tensei, which was doing it well before Pokemon existed.
Also, Iwai wasn't wearing headphones, but ear protectors. They're a random-ass accessory in his case, but they're the kind of thing you'd use at a gun range to protect your ears while shooting. So it's a relevant accessory, since he sells model guns.
Now, pedantics out of the way: this was a fantastic video. And while I love me a good turn-based RPG, it is cool to see someone who's not so into them being able to get into them because of the way Persona handles it. They aren't quite as stylish or snappy, but maybe you ought to give Persona 3 and Persona 4 a chance someday, too. P5 is certainly more refined but both of those games did a lot of the same things. (Persona 5 was the only one of the three to incorporate Shin Megami Tensei's demon negotiation mechanics into the game, though; the much more archaic P1 and P2 both had them but not so for P3 or P4.)
Honestly I really love playing the Mario and Luigi RPG's because the battle system was really fun for me to learn when I first got it. Like Bowsers Inside Story was the first of the games I got and now I've beaten all the games now and I love every one of them, but it's true about the amount you have to fight enemies repeatedly over and over again. But recently I've been playing them again but adding a twist to make them a better experience such as skipping every enemy to have the lowest level by the end of the game, but the final boss was an hour and a half which most people would just give up.
At first I was put off by this video, but then! I thought a little outside the box and I realized that this video was made for a specific audience in mind! I'm an RPG dude. The rhythmic tune of a good turn based battle game is appealing to me! (Though yes, there are RPGs out there that are boring and tedious even among other tedious feeling RPGs! A scary thought to be sure) So when I realized this is a case study to promote P5 to those who aren't really into JRPGs like yourself, well I changed my tune right quick this video is great! From the gags to the analysis your hard work here shows. Good job on this!
I wouldnt say battles suck in rpgs, just depends on the person. I once spend hours straight grinding battles in Persona 4 just to level up a ton and get some more money, and I honestly didnt get bored. Its relaxing to do while you do other stuff like watch tv.
I have lost count how many times I have rewatched this video. I really love it and think that it is the BEST RelaxAlax video to me. I honestly cannot relate any more than I do. I LOVE PERSONA! All 6 of them are great in their own way, too.
Persona 5 and the Persona series itself is amazing (at least persona 3, 4 and 5) I personally urge all of you to check these games out because they are definitely worth AT LEAST one try. I found out about persona 5 5 months ago and I was amazed by how good the game actually is. I played and finished Persona 5, and after that, I decided to play Persona 4, which I first thought was a lot worse than P5 but in reallity, if you can accept the worse graphics, it's basically just as good. Then I watched the all of the persona 3 movies (4 in total) which are AMAZING and now, I'm going to try to beat Persona3FES. If you Have never played thease games before, I urge you to do so. Trust me ;)
Hey Selena, what is your opinion on P3MC's death? Do you think that Elisabeth will find a way to free Makoto? I personally think that that will probably happen because: 1. I think that it's quite sad that Makoto gets such a bad ending compared to P4MC's ending or P5MC's ending (he basically cheats death) 2. Because of the fact that Atlus revealed that Elisabeth is actively trying to revive P3MC and keeps reminding the player even in canon games like P4 3. Atlus would probably not let this plot thread dangling and eventually will do something about it and by that I mean make a game or spinoff or comic or movie or anything about Elizabeth's quest to free Makoto.
Detective Fat Weedington To be honest, Minato's "death" is very fitting for the game that he came from. Persona 3 was a more serious toned game with consequences. Shinji, Junpei, Chidorita, and Minato all died and it left impacts on the player. Shinji and Junpei got Shot.... like... the F... Alongside the characters evolving persona's through plot related means and having to deal with the fact that they need to live normal lives after this... it leaves the player feeling satisfied by how much they went through. Persona 4 has a good plot, but not as good as how p3 handled it. It was more of a mystery and a oblivious fear than straight up terror and dread like p3. P4 is great, don't get me wrong. Amazing characters and really fun to play. P5 took way too much from p4 which made it feel even more dry. Nothing original. The palaces were basically the midnight channel all over again. Stealing their heart is similar to making them realize themselves. The difference is between normal people about to be murdered and bad people/villians. Not to mention that persona 5 had bad characters. Ryuji is very flat and boring. His only quirk is that he gets mad. Ann is just the typical girl... nothing exciting. Morgana just complains all the time. Makoto is decent.... enough that she is dumbed down Mitsuru. Haru is cute and not unlikable. A bit simple but I think she is one of the well written characters. I see her as more simple than bland. Yusuke is one of the amazingly written characters. An artist in a drought. His dry humor and semi awkwardness is hilarious. He is also realistic. Futaba is good and quite funny as well. She is written very well. The main character is written more poorly than persona 4's main character. P4 has the best main character. Minato is mostly an empty slate and it fits p3... but Yu is just really good. Joker is not bad but not as good as Yu. They tried to make his whole character into someone that is innocent but seen as guilty. I like that, but they didn't make him as good as Yu. Persona 3 is best for its story, persona 4 is best for its gameplay, persona 5 Is best for..... fusion search and weapon fusing... yea.... I can't even say velvet room is better entirely Because they removed tri fusion. Fusing 3 personas... without a recipe. The previous games had both tri fusion and fusion recipe. The boss fights and fights in general were amazing in p4. The thing that p4 sucked at were it's palaces. I actually like how p3 handled their boss rooms. 