Wow, you left for the same reasons I am trying to leave. I am getting my ducks in a row, saving every penny, no debt, driving a raggedy car with no monthly payment. I need about another 2 years and I am outa the US for good. Love your honesty and the fact you are brave enough to make this video. You will get alot of hate for this video, but don't let it make you doubt yourself, you are entitled to your opinions. Life is short, live it your way. Thanks for the content.

Honestly Ben, whatever you mentioned its happening in the east slowly, because the west cultures do affect the east cultures in so many ways. Kids these days are getting woke and these cancel cultures are affecting people's lifestyle too mainly because of social media. One thing for sure, as a non-Muslim to be born and raised here, I'm glad Malaysia is a Muslim country and not too radical when it comes to religious practices since we are quite diverse here. I know you are trying to escape the matrix, just don't be afraid to be yourself.

I left California after my Father passed away last year. I have no close family left anymore. He was really the only reason that I stayed. I sold my house, car and most of my belongings. Gave away the rest of it. Only have a tiny storage unit near LAX with some valuables and sentimental things that I couldn't part with at this time. I just travel as a perpetual tourist never staying anywhere for too long.
I have a lot of family in NYC but I have no interest in living there or anywhere in America. I was in South America first. Then I was in EU. But I came back to Asia where I prefer to be. I will be 43 in May. I am semi retired at this point. My Father wanted me to go travel more and live in other countries so that is what I am doing. Good Luck on your journey. It will be a trip to say the least.

@@benfishermin sure, Malaysia is quite liberal. You can be anything you want but sexually you can't flaunt yourself in obscenities in public as what you like may not be in accordance with other members of the public. Even heterosexual, they are not allowed to parade in obscene manner in public. People just won't want their childrens mind get f*ck*d up. Whatever you do, do it within your own walls. There's practically no incidents of bashing over here and everyone almost live comfortably. Those found problems here are mostly trying to make unacceptable statements in public. It's a diverse community and some general rule accepted by all should be adhered. Total individualistic freedom is simply not possible in public... only in your own home. It's a necessity to keep community in harmony. Pride parade like Folsom CA is strictly a no in almost all Asian countries. Once it is allowed, people understand more avenues for such disturbing scenes would rise into demand. Bad for the younger generations.

If you been here you realize this...America spans 8 timezones and is bigger than you think. So dont use the issues that happen here to paint the whole country as a war zone everywhere --It NOT. Now most visited ASEAN country, sebab it works in Malaysia favour, very cheap for tourists to travel to, hotels, foods very cheap, pulak because of Islamic values and conservativeness, openly sex trades and doing sexual stuffs publicly is against the law, so Malaysia perfect country for family vacations and for people to bring their kids to travel, over time it works in Malaysia favour. Lagi pon westerners ni ramai tak suka Asians berkulit gelap, mereka rasa kita ni bodoh compared Cina, Koreans dan Japanese yang mereka suka dan agungkan, pulak kita majoriti Muslims, lagi mereka tak suka sebabnya mereka Islamophobic, sebab tu dulu mereka tak pandang pon kita. A NYU club asked me to give a talk about how I got into the art industry, as part of my introduction, I was supposed to state my pronouns. I realized this is a group of people who are going to be offended by everything. If they tape what I say and I say something that offends them, they’ll try to cancel me, and in the end I decided it wasn’t worth it for me to talk to these people.

It's a Borneo state in East Malaysia, and the natives there have had centuries old tradition of body tattoos. They had a wry smile when the craze for body tattoo in the West became mainstream some decades ago as you would meet many Sarawakian natives who have body tattoos for many years for cultural, religious and social reasons. Some of the tattoos are incredibly intricate, detailed and quite different. And each local native tribes will have their own distinctive style of tattoos.

You have a point saying the USA is more polarized/ “tribal”. In the “olden days” ( before internet) we Americans basically received the same news which was more “ middle of the road” without a slant. Editorials would offer one’s opinion. Now days with cable TV, RUclips, TikTok and other social media viewers can suffer from “tunnel vision” only watching a news channel that agrees with their view or receiving false “news” full of conspiracy theories.
I am now retired in Thailand because I want to be in a more welcoming, passive environment and avoid USA politics.
