    This needs to be passed nationally. There are so many wrongly convicted felons, the 2nd amendment shall not be infringed!

    I like it.
    There also needs to be a time limit to any non violent offenders in which the felony is removed from their record (if it doesn't already exist in some states).
    That's where it gets kinda tricky, if someone is convicted and serves time in jail and or prison and doesn't commit any crime let's say 5 or 10 years, and learned their lesson, they should have the felony dropped off their record and full rights restored.
    We all do dumb shit as young adults, and one mistake shouldn't haunt someone 20, 30, or 40 years later.
    Sorry if this was too long but I have an uncle that was charged with a felony waaaaay back when he was young and stupid and he can't even get a regular job now because of it and that was like 40 years ago.

      Is agree with you people should be punished for their entire life for a mistake they made in their youth. It’s wild to think that punishing a person that’s now a member of society will help them live a productive life.

    Will the federal government recognize it? Louisiana prohibitions end for all felons 10 years after completion of sentence as long as no new convictions, however those individuals are still prohibited under 18 USC 922 (g)1.

      I 100% agree. It’s a shameful process going and begging for your rights to be restored and hoping that the judge will show mercy on you. It’s completely embarrassing.

    UNITED STATES MARINE: (From Young-Marine to Man/Husband/Father, to Grandfather.)
    As a young man 50 years ago, was my (3rd) third Non-Violent/Victimless DUI felony offense ...
    All offenses were VOID OF VICTIM, INCIDENT, ACCIDENT, and DAMAGED PARTY.
    After serving (6) years as a front-line Marine during the Iranian crisis (1979), (Before having a wife, children, and grandchildren) the return to civilian life was difficult... (Honorable Discharge )
    Can the Bruen decision help this 67-year-old United States Marine regain his gun right for family and home protection after 50 defenseless, prohibited years based on nexus with 18USC(g)(1)
    (g) It shall be unlawful for any person-
    (1) who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
    When DUI offenses have NO victim, NO incident, NO accident, and NO damaged party, the 2nd Amendment "Right/Privilege" should never be "eternally prohibited"!

    What’s amazing is how they just infringed gun rights with no constitutional Law in place! without one word of remonstrance, all this time ! This must be corrected immediately!
    But when a state can ignore the highest court in the land ruling ;( this example) opens the door for the citizens of that state to ignore the states laws and ordinances.
    Federally authorized but state denied does not work. States trampling the preamble and choking the pledge of allegiance should not be.

    Hello and congratulations on your completion on your journey to acquiring your 2nd amendment rights. I am currently on the same journey. Just wanted to share some information. Not sure if everyone's court system notifies the F.B.I that one's Firearm Rights have been restored. As a Felon you must cover your steps and watch how you are moving. To cover myself I sent a copy of my fingerprints and all of my court paperwork with my restoration of Firearm documents. If your court system doesn't notify the F.B.I that your gun rights have been restored you are still a " Prohibited Person" and you Won't pass the NICS check and the gun sale Will not happen! Please make sure whatever state your conviction is in make sure that they are notifying the F.B.I that your gun rights have been restored and you are no longer a "Prohibited Person". If you don't trust the courts you can do it yourself. Get copies of your fingerprints and upload or send a ink copy to the F.B.I. This process is called a "Voluntary Appeals File" Check it out on the F.BI website. God bless.

      Thanks appreciate the info. I didn’t send paperwork in and was able to pass NICS when buying a firearm. I ended up getting my CCW just to cover myself even though I live in a constitutional carry state.

    There is actually a federal law that allows for felons to restore there gun rights on a federal level It’s 18 U.S.C. 925, the problem is that since I believe 1993 its been defunded and they cannot process any applications but they still exist.

    I have 3 felonies all non violent in Ohio and I'm not under disability. However somebody reported me on Facebook and four ATF agents showed up to my house almost 2 years ago and made me sign something saying I wasn't in possession of any firearms. Can you make a video about federal rights? Because according to the ATF if you are a felon you are under federal disability. I still have the paperwork in my email that I had to sign if you don't believe me I can throw a picture of it somewhere. This is my real name look me up.

    If you want to have your gun rights, don't commit a felony in the first place. Too many criminals think there should not be consequences for their poor decisions. In my state, you can expunge certain felonies after 15 years. I think that is reasonable.

    • @Rightsrestored556
      @Rightsrestored556  Год назад +1

      I think thats very unreasonable. If your not safe enough to be around people then they should keep you for another 15 years. Your sentence should end the day your free and off of parole. I’m glad I live in a state that believes a man deserves a second chance. I got my gun rights back 2 years after being free 2 months off parole. I think the judge made an excellent decision in my case. I understand that all of my actions have consequences I understand that even more as a gun owner.

      Stripping an American citizen permanently of their right to keep and bear arms is a defacto death sentence and usurpation of a power never delegated to government by the founders via the Constitution. Support for such measures is rooted in ignorance of and contempt for the limits placed on the powers our government can lawfully exercise.
