Welcome back! in this video i will be using the DV1 clear gun to spray metallic paint. watch to the end so you don't miss any important information. #paint #dv1
Ive used iwata sata and devilbiss guns. To me ive always felt most comfortable spraying devilbiss guns, imo the most user friendly out of the "big 3". Nice video mario
I agree with that. I even switched to the expensive Walcom Genesi 360 light guns and an ego190 mimi HTE guns designed for less overspray for almost 2years and have found myself switching over to the 3 DV1 guns and an FLG primer gun. Cant beat the low working pressure of the DV1's and they get about 30% less overspray than the Walcom HTE guns. Also are easier to use and a pleasure to use
Fantastic finish from the DV1 Mario, just goes to show that you don't need to buy both DV1 guns to lay the base and clear as either one does a first class job👏🙏👍John UK
No I haven't but after seeing you use it I will have to give it a try, I have used the DV1 base gun for clear and while it was a bit slower it still did a great job👍
Seems DV1 did a good job , i have an Iwata ws400 series 2 pinifarina witch is a base gun but i also use it for clear and i can ensure you it does a great job on both of'em.
@@mariopaintclass6091even though this is a new spraygun would you buy this with both caps and nozzles over the prolite with te10 and te20 and all the nozzles? I know dv1 is more but which would you choose for everything?
Hey, may I ask why's that ? I will soon start production painting w/ mainly single stage and I am searching for the best all rounder for the shop and DV1 seems the best deal but I need to mimic the factory peel as well. Do you personally recommend it for such stuff ?
Here's the thing I've learned about painting and paint guns, you can use any gun for any stage of paint. You just need to adjust your methods to the gun. I'm sure some old heads will disagree with me, it's time for them to retire & move on.
Great video! I have this gun specifically for clear, but I don't have the other cap you're referring to. Where do I obtain this and can you please tell me why this cap is needed/recommended? Love your content brother.
Thanks man. You can find the cap on eBay or at summit racing.com. This cap was designed for better atomization. But to tell you the truth there’s not much difference from the C1 cap. I think when the gun came out people was still trying to figure out the gun and complained about the C1 cap.
@@arthurresendez I appreciate you man. I don’t have a designated sealer gun. I sometimes use my Tekna base gun, master pro 44 series, and the Vevor paint gun. All 1.3
@@mariopaintclass6091with the vevor gun. what settings do you use and distance. i’ve tried to spray with the vevor and always seem to get extreme sand piling and grittiness. using slow reducer
Hey Mario I have to ask if you have ever used the Ani Spray Guns??? The Ani F-160 on Spray guns direct is under $120 bucks and the Ani Black (skull edition) is only $454 bucks! If you want to see a spray guy with a HUGE Fan, PLEASE Try it out! They are Absolutely Amazing Spray Guns!!! I will gladly send you one of my Ani Black, Premier Spray Guns to use and see what you think. Just let me know man!
@Mario paint class Thanks for making this video, I'm wondering your thoughts on this gun vs 3M performance system? My original thought was to start with the 3M system because I love the easy clean up and ability to do most everything, and then get the DV1 for clear later on. This video makes me think I could grab the DV1 with the alternate cap and just use my cheap guns for primer? Also, what do you think about for sealer?
Brilliant video you answered a long time question between the 2 guns
Glad I could help 👍

Did you use the same aircap for both?

I don’t doubt it.
Thanks Mario !!
I bought this gun a month a go with the C1 and C2 air cap.
You’re welcome!

@@Erik7prc That’s tuff they are both great guns, I would choose the Tekna prolite
@@mariopaintclass6091 thanks bout to order up! Seem like most would choose the prolite over the dv1.....even though it's newer.
What does 18psi work out at without the digital guage? Cheers!
I bought two, as i paint a lot of single stage. Aside from nibs, flawless everytime. Harder (mentally) to build factory peel with'm.

😂 you’re not wrong at all.
But some guns do it better than others. And it depends on painter preference.
@@JimmyJiveJones true while all guns can do the job you will find that some are just easier to control and use.
Couldn't agree more. Im young and ive been told by people who have painted for 20 years its nothing to do with guns
@@drogba2k10 I'd also agree that some guns work better and are easier to use. You just have to learn what you have.
Great study ty
You’re welcome!
Tip size ?
Hey Mario, can you final sand with a 320 or 400 and not see sand scratches?
If you’re painting non metallic colors 400 grit will be fine. If you using 320 grit you would have to seal or prime before paint.
@@mariopaintclass6091 okay thank you

Hey man, the 3m paint gun is not a bad gun to start with. It’s definitely a starter gun. I use the sikkens sealer
