I’m glad we got Future Gohan, the most badass one of them all. Yeah he wasn’t as strong as the main timeline counterpart but he went out like a man.
Dante Shit, considering that he had to basically train himself from a young age, Future Gohan was an absolute unit.

I think part of the reason future gohan even with over a decade of fighting never reached his real potential is because he had allready lost faith in his abilities, whenever he loses faith in himself he gets weaker like against cell at the end.
I think he had allready decided trunks would be the one that could fix the world because he didnt think he was strong enough.
Good lord I like that, what you just said! In my mind I always wanted to see Future Gohan going from place to place hunting down the Androids. Being alone, afraid, knowing he isn't and will never surpass the Androids in his time. Crying for his fallen friends and family, in the special it's never implied that FG goes to even visit his mother because he is on the Android mission. Which to me makes it very, very depressing. Yea there are definitely plot holes revolving around Future Goku's lack of helping his son in the Alternate Future, I've made a few music edits where Goku is an active ghost in the afterlife and tries to help Gohan in the future, granted I try to make it seem like even with Gohan's father there speaking to him, he still isn't enough. Now with Piccolo that's a whole other story oh boy...
Another thing we don’t know is when did gohan unlock ssj1 he seems like he has had for quiet some time cause he’s able to completely control when he transforms but if he only unlocked a couple of years before like let’s say 2-3 then I can understand why he was never able to beat the androids

Future Gohan is just one of those guys that I learned to have a deeper appreciation for as I got older, along with guys like Piccolo and Tien. Not many may realize or accept it, but present Gohan is currently at his best right now 💯💯
Current timeline Gohan is nowhere near at his strongest.
The mystic/ultimate form he has just eliminates the need of Super Saiyan transformations, eliminating the Stamina drain they bring.
Look at how strong he was against super Buu and how strong he got after training for a few days with Piccolo.
Gohan is also denying his Saiyan heritage at this point, as he stated he wanted to find a different path to power, different than Vegeta or Goku.
Kinda weird how he's denying his Saiyan heritage now since that's literally why he's so strong, Goku denied his Saiyan heritage and then accepted it, resulting in him becoming way stronger than ever before.

I love the fact that he isn’t relying on the SS transformations either. It separates him from everyone else. His Ultimate Form is one of the best forms in the series, and you explained it perfectly. As for that line...it’s such a badass line, but still so confusing..

In a roundabout way that stronger somebody ended up being himself
well, in the context of the future being saved, Gohan was 100% correct.
Because of his death, Trunks achieved Super Saiyan, fought the androids (barely survived) went back in time to save Goku, trained with Vegeta and became stronger, Gohan killed Cell, Trunks returns and single handedly kills both androids with no sweat.
sure, Future Gohans death made Present Gohan stronger aswell, but Future Gohan was speaking about his timeline, his world.
Would've been interesting if Gohan actually survived that android encounter (or it didn't happen) and Gohan went back in time to help Goku and train Gohan.

That’s shitty writing bro, Vegeta didn’t get more powerful when Cell killed Trunks. Goku didn’t unlock a new transformation when Zamasu and Black told him about chi chi and goten dying. Gohan got ,ore powerful because rage was the only way he could actually access his power until it was unlocked by gods. Rage is the trigger for Super issuance and two already. SS Rage is garbage writing and anyone who defends it is a fake apologist moron with shitty taste in writing.

The Future Goku not using king Kai telepathically communicating with Future Gohan is that this is really Trunks' story (it fits the whole apocalyptic theme and all). Plus this can also serve as a warning that anything can happen to Goku and the other Z-Fighters and the 'Z' era is where characters suffer violent deaths (this is arguably the worst case scenario).
Also Future Gohan didn't have the same resources as his father (King Kai, Hyperbolic Time Chamber, etc) and was limited as a result. In Xenoverse 2, Xeno Trunks wanted to avoid his mentors death so badly, but stopped when the Future Warrior #2 blocked his way. In the Unknown History Saga, Trunks went against Chronoa's wishes and saved Gohan at the cost of creating a new timeline.
Future Gohan's death served as a catalyst for Future Trunks to become SSJ (meaning that his death technically wasn't in vain). Heck Xenoverse 2 History of Trunks Saga served as a way of letting Future Gohan know that his final fate had a purpose and went to fight the Androids anyways.
It's been said Akira Toriyama wanted Gohan to be the main character with Goten & Trunks backing him up but the Japanese fans went crazy throwing tantrums over Kakarott even a few death threats involved so he caved & kept Kakarott as the lead character. Hopefully they do return Gohan to his rightful place along with giving Goten & Trunks their proper respect as fighters also!

