Hope you all have some amazing plans for 4th of July this week! Get out there and spend time with friends, family, and drive those fun cars ;) We’ll have some more fun cars for the channel soon, until then... please enjoy our updated review on the refreshed Nissan Murano. Some of you may notice the audio is slightly off on certain clips, it’s because we had some horrible interference during filming that wasn’t noticed until after Nissan picked up the car. We tried our best to match the voiceover to what was said in the clip. Stay tuned for an update video on our long term Porsche 718 Cayman going live very soon!
No offense dude but compared to the other crossovers I would purchase a murano i test drove that vehicle an a maxima which have the exact same engine an transmission and they both were pretty zippy frankly an I enjoy the styling I would rather buy this than the other options
Call me crazy but I like the styling of this Murano it stands out from the crowd and has one of the most comfortable ride and the most luxurious interiors in the segment
@@christophermaize3563 A LOT of Americans, like myself, have grown tired of weak ass 4 cylinder CUV's / SUV's, like the Toyota RAV-4 or even the Nissan Rogue (My GF owns one..that 170 HP engine is pitiful and the handling truly sucks, I'd never buy one). The CUV has the same 3.5L V6 engine used in the previous Nissan 350Z, although the HP is less, which is what attracts me to the Murano. Am I 100% in love with the new design language vs previous Murano versions? No, but it still looks pretty good and offers a good value for the price with extra room that is sometimes needed, especially if you're a Uber or Lyft driver or hauling kids. Also, I've owned mostly sports cars or sports coupes/sedans, so I'm far from your typical "box on wheels driving American", a LOT of us are driving enthusiasts. Anything else you'd like to add?
I'm so happy with Nissan and how they make these vehicles stand out. The look of this car is just great... Great from all angles and clearly looks unique.
@@zolitariglussey6302 The Murano seems quick enough to me, especially when compared to all the 4 cylinder, no turbo SUV's that are everywhere. Most reviews I've seen show 0-60 times in the 7 second range. That is not slow.
There’s nothing odd about it. It stands out of the crowd in a good way. There are so many crossover vehicles that look alike. I think it’s a great crossover.. with so many features without breaking the bank.
I love the Murano. My family has owned a ‘16, ‘17.5, and ‘18. You cannot beat the value and features. And u like some, we love the ride as well as the styling. They’re just so solid on bad roads. You just point and shoot with no drama. Very luxurious in the city or the highway.
Eh... there's still a little more to be done than just a traditional automatic in my book... (but so much so however with that other Nissan that I don't want to give anymore attention)
Since the public has given terrible feedback about their cvts for the last decade , you'd think they'd listen , nope. 😔 I haven't seen any mainstream Nissan with a automatic since 2006. After that all the new Nissan's we're getting cvts , smh.
You need to stop putting so much emphasis on things like acceleration. Customers in that car buying segment don’t care it takes a whole 1 second slower to get to 60 mph compared to whatever else there is. It’s not going to help people get to their destinations any quicker. It’s a Murano, not a Mustang GT or Camaro SS.
J D I have a 2017 and I agree with you, too. It’s cute, comfortable, drives smoothly and my kids love it. I had dvds installed in the headrests to keep them occupied. Perfect for road trips. Everyone of the reviews says the same thing about speed. I’m hauling children and dogs, speed isn’t something I care about. Safety is my priority.
I remember him saying if you buy that CVT (JATCO IIRC) dont change fluid as per owners manual (100,000 miles IIRC) but that he would change it around every 30,000 miles since those are known to have issues.
I'm a card carrying member of the anti-CVT brigade but I'm not a fanatic. There's no question that all CVT's are not equally objectionable nor that the CVT's of close to a decade ago are the standard by which more recent models should be judged. It's noteworthy that reviewers in the last couple of years frequently note that CVT's are "surprisingly" unnoticeable in their behavior. The advantage of CVT's in terms of fuel efficiency is undeniable. And refinements in design will continue to improve their behavior. At this point, I have the greatest reservations about their applications in large, heavy vehicles with larger displacement engines.
Yup lol. I currently own a 2019 Nissan Maxima the SL trim and it is just flat out incredible. Fast as hell and I truly truly do not get the complaints about the CVT. I love it.