1 night and a boss at the end. Most people hate tartarus, but I liked it much more than p4 and p5 palaces. Mementos was basically an even worse tartarus. In conclusion... each game has something that is good. (P5 being ... worse than both.) P3 and p4 are amazing. I just prefer p3 slightly more than p4.
Niers ost is better than P5s and thats why it won Best ost of 2017. Dont get me wrong P5s ost is amazing but Niers entire OST fits the game perfectly and enhances whats happening in the story, most of the tracks has 4 versions that changes with gameplay . P5 has some of these but most of em are just great songs/music
I really loved Octopath but to be honest Octopath has its own problems so it wouldn't be sincere to call it GOTY. Octopath's successor can be GOTY if they work on Octopath cons.
The editing for this video was amazing. It felt so meticulously detailed, yet still super fluid. It feels like pure eye-candy watching your videos. Keep it up Alax!
Here after Joker in Smash reveal!!!! All these points also apply to 3 and 4 as well (and their variant versions), so if you liked Persona 5, you should checked them out as well. Yeah their graphics are a little dated, but the aesthetics, style, music, and story make them soo amazing.
@The Chef Boo (Andrew) The PSP version is a literal visual novel with some combat changes taken from Persona 4. If you really want to experience 3 as it should, play the FES version (PS2) which includes a little epilogue campaign (30 to 40 hours long) that no other version has.
YOUR VIDEO JUST MADE ME BUY THIS GAME........ Although I've already bought it and spent more than 50 hours in it and I barely make any progress...BUT I LOVE IT AND I CAN'T STOP.
@@donmcron3334 Of course! Some might even argue that SMT V has the potential to be BETTER than P5 (I wouldn't personally, but the SMT series are top-quality titles in terms of production). We'll have to wait and see, but it's good to know that Atlus still pays attention to the core franchise (despite what SMT diehards are convinced of).
Hey Alax, as a long time fan I think you did really good with this video, not just for the topic but mainly for the presentation and how you and the people who helped you made it fit together really nicely. Have you ever thought about trying Persona 3 or 4? I would recommend giving them a shot considering you really liked Persona 5. The good thing about 3 and 4 is it still has the calendar system and the characters and story are refreshingly different from game to game. The bad things about the game that you may not like are twofold. First, while the dungeons are a lot shorter than P5, they are all randomly generated, and I think you might get bored of them. The second thing is you may find it difficult getting your hands on the games. The best way to play P3 is by picking up Persona 3 FES on the PS2 or PS3 Network, which isn't that bad. But for P4 the best way to play it is on Persona 4 Golden, which is only on a PlayStation Vita or a PSTV. If you happen to own that hardware or are just really invested in Persona, I would recommend picking it up! Keep up the good work!
This video kept appearing in my recommended feed, and I've been itching to watch it again, but I kept myself from doing so just in case there were any spoilers in the video, and if there were any, I (thankfully) don't remember any of them. But I finally beat Persona 5 just a few minutes ago, and it was an absolute joy to play beginning to end and is without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time. Now, after appearing in my feed for ages, I can finally watch it without having to worry.
3:23 I feel like it isn't that bad in Xenoblade because: 1) Most battles are optional. You can just run away if an enemy engages with you. 2) Doing quests and exploring also makes you level up. So story progression isn't always hindered by battling enemies. 3) It isn't nearly as monotones as turn-based games, and there's more of an incentive to strategically position yourself right, to score those critical hits, and finish the fights faster. But that's really just my take on it. If you don't enjoy it, then there's nothing I can really do about that. Just wanted to defend a game I love.
In my opinion there's only three times grinding is 'necessary' in an (J)RPG. 1) The game is actually poorly balanced, but this is way less common than people think. 2) Completionists who want to unlock everything, which is fine because that's an optional challenge to people who like the games enough to do it. 3) Players who don't understand core systems or have a poor grasp on basic strategy, and would rather use brawn (raw power from grinding levels/items) than brains (strategy) to overcome an obstacle. Even the most simple game like Pokemon can provide good examples of that last one. A lot of people grind to reduce the mental burden of strategy, when the problem can instead be solved through creative use of items or moves that increase/reduce stats or apply status effects.
So I was told to watch this after your recent video, I mean I was already happy we're getting crossovers from unknown games when Joker was announced (mainly cause he looks badass) and now im even happier

