I have some big plans coming for this channel, lots of traveling and a new cinema camera on the horizon. I'm experimenting with a slightly different colorgrading style with less contrast, I wonder if you'll notice if its any better. I normally film a bit deeper but I wanted to try shooting at wider apertures than usual. The NDs I have arent very good, and the white balance is a bit all over the place as lighting conditions were unstable with the coming thunderstorm. 2.2:1 is slowly becoming my favorite aspect ratio as of late, I find it has just the right balance. Anyway I hope you enjoy the video, its fun to go back to my roots.

Amazing, Many filmmakers don't take this camera seriously, but these Zeiss lenses really take this camera to the next level.
Agree, the sharpness is offputting to most, but these lens never feel too harsh and balance it out quite a bit. Great color and performance from the xh2s
Watch coloriser videos on Fuji chroma smoothing and you will understand why filmmakers can't take Fuji seriously for video as they are using hacks 😅

I have a tutorial on flog2 transformation with the xh2s, but i've been using davinci 17 because they changed the settings in the recent updates so it may be outdated. Thanks for watching

Lovely images. You do wonders with that cam. But the price of that lens, wow. But it does make a great image, with the additional help of your skills.
I’ve seen some on eBay around 1500$. Still expensive, but for me I plan on using this lens for a looooong time

So tempted to get an fp for my indie short for a 2-camera setup. Would complement my x-h2s nicely for dark scenes, I wonder. Or, I may just stick to Fuji and get the X-h2. The fp is a different rigging setup and the file size might be an issue.
i think the visuals are quite different, could be difficult to match. For file sizes you will need 1-2T, which isn't that expensive. a 1TB T7 SSD costs like 90 bucks now right while the angelbird cfeb costs over 120 for 512GB. I think recording xh2s ProRes HQ 6.2k might have comparable file sizes, maybe even higher than the 4k cdng

Amazing! Have you tried the Zeiss milvus line? If so, how do they compare with the otus
The 35mm milvus i believe has the closest rendering to the Otus, a little less dramatic but still plenty of pop
Do you feel like using a gimbal is necessary since the X-H2S has IBIS? I have one but tuning it up is such a time suck that I'm even considering using a monopod technique or stabilize in post if needed.
Walking with ibis isn’t the best on this camera. The ibis is mostly good for standing shots. Gimbal always looks professional but the are always other options. You can use a Cine saddle or monopod, I have a video on it
Do you do anything in post to take the edge off? Every other X-H2S footage on RUclips looks overly sharpened to me but yours look so smooth. Idk maybe I'm tripping.
No, at most sometimes I’ll add noise reduction and not balance it with sharpening. It’s because of the lens, which is sharp but never feels harsh. The xh2s is indeed too sharp and that’s why I also like shooting at low f stops with this combination

@@botbot3698 I’d say the Milvus line is a great choice, the 35mm has just as much 3d pop. Though I’m not sure about the performance of the wider 21 and 15mm, I’m sure they’ve been reviewed by CVP. Atm I’m more conservative in my focal lengths, I don’t plan on buying the 85 anytime, I find the 55 to be more than enough for closeups