Same here. I'll take a CVT any day over a manual just for the comfort and convenience and over a traditional auto for the reliability and fuel efficiency. Do I miss my old manual? Yes, and I still like to pretend I'm shifting stick while I drive my 2018 Altima. But you'll only really appreciate a manual in less than 10% of all your driving scenario's, unless you drag race for a career. For someone like me who values fuel efficiency, reliability and convenience, CVT's are great. Throw in paddle shifters and you have the icing on the cake. CVT haters really need to get over it.
I love my Murano. I have a 2017 SV trim and I added an aftermarket power liftgate. I also just purchased the 2019 Maxima Platinum trim a week ago. Love it too!
Sean I love it! I have a friend with an SL trim and there isn’t a difference between the aftermarket and the original...in my opinion. I ordered mine from Autoease.com. It arrived in 3days! Do your research. They’re on RUclips and fb. I read every review and watched every video. I’m in Colorado and had it installed through a company here. Although, I’ve seen several videos of people installing it themselves. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you. You may even come across my review on fb. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.
Sorry to disagree but after several test drives (models included in this review) the Murano beat them all. Love our new car. You were correct about the comfort, especially on road trips. And SO quiet you can barely hear the 18-wheeler or motorcycles you pass. Having eleven Bose speakers doesn’t hurt either. You were also correct about the gas mileage. It’s great. And say what you will about the turbo 4-cylinder, this 6-cylinder feels SO much better in highway traffic. And as for “feel” it made a couple of the others feel like driving a Lego. Everyone is different on what is important to them. I like comfort, easy controls, great sound, great ride, and some space in the back. The Murano was worth every penny. (And it was a lot less than some of the others we test drove.)
The audio while he was inside also didn't match the video as you watch him in the back seat, the sound track was either way off, or wasn't following him at all. I think he might have had audio difficulties during the actual filming and didn't realize it so he had to do a voice over perhaps in his home.
how is 25k for a vehicule with a garabge transmission a good dollar for dollar investment? I swear you guys are the reason americans get deeper in debt each year LOL, you could buy a used lexus RX for 1/3rd of the money and get insanely better built quality, luxury, same fuel economy, more power, crazy reliable transmission and powertrain.... but No !! you gotta have that cute looking 2019 murano, and that salesman convinced you to sign those papers, its a great deal he said !! just X amount a month plus x % intrest for 5 years ! hihihi its a great deal SUPER SALE ENDS TODAY BRO GOTTA BUY THIS GARBAGE UNRELIABLE CAR ! the wife likes it !! ;)
Tyburs the Considerate General lol yea he’s the same belligerent dude at parties that you get stuck listening to and try to avoid at all costs. Best to just ignore and let him find the next topic to rant on.
You know, people bad mouth the CVT, but my 2018 Murano is the 3rd Nissan vehicle I have owned with the CVT and I really like how smooth it is. Acceleration is fine with the CVT and V-6. The most impressive thing is the gas mileage. I just came back from a week's vacation at the beach. My total mileage for the trip was 1367 miles for the week and I averaged 32.6 mpg for the entire trip. On the drive down and back, I was right at 34.0 mpg with a fully loaded car, 2 people, luggage, food and 2 sets of golf clubs. Also there is no auto start/stop on this car. It's hard to argue with Nissan's use of a CVT.
Everybody complaining about the CVT has no idea what appeals to the average person. Non auto enthusiasts don’t care about whether it has a CVT. The CVT is smooth and it’s fuel efficient. That’s literally ALL the average person cares about. I’ve gotten 31mpg out this 3.5 V6 beast which is amazing, considering the size and weight
I love the look of the Murano, very stylish! Did not even think about what it would do 0-60. I think of them as family vehicles for traveling. I have a 2018 Nissan Murano, and it rides smooth, and with plenty of pep, if I need it for passing, or getting out of situations . The seats are exceptionally comfortable, they use memory foam like cushion to reduce fatigue, when driving long distance.(zero gravity seat). I was cruising 65 mph; and the tachometer was at 1400 RPM, about 800RPM's above idol. Thanks to the CVT's economy design. If you care about what it does from 0-60. Buy a sports car, not an SUV!
