How was the rest of car … is it super flat maybe on last coat stand back a bit and let it out a little texture that way I’ve heard these guns my dead flat so is up to us to add just a bit of peel … looks amazing I just got 2 of these

My avg minimum car is 20k for paint..1.4 tip with c2 cap drops on concept 2021clear like glass.
All good info, As a hobbyist the both guns appear the same apart from body color same size tips too, Cant I buy just one to do both Base and Clear?
Yes you can buy one great guns thanks for watching
They are the same gun, they have been measured and the only difference is the color. You can interchange aircaps if you want more choices.
What was the air pressure on the dv1 clear coat gun

I got mine from the rep at the time mine is a older version then the ones I see online check with your paint rep or the auto paint store near you.
Thanks for replying but here in the uk it is difficult even talking to the 3m you get moved a round to different departments and get know where eg spoke to one person and you begin to get some where and then you pick up the phone they are advising you with negetive answers really hard so I struggle
Have you had the issue with the air control moving while you are spraying ?
In the beginning the fluid knob kept backing out .

Does the silver basecoat gun have the same texture finish as the the clear or is it more smooth?
Silver gun is the base coat gun .so hard to compare. Different products .but both are great
@@kandyman5315 I apologize, i didnt mean the finish the gun puts out, but the actual finish of the gun itself. I dislike the matte black texture on the dv1 clear as opposed to the slick black easy to clean finish from the prolite. I am hoping the basecoat gun is a slick finish sliver, like the sata 5000

Question for you, thinking about the dv1 basecoat for sealer and solid colors and the dv1 clear gun I'm thinking to use it just for single stage. Do you think it's worth or should i try another options?
I really like both but if your gonna spray sealer and single stage dv1 clear is what I would recommend

Hey what settings are you dialing for solvent on your dv1s I have a clear and a base gun I used the clear for high solids, with slow reducer and activator in FL inflatable booth with a 1.2 @20-23 psi I didn’t get very good results lots of dry areas orange peel, will switch to a 1.4 like you did and try again for high solid clear. I would appreciate any pointers and tips

So many options out there, im confused
I don't use iwata for base great gun for sealer or clear . I use devillbiss for base .
But you can use any gun once you get use to it you will get it dialed in but some are easier to use tekna base gun 1.3 is a great gun the blue one

So, I sold my dv1 clear gun a while ago, it was too slow with the c1 cap for me. I ordered the c2 aircap and wondering if it would work on the dv1 base gun to test out?

Yes you could use for clear and base I know it comes with two sizes sure about three I'll look tomorrow and get back to you 👍

In my opinion, sata 5000 and 5500 hvlp lay out sherwin ultra 9k better than the DV1 base
Don't put house paint in that poor spray gun
G’day mate my question for you is how much of a difference is the 1.3 tip to the 1.4 tip in the DV1 clear as I have a DV1 C2 1.3 with a 1.4 tip coming how much of a difference it is as does it still give the fine atomisation?
1.4 is great for thinner clears

G’day mate which air cap do you like for your DV1 clear the C1 or C2 or which one would you use more on a day to day basis?
At the moment I'm using c2 with 1.2 works great with my clear.

How come you want bigger droplets? Wouldn't smaller droplets lay down flatter, flow better?
Depends on the clear medium solids bigger droplet works better. High solids smaller droplet work better
@kandyman5315 ok. Just got some dv1's base and clear. And also a iwata series 2 clear gun. Gunna try thrse out. But just seemed to me the smaller droplets would spray smoother, flow smoother
The thinner clears dry fast and don't flow as well so with the bigger droplet it has more flow before it starts to set up

Weird, the s15 are wanting to not thread very easy, they get stuck about 2 turns in. Are new threads tight? These are new guns
