You should be using a rubber spatula for mixing and getting rid of the aluminum stir sticks for stirring the BASE, I just retired last Nov, after being a PPG Certified Refinish Technician for 46 years, and I sprayed Aquabase for about 15 years. I mixed all the color in the PPS cups using the rubber spatula . just a FYI 👍
What I love about your videos is that you are so REAL compared to other guys on RUclips. I’m about to change shops too and I hope the guys are decent and down to earth like you. I mean you can be a know it all but you Don’t need to treat ppl like one. 👍

I have been short baking the candy clear and nibing the Axalta Cromax, Spies, Standox for the last five to six years. It works great.

Hey Gunny, hope you are keeping well mate it's great to see another RAW video from you. I thought a while back that you had changed shops again and I hope it works out well for you, as you say the reasons for the change aren't nothing to do with us but I think you said you would never go back to PPG but again if you are happy then that's all that matters👍

I love all your videos I like that cherry spray and PPG and Byram base water borne. I'll really be following you a lot more now and the DV one I'd like to purchase I got to say to 5500 the PPG rep was saying the I want to supernova is a better, is there a new supernova coming out from waterborne?
I don’t think he is watching your technic very closely. He goes back and forth where you have a steady fluid motion.

does the first coat dry with alot of metallic dust standing up sometimes? i spray it wet but when it happens i know the job is f**cked up any ideas on how to fix?

Hi gunnie, I am a bit confused. You said 12:38 the first coat need to be wetter. I am not challenging you. And some video I have watched, they mostly said first coat does not need to be too much. Just enough coverage. Or it applies to different scenarios?
That's just how I was spraying it back then. Since I've changed technique

A few reasons why it stays gummy
1-spraying it wet
2-not enough flash between coat
3-no blower blowing across parts to help dry
4-high humidity
5-not checking viscosity
6-not checking panel temp before basing and before clearing.
These are just of the few things I saw from watching this video. I know you love spraying stando, but enviro isn’t that and you can’t spray it like stando. It took me some time before I decided to take the time to learn how to optimize enviro, once I did, I was getting coverage in 2 coats plus a drop, & fully dry, meaning if I nibs it, it would powder up. I like watching your videos, but it’s getting to the point that your beating a dead horse expecting it to win a race. & the things I listed doesn’t really take much extra time, especially when you get it dialed in.
I have it dialed in, the results would indicate that, a big part of my issue is they don't exactly make it easy in fact they point you in the wrong direction with thinning ratios etc. Colours are shit too. I'm yet to see a painter who can paint Enviro as good as me