Was thinking the exact same thing, Zamasu wouldn't have met Goku because the original timeline's actions would have then never required Trunks to go back causing that eventuality.
Actually now that I think about it, Trunks is a child during the Buu saga. He is a teenager when he goes back in time. So Babidi would have come sometime before Trunks went back in time right? So what happened there
@@dsimi415 I'm going to go out on a whim here. I feel that Babidi and his group may have sensed the activity and the energy levels on Earth during the Cell Games which may have attracted them to come sooner than later to revive Buu. Because if the Kais knew about it by the Buu saga then Babidi would have as well. In Trunks's timeline, there were barely any humans left or deities on Earth heading for self destruction in a way.
I liked that they talked about this in Xenoverse. Trunks tried to step in to stop future Gohan but Gohan knew it was going to happen and he would die so he left anyways.

he never looked older in DB either until the very end where randomly he was an adult.
Goku went from a kid to basically an adult in the span of 3 years (since Piccolo was 3 years when he fought Goku in the martial arts tournament)
Gohan is the only instance where we actually saw growth through the series.
we went from kid Gohan into Teen Gohan into Adult Gohan.

Stop making excuses. 1 Goku does look a bit taller after the 3 year time skip it’s just not significant because that was Toriyamas art style at the time he was still drawing Dr. Slump style and 2 you just admitted Gohan grew normally and Goten has a hell of a lot more in common with Gohan than he does Goku. Also, Trunks here is the same age as trunks in the fucking Goku Black arc, so there is zero reason for Trunks to look different here than he does in Z at the same age. Super is a shitty inconsistent series with shitty writing. They also turned future trunks’ hair blue while keeping kid trunks’ hair purple which also doesn’t make sense. It’s garbage.

The events of the Future Trunks Saga wouldn't have happened without Trunks going back in time as Black himself noted.
Well the whole Arc technically was weird anyway.. I forget if it was a different situation in the manga, as I'm more familiar with the anime, however Black had the idea of taking Gokus body *after* facing Goku so the Trunks this should have affected was main timeline not Trunks'.. it's sort of a weird continuity.

Jerky921 just mentioned the same thing. Goku was only able to talk to Gohan because he sacrificed himself against Cell. He was allowed to keep his body and be with King Kai, only for that reason.
I always assumed that HFIL/Other World only applied to warriors who die in battle with the result being them remaining in that current reality with their bodies. So this may explain why Goku was indeed around to help after the Cell Saga. But that being considered, Vegeta was killed in battle so couldn't he have helped from there, or the othe Z fighters for that matter in the Future Trunks timeline?
@@prashantmaharaj1084 Vegeta was still conflicted at that point, probably evil enough to go to Hell like he did when he sacrificed himself in Buu saga. Everybody else was way too weak. Also, no Dragon Balls to wish anyone back.
@@KaitouKaiju I was thinking about this, because it was a period where we couldn't really determine if Vegeta was still hot headed arrogant, or fighting selflessly. And there would have been no point for the Kais to get involved since it only meant the destruction of one planet and not the entire universe. I think also that Toriyama may have just deliberately neglected these possibilities to emphasize the shear hopelessness for that timeline
So if trunks never came to the past. What would’ve happen to mecha frieza? Would he have been killed by Goku or the androids?

