Since I keep getting the same questions, the below points should provide some answers. 1. Cost - I spent around $2,500 on the blind. It will be different for everyone depending on where you live. Also, the wood prices have gone up since I bought all my materials in January. Another benefit I had was I already had a lot of the materials and I had some buddies give me materials as well. 2. Roof Pitch - The roof drops 2 inches from front to back. 3. Power - I plan on using a solar panel now and will probably do it next year. 4. Stairs - I am aware of the stairs being unstable. I added supports under each step. Also, if you can’t tell in the video there is a railing. 5. Improvements - Since completing the blind I have added shelves and curtains. 6. Reasoning - I built the blind for 2 reasons. One, to enjoy hunting with my young son in a blind that was comfortable and spacious. My father (my sons’ grandfather) can even fit in there with us. Hunting should be a shared experience. Two, my buddies and I enjoy grabbing a case of beer and drinking in the blind to let loose. We don’t even care about shooting anything sometimes. This blind makes this even more fun to do. I will probably do most of my serious hunting with my bow out of my tree stands. Blind = leisure hunting Tree Stand = serious hunting 7. TV - I put a tv in the blind for two reasons. One, to watch college football during the evening hunts. The tv does have what’s called a volume button. I can turn it down so the deer won’t hear it. Two, I can connect the camera attachment on my spotting scope to the tv so I can really get a good visual on the deer.
Hunting with your family means quality time. This is an awesome build with solid reasons. You have my respect. You’ll be safe if the deer able to shoot back too, looks like an armored car on stilts.
That is completely awesome work that is going to last about 200 years , I’m a full time cabinet maker and I have made couple of blinds for my self , yours is amazing especially cause you have your old man helping the entire time congratulations, Hi from Houston Tx happy hunting!!!!
I think you wanted to build a blind but ended up with a club house.. great vid.. might i suggest adding a kegerator and a bouncer at the back door in case someone get out of line.
Wow built to last for sure, man cave, unwind space, father child bonding zone, can't go wrong there man. Did a great job, something your son will never forget. Great build. Thanks for sharing it.
your right, i had a dog who kept pulling up the heavy duty dog chain anchors that screwed into the ground so I dug a hole n cement a bag in the bottom put the anchor in the wet cement n the clay back on top he never broke loose again, id use cement on me to be rock solid safe we have very high winds im on a hill, but it don't need it, but after seeing a barn blow over last year, yes i want to go that extra mile lol
Great build. Personally, the last thing I would want in a blind is a TV. Not because of the volume but it would hold my attention when I should be looking out of the windows. To each their own.
Great job on this build, looks like your dad helped out a bit, what a great way to build memories with him and your son. Hats of to you brother on this awesome blind build.
Dude. Please put a center runner in your stairs!! I know a guy who went out to set up his blind. Went up, took some pics, got two steps down and the third pulled out of the screws. Broke thru 4 more on the way down. 6 wks in the hospital and will never be 100% again. His stairs were exactly like yours.
A lot of folks are bashing this build. If the man wants the most comfortable deer blind you can imagine, why not? He has the means and the ability so I applaud him. There is not a hunter out there that hasn't thought about something like this at some point when they were freezing cold and bored in the stand.
I am a contractor, electrician, and much much more and all I wanted to say was this project is awesome good job buddy! One thing I would recommend specially due to the acoustics and insulating as much as you did is add a sound deadening either to the floor sides or ceiling of your choosing that way just makes every shot A little more pleasant LOL but you did a great job. Other than adding the sound deadening as a sidenote may be a solar panel and back up battery so that way you don’t have to haul stuff back-and-forth but then you never have to leave! Interesting blind build for sure, I only have 2 main concerns with it. I am a carpenter and have been for 15 years and a flat roof with metal will usually end up leaking especially if you live in a rainy climate in my experience in the state of Maine. And the second is that you built it so air tight with insulation and sealant the wood and especially the roof will be unable to breath and in time will most likely mold and or rot out, especially with a propane heater as the put excessive amounts of moisture into the air. I like the build overall though, and love the door and windows you used. And the overall finish look was very cool. Looks like it will be plenty comfortable
Excellent attention to detail and some craftsmanship. If that was your father, looks like you got to spend some quality time together with the project. I put deerview windows in my blind too! Best of luck hunting!
For solar, best to avoid the 18V panels. Get a basic ~320W panel for ~$125 and a charge controller that can handle voltage and amps. Use a 100 Ah marine battery. Consider water proof charge controller and pure sine wave inverter. There are some great inexpensive 500 - 600W options.
I don't know about everyone else , but it's definitely the nicest build I ever seen ,Bar none ,most home aren't made that good thank you P/s I ad to come watch it one more time lol .
