Now, instead of focusing on book sales, my book is going to be my business card, my coffee meeting, and my sales team. I love the idea of giving the book away, and the Scorecard idea alone is worth millions.
Daniel you’re such a wizard! The book that changed my life was one I read (and it kick-started not only my career, but turned my life around and through me, the lives of others). I went on to write three books and they have served me extremely well. At what stage should someone write this book which they are giving away 1,000 copies per year? That’s about $30-50,000 per year. As you said Daniel, that’s only the cost of a coffee per book, but that’s $30-50,000 to lay out until seeing the ROI. At what stage is this applicable?
Writing a book is not a fast or cheap solution and we don't advise anyone do it until they're at 100K in revenue. Once you're at 100k, writing a book and giving it away goes down as a marketing expense. At around £5-£6 per book, it's not a lot of money when you consider what comes in on the back of it.
