    The problem with that flag is 1) it was thrown so late I might as well have been in week 18
    2) Decker checked in with the official before the play and he just decided not to announce it

    • @matthewrose8002

      Problem is he announced the wrong number to the defense as eligible as 70 had checked in eligible all game several times. He said 70 but 68 said he was eligible. The Ref mad a mistake and I will let speculation happen if it was a fix.

      Late flags are not invalid just because they are late. You see late flags quite frequently when there are multiple necessary elements for a penalty. For example. A QB under pressure executes a throwaway. The refs huddle up and then 20 seconds later throw a flag. They are discussing "was he in the pocket?". " Did the ball get back to the line of scrimmage?" "Was there a receiver in the area?"
      Same thing here. "was this a legal formation?" "Did he report?" "Was it announced that he reported?"

    That call at the end of the game was just awful. You can see the Tackle report as eligible to the official. Sure enough the Lions score, then the officials call a game changing penalty. It’s almost like they had to figure out a way to change the outcome of the game. I’m not sure if it is gross negligence by the officiating crew or an obvious fixing of the game. The NFL needs to clean this up ASAP or no one will trust the game and they’ll lose a lot of viewers.

      @@snerdtergusonYou need to learn. Absolute jabroni take from you. Nothing wrong with their formation. Unbalanced line, it went LT LG C RG RT RT. They had three down lineman to the right of the center. The WR on the right side of the formation is on the line of scrimmage so they have 7 on the LOS. The WR lined up to the left of 68 who was the LT is lined up off the LOS this means that 68 can catch a pass as long as he reports as eligible which he did. The ref completely messed this up. You like many NFL fans have no idea about the rules of the sport you watch. Go to bed Lil bro. The adults are talking.

      Oh sure, another crappy call will ‘change the league’, do you mean like when the Lions got jobbed in the playoffs by the Cowboys 8 years ago? Or when Calvin Johnson caught a TD in Chicago that was called not a TD? In both cases the rules were modified/clarified. What can they clarify here? Give the ref a hearing aid?

    • @gameslif1863
      @gameslif1863 5 месяцев назад

      @@dcasiala No, more of like when the Thanksgiving game happen vs the Steelers and now we have to call it before the flipping of the coin. I think you will have to make it clear the ref will call it over the speaker and then tell the defense what was called.

    When I first saw it, I thought Detroit had both guys walk up to the ref, but have one of them register - to confuse Dallas as to which one would be an eligible receiver. And after Detroit converted I was surprised that Dallas fell for it. When the refs announced the penalty I knew something was up because you could see him in the background talking to the ref and pointing at himself. This is a blatantly bad look on the league that has to be publicly adressed

    What about Micah Parsons going 40+ quarters without a holding call when you see a hold on him every other play? Where was the overreaction to that? The officiating has been blatantly bad the entire season and people tell Micah to calm down and play through it. I get the Lions got screwed on this one, but where's the outrage over the former? How many games would have ended up differently because of the non-calls against Dallas? Can't see the forest for the trees here.