The part where you briefly mentioned Goku Black appearing at some point.
Would he appear tho? Because I thought the whole point of him appearing is because Goku sparred with Zamasu, and seeing how powerful a mortal can be, that made him mad, and that made him switch bodies with Goku.
If future Gohan didn't die, Trunks would have no reason to go back in time to give Goku the Heart Virus, and Goku would die like he should, and everything would play out like it would have had Trunks not interferred.
I mean, I guess Zamasu could still exist, and I guess if he found Jiren or something, then that could drive him the same way. But I don't know

Trunks could of brought back everyone except for Goku before Goku Black arrived, and probably would of been able to stop him without the help of the past.
I say this, because I'm sure Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo at the very least were still training in otherworld.
Vegeta, and Gohan would probably have SSJ2 at the very least by time Goku Black arrived, which would mean that Black would have to face 3 SSJ2s.
Goku still would probably have unlocked SSJ3 so Gohan, or Vegeta could have learned it as well, and then passed it on to Trunks.
Goku learned of Fusion while he was dead in the new timeline, so I'm sure the original timeline Goku would learn it as well, which would allow 2 of the 3 Saiyans on Earth to fuse when fighting Black.
Piccolo could probably fuse with the other Saiyan if need be, or even Goku if he comes down for his 1 day on Earth to fight Black.
I'd imagine SSJ2 Gogeta, and SSJ2 Gohanks could probably handle Black(if not as SSJ2s then surely as SSJ3s).
They'd be fighting him as he arrives so he wouldn't have the Zenkai boost from fighting New Timeline Goku, or Rose.
I'm sure they could defeat Zamasu as well, because they could use the Mafuba to trap him like they planned to do in Super, but failed to do so for plot.
for real why didn't they use the dragon balls to cure goku of the heart virus??? why didn't fortune teller Baba foresee this and warn everyone???

Goku black wouldn’t have shown up, because he said himself , that one of the reasons why he took Goku’s body, is trunks went back into time to change history
Future Gohan cannot train properly as it will reveal his KI causing the androids to detect him.
Well goku did come up with the idea of mastered ssj which lead into ssj2 and gohan's development both mental and physical
Cause and Effect... You hit the cornerstone of my joy ey and it actually makes sense cause guys like Goku, Vegeta and Broly kinda reached their true potential straight of the bat, but Gogan's one had to take a few turns and that leads to the further emphasis of his true power that's yet to come. 🙏🔥

I dunno if I would consider it lazy story telling/writing to say that Future Gohan never became strong enough to beat the Androids even with years of training. We’ve seen in the Buu Saga and most recently in Super, that Gohan really doesn’t know how to progress on his own in terms of strength. He knows how to train but he doesn’t know how to train to push his limits, hence why he needed Piccolo in Super to help him regain his ultimate form and why he needed Goku in the time chamber(Once Goku started training seriously)
Even in the early Buu saga we see that when Gohan brings Goten along with him for training his method is pretty subpar and only suitable to help him get in shape a bit, but not get stronger. Goku & Piccolo are definitely people he needs to truly advance in power and with them both being dead in the future that just can’t happen as well as it should have. hey @Geekdom101 if gohan beat the androids, then there would NOT have been a goku black arc because rememeber the one zamasu from regular timeline had to go to future trunks time to start it and there would not have been an og timeline where he met goku.
one thing I think u may have over looked, is that if gohan had not died and trunks not gone back in time, there would have been no goku black, cuz goku would not have survived long enough to get strong enough to fight hit, but even if he did from the after life, odds are he wouldn't have even been noticed by beerus, thus not trained under him or whis, and thus not been a destroyers tournament or at least not on the team

P.S.: fortunately me and my girl were able to pay for our college education so we don't have to worry about it
the reason Why goku didn't talk to them could be because he died from a heart virus instead of actually doing something heroic thus not allowing him to keep his body even though that would probably go against the "Goku fought for most of his life helping people" thing. I mean he got to keep it when he sacrificed himself to defeat raditz AND when he sacrificed himself to save the earth from cell. Each time he has his body he dies doing something selfless.
Vegeta doesn't get this privillage however because he lived most of his life hurting others.
Maybe you have to help people most of your life AND Die Heroically in the end also.
Future Gohan and Trunks are my two favorite characters in the series. Witnessing thousands and thousands of deaths to two seemingly unbeatable foes, and still throw themselves into harms way for the sake of others. Giving it everything they got
Maybe Goku wanted to get involved during the original timeline after dying from the heart disease, but the dead are not allowed to meddle with the living. Also Uranai-baba was dead too, she was the one allowing passage from the other world to the world of the living and there was no dragon balls either to revive him. At least that is my take
This sounds kinda dark, but what if Videl, Pan and Mr Satan get slaughtered which makes Gohan rage into a new form different from Gokus or Vegetas.