This wasn't a fucking game for me. It was an experience. This was such a foreign thing to me, as well. I remember texting a fellow fan, saying I felt LUCKY to beat a game like this one.
Its a game

I respect your opinion man but the anime is just so lackluster compared to the video game in most aspects
Keep it up.

Wtf (hell’s kitchen for the ds was there when I first went there in 2006, and was still there when they closed the games section in 2014 lmao)
So the game is essentially monster capture. You catch, fuse and train a team of monsters. But what set it apart in my opinion was it’s world. Before this the only games i’d played at all were flash games. This game blew me away with it’s setpieces, incredibly intimidating giant monsters and amazing graphics (for the ds at least)
For your first, it depends what you want to get out of it.

Then, just a few days ago I bought it and oh fuck- I love it to all hell. The gameplay, the characters, the music, even the school stuff and after school time management, Japan/anime stuff and style. They stole it long ago, my friend. Long ago...

My reaction when this video was uploaded: *FOR REAL!?*

18:40 those are earmuffs, you would know that if you were a real gun enthusiast and stopped playing with models!
A scary thought to be sure)

Underrated as hell
When you watch this after playing through the game
I wouldnt say battles suck in rpgs, just depends on the person. I once spend hours straight grinding battles in Persona 4 just to level up a ton and get some more money, and I honestly didnt get bored. Its relaxing to do while you do other stuff like watch tv.
This was honestly my GOTY of 2017.

In this video I think Alax confuses RPGs with JRPGs
I have lost count how many times I have rewatched this video. I really love it and think that it is the BEST RelaxAlax video to me. I honestly cannot relate any more than I do. I LOVE PERSONA! All 6 of them are great in their own way, too.
Persona 5 and the Persona series itself is amazing (at least persona 3, 4 and 5)
I personally urge all of you to check these games out because they are definitely worth AT LEAST one try.
Trust me ;)

3fes is amazing. Too bad you were spoiled by the movies.

Hey Selena, what is your opinion on P3MC's death?
Do you think that Elisabeth will find a way to free Makoto?
I personally think that that will probably happen because:
1. I think that it's quite sad that Makoto gets such a bad ending compared to P4MC's ending or P5MC's ending (he basically cheats death)
2. Because of the fact that Atlus revealed that Elisabeth is actively trying to revive P3MC and keeps reminding the player even in canon games like P4
3. Atlus would probably not let this plot thread dangling and eventually will do something about it and by that I mean make a game or spinoff or comic or movie or anything about Elizabeth's quest to free Makoto.
Detective Fat Weedington
To be honest, Minato's "death" is very fitting for the game that he came from.
Persona 3 is best for its story, persona 4 is best for its gameplay, persona 5 Is best for..... fusion search and weapon fusing... yea.... I can't even say velvet room is better entirely
Because they removed tri fusion.
(P5 being ... worse than both.)
P3 and p4 are amazing. I just prefer p3 slightly more than p4.
P5 should have won GOTY of 2017
It was the best rpg of of that year and had the best music.
Heres Hope to Octopath Traveler
Tempest i wished P5 won it, but at least Nier should have been nominated, instead they nominated that trash PUBG
Divinity was a much better RPG, but persona 5 was great too.
I believe P5 did win Best RPG though so I’ll take that.

All these points also apply to 3 and 4 as well (and their variant versions), so if you liked Persona 5, you should checked them out as well. Yeah their graphics are a little dated, but the aesthetics, style, music, and story make them soo amazing.
Is the PSP version of Persona 3 good?
@@TheChefBoo Necropost, but yeah. It's the best version of Persona 3.
@The Chef Boo (Andrew) The PSP version is a literal visual novel with some combat changes taken from Persona 4. If you really want to experience 3 as it should, play the FES version (PS2) which includes a little epilogue campaign (30 to 40 hours long) that no other version has.

I don’t think that Fire Emblem follows the standard RPG formula. Definitely not like the others you listed.
Yeah fire emblem is completely different to the rest of them
it's more like a "tactical RPG" than a standard RPG (so yeah, like a board game as the other guy mentioned)
I mean I like RPGs anyway, but I'm going to play this game. I'm getting a PS4 this Christmas, so I'm set.

@KnightHart Exactly, SMT snobs are the worst. Glad I'm not part of that fandom, lol. It's the "no fun allowed" club.
SMT elitist snobs I’m super excited to try my first one when the fifth one comes out. Is there any chance I’ll like it as much as P5?
3:23 I feel like it isn't that bad in Xenoblade because:
1) Most battles are optional.
In Xenoblade it's optional but almost necessary. I can't tell you how many times I had to grind just to beat the next boss.

And Yet he never seen it coming. . . . . . .I'll show myself the door
Thank you to introducing me to this game. Truly one of my favorites.
How you feel about RPG games, is exactly how I feel about real time strategy games
