Helps when you spend 30 billion a year on defence , that buys a lot of gear.
youd think it would but it doesnt, cos we always buy the most expensive stuff. And stuff like our armoured units, ships, subs, aircraft all have to be really versatile, reliable and high endurance and range cos of how inhospitable the vast majority of the territory is and how fucking huge it is (only a tiny bit less than the continental USA, like take out California and i think its basically the same)
I wouldnt say we always buy the most expensive stuff or even close to it. What makes an Australian soldier stand out from the rest is their ability to operate at a core level without using technology. This comes from our high level of training that includes alot of cross over skill sets that larger armies dont have the funding or admin to do.

Most active frontline army personnel in the ADF have served multiple combat tours of Afghanistan, iraq, or otherwise.