I’ve been designing and building a 7x7 octagon blind since January of this year. Lumber got so high, I stopped and waited until last week to finish up. I’m in it with 2x4 studs, 2x6 studs, 3/4” plywood, 1/2” plywood, elevator brackets, screws (I over-use screws but this thing sure as hell ain’t squeaking), and a few door components. I had planned on adding a 100 gal propane tank, mr buddy heater, carpet, plexiglass/acrylic windows, urinal tubing, etc but cost was way to high thanks to Covid prices on lumber. I had planned a full residential stair system for my elderly dad, but he’s gonna have to settle for a single slope 47* stair with 8” rise. Lol. I dubbed mine “moose mansion” ( I live in middle of lower 48 hunting whitetail and turkeys) because I also planned to have European mounts of deer I’ve killed or seen and found dead mounted to the wall in the blind with a Replica 60” Bull Moose Euro hanging from the frame outside. The guys I hunt with thought that would be a extravagant blind, I really want to show them this blind. Lol. I don’t think they’d ever go home, they’d get reported missing
This goes beyond hunting I mean yes I carry a portable battery pack to charge my phone and radio but a tv that isn't hunting that's wasting time in the woods to keep from being at home listening to the wife complain
@@Scorpion-cy1il the only thing a tv screen may be of use is for an older person to hook to the camera to zoom and see the deer better if hunting for management bucks
I just learned something VERY important and VERY useful right off the start I’ve built so many things and nothing is more frustrating than not being able to hold up 1 side of something and connect another pc Those wood clamps on the ground…holding up the wall….wow I’m an idiot and why have I never thought of that….
I want to build something like this someday. I don't like waking up in the morning, so I'd sleep in there and wake up at daybreak and see what's out there without spooking anything. Lol. But you are missing a beverage fridge and a urinal.. I'd put a funnel through the wall with a hose going to the ground.
Suggestion: 1. WeBoost 3/4g antenna mounted by the front door going up about 10 feet..from the roof to the tree top to recieve signals. with wire connecting to the Tv and to an internal 3/4g modem. 2. 5 ip camera's mounted on all sides..and one at the bottom or onto a tree looking at the Blind (IP camera's good for wireless and for nightvision) so you can watch the feed from home or your mobile they are also IPS 66 waterproof..and you can use the tv to see the input if youre in the blind for a night hunt. 3. 2 300w Monocrystaline solar panels mounted on the roof..with 2 solar pwr batteries..placed in a box with a lock under the blind..so its out of the way. 4. Tool box mounted under the blind. 5. 1 door going to the roof with a retractable ladder. 6. Add blinds to the windows.. you any and all light is not visible from the outside.
Boy, you guys did a wonderful job, start to finish. Sure wish I had some property in the woods so that I could buy your plan and start building. Really fantastic bl;ind….
I never deer hunted, just waterfowl, coyotes, hogs, my whole life. I gotta say, that is some luxury hunting right there. Might as well get you an LTE modem and get internet there so you can game it up on the xbox or ps5 and heat up some hot pockets. lol. just busting balls. In all seriousness, good build and hope it serves you well.

@@Scorpion-cy1il the only thing a tv screen may be of use is for an older person to hook to the camera to zoom and see the deer better if hunting for management bucks
I just learned something VERY important and VERY useful right off the start
I’ve built so many things and nothing is more frustrating than not being able to hold up 1 side of something and connect another pc
Those wood clamps on the ground…holding up the wall….wow I’m an idiot and why have I never thought of that….
Great build! Nice work
Nice. How about solar and a Jackery for power. You can charge and home and when you get there plug in the solar and 110 and hours of fun.
Post vids hunting in it for sure! Show the heater in action especially!!! Sweet build
A hunters paradise! Nice job! To have the blind and the land, you are blessed!
One of the Coolest blinds I have ever seen ! Uncle Tater Approved lol !
Awesome build ! Make all day sits during the rut a breeze :)
I want to build something like this someday. I don't like waking up in the morning, so I'd sleep in there and wake up at daybreak and see what's out there without spooking anything. Lol. But you are missing a beverage fridge and a urinal.. I'd put a funnel through the wall with a hose going to the ground.
Some height adjustable swivel type rifle rests mounted in the windows would be a nice addition.
Take it to the nxt level & add a solar panel on roof 🤷🏿♂️
true. and add an auto clay slinger under the blind for some trap if the hunt is a bust.
Suggestion:
It's too fancy, when the buck finally will come, what you will tell him wait 15 minutes until the game will over! lol
All in all great blind
Outstanding job guys where's my wheelchair ramp
If your gonna have a TV in a deer blind you may as well put up cameras so you can watch all corners of the blind. Heat ain't a bad
Nice blind lot of thought went into this!! About how much would a guy have into something like this to build himself?
$75,000 easily
Nice. Kingwood, TX here.
Awesome I need one Like that are three will be Fine.
Boy, you guys did a wonderful job, start to finish. Sure wish I had some property in the woods so that I could buy your plan and start building. Really fantastic bl;ind….
I like the fact that this guy works with his paps
Stove and fridge go in next week. Looks like the recliner is already there.
shout out to Conroe...I like it!
Love it. Great blind. Gave me lots of ideas. Its a mini mancave.
You built an elevated cabin
I never deer hunted, just waterfowl, coyotes, hogs, my whole life. I gotta say, that is some luxury hunting right there. Might as well get you an LTE modem and get internet there so you can game it up on the xbox or ps5 and heat up some hot pockets. lol. just busting balls. In all seriousness, good build and hope it serves you well.
"Antenna to get basic cable." lol! Sorry, just sounds funny. That is one awesome build and set up you have! Great job!
Just purchased your plans, thank you. Might add small wood stove instead of propane heat.
Thank you for your business!