I have some thoughts on your analysis here.
1) You attributed Gohan’s lack of ascension to SS2 with Goku missing, but I posit that it goes well beyond just him. Future Gohan had no Piccolo to mentor him. He also didn’t have Vegeta coming to the realization that there must be something beyond SS1. His martial arts training would have ended when he was a kid. Without another Saiyan there to teach him about his physiology and the nature of his ability to transform, there is a good chance he wouldn’t figure it out on his own. To the Gohan who lost his dad before the androids showed up, SS1 was the highest form of power a living thing could achieve on its own.
2) It is perfectly acceptable to think that Goku would not have been allowed to keep his body in the timeline where he dies of heart disease. There was a huge difference between Goku’s death in the Cell games and everything else he had done up to that point. He beat King Piccolo in a quest for revenge. His death in the fight against Raditz was certainly noble, but was ultimately a sacrifice for his son. He battled Frieza as much for his own satisfaction and the thrill of a challenge as anything else. He was also motivated by a desire for revenge. His actual fight with Cell was, again, selfish and short sighted, but his death was something special this time. Goku died in the Cell games in order to save not just his son, but the entire galaxy from a problem he had a hand in creating indirectly. He died to redeem himself from hood mistakes with his son and as penance for creating so many threats to the earth. It was selfless, and it’s the only thing he did that required not something other than throwing a punch. He wasn’t overcoming an obstacle. Dying in this way was completely against his nature and that is what makes this so different.

Another thing to mention is Gohan is the only Z fighter who never died (unless you count the Buu arc where earth was destroyed) because he’s always getting saved……even by his alternate self
Future trunks is a disappointment to his own timeline he could easily go find the new planet nemekians and revive every1 but hasnt done so.......
I don't know why you're expecting Goku to talk to Gohan (or anyone) from the afterlife in Trunks' timeline. He didn't talk to them for 7 years in the main timeline, and he only eventually did because there was a tournament coming up.
Gohan knew he wouldn't make it back, that's why he knocked out Trunks.
If Gohan had killed the Androids, there wouldn't be a Goku Black. Trunks would'nt have gone back in time, and there wouldn't be a split timeline and no Goku for Zamasu to become obsessed with.

Kami's lookout, Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Both could've trained for a year inside. They killed the Z Fighters, nothing about the lookout destroyed. Then there's the thing Bulma and Trunks could've gone to New Namek. Yes it was revived in that timeline too because it happened just after the planet exploded and they tried to revive Goku with the Dragonballs, but he survived. Gohan hadn't died prior so he could've been revived with both arms, Trunks training in chamber before both stepping out to face the androids.
So what you say about future Gohan not growing stronger is one of my pet peeves. He DID grow significantly stronger, and the reason he didn't reach his full potential is explained by goku in our timeline. He over trained. To truly grow its made obvious that warriors need times of peace and rest, but future Gohan never got that. This is even shown by trunks. His time of peace before black are why he grew to ssj3 levels of strength. As for goku not speaking to Gohan, that wouldn't have made a difference. Gohan against cell had the strength, so gokus words just push him to stop holding back, meanwhile future Gohan never held back, so goku couldn't have done anything. Besides, goku didn't keep his body because he passed under natural causes. Overall, Gohan couldn't get stronger because he never had time to rest, so he overworked his body, and as goku states in the main timeline, that would only succeed in making you weaker.

Dragon Ball is the story of Son Goku.
Dragon Ball Z is the story of Son Gohan.
Both parts of the franchise focus on both characters distinctly. From their origins, their growth and development, and their power progression. Plus, it would seem odd for DBZ to not be about Gohan, when the series literally starts with Goku introducing Gohan to his friends and the viewer at Kame House. Not to mention, that most of the story can be interpreted as being experienced from Gohan’s perspective.
It kind of makes no sense that Mr.popo didn't reach out to Gohan and trucks to train in the time chamber..
More than likely. Future Gohan didn’t progress because a lack of piccolo, Goku is not a father figure and apart from once trained him.
But... Goku died of natural causes, does that also make you go to the other world with your body and all the abilities?
Also, if Goku dies, if Future Gohan wins vs the androids, not only the oracle fish is wrong, but goku would never face zamasu, and goku black would never exist.