I do really like car reviews videos but what about reviewing base models. Not everyone can afford to buy the high end model and showing the base one will allow the average buyer to have an idea of what we can get for a more friendly budget.
Rafael Toro VIP I do agree, but he only reviews what the manufacturers will send him. 9/10 times, the company will always send a fully loaded version to make the best first impression.
Reviewers typically rely on vehicles provided in "press fleets" by manufacturers. They're provided with top trim models because manufacturers want to showcase the best they have to offer. If a manufacturer offers a base model while its rivals offer top trims, the chances are the comparisons will not be favorable.
You can get a base FWD S model for $25K if you shop hard enough. I did it on an ‘18. At $25K, there is no car that comes even close to the Murano. I’ve had dozens of new cars and can tell it’s fact. It’s just a great, great deal. The best I know of by far.
J.P.M. 52 I agree thats their hope, but given the price difference it’s just unrealistic since other brands in the same segment offer it. No need to go to an upmarket brand for those two features anymore.
Totally agreed. We have this Murano and we love it but were thinking of maybe getting the Passport just to change things up but not having those two features killed off the idea before we even went to the dealership. Our Murano has had a glass roof and 360view since feb 2015 when we got it for Pete's sakes and both of those are features we cannot do without.
Sid Ghosh yea especially on a vehicle that size a 360 cam is really helpful. Have had it on the rogue and wouldn’t want to go back. And the panoroof is a nice feature that’s becoming so common it feels like you’re losing out by going with a vehicle that doesn’t have one. Given the long flat roof line of the Passport it seems like a big miss.
They are a great deal right now. Tons of incentives and rebates off the MSRP. Last month walked out the dealership with a loaded platinum and added on a 6yr/85,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty. Total came to under $35,000.
There's no big secret about Nissan's target market for the Murano. It's aimed at families with one or two kids (at most) and a mission confined to suburban errands and freeway trips. It doesn't pretend to have even mild off-road capabilities. Not suitable for canyon carving but few suburbs have canyons. Instead, it offers adequate performance, fuel economy in the mid-20's, comfortable accommodations (especially in terms of seats), an open, airy cabin and an upscale interior at a mainstream price point. It falls in the "tweener" class of crossovers in terms of length, (192"), virtually the same as an Accord or a Camry. Easy to maneuver in traffic, easy to park. If midsize two row crossovers are the station wagons of the second decade of the 21st century, the Murano is the most "wagon-y" of all. Does the Murano sound like a vehicle meant to appeal to couples and small families where the female half has at least an equal (if not dominant) voice in the purchase decision? Bingo. Will it satisfy drivers who want to project a "rugged" or high performance image with their vehicles? Of course not. If Mom and Dad have to compromise on a single vehicle there are more appealing choices in the category. But if Mom is the main driver and Dad has a car of his own, it can have a lot of appeal.
It is a fact that women in the family make the purchase decision 78% of the time. Like it or not guys they are more practical and objective much of the time. All vehicle manufacturers know these numbers very well and design accordingly. It is no wonder that the very practical SUV is the dominant model in most markets today.
@@rrrogster And contrary to popular opinion it's not males that have largely killed the minivan in favor of SUVs. It's women who prefer the higher driver's seat and image of "rugged" security.
Great review I have 2018 Murano SL and 2019 Lexus RX350. Lexus IS great however when I drive from Florida to NYC I always take the Nissan because the seat are better and also mileage. I great almost 600 miles with full tank. Whereas Lexus on gets most 400 miles.
Lord Commander Manny, I know that Nissan cars have very good gas mileage there's no way you can get 600 miles on a v-6 engine. Even 400 miles isn't very practical.
JokerG16, and it's not a hybrid? That's truly amazing then. For some reason, the one in this video has horrible engine sound. With that noise level, it's hardly come anywhere near that awesome gas mileage. I believe it has a factory issue.
Stevorn Richards, that's very likely. In fact, I totally agree with you. But did you hear the sound of this engine? I wouldn't care for one if every Murano sounded like this one.
I agreed with all your conclusions. I would like to add Nissan needs to revamp its dealership network and their service departments. My advise is to stay away from the AWD as a simple transfer case leak would cost over $3,000 to fix as they need to drop the CVT to get to it. A power steering column leak would also cost over $3,000 to fix. The dealerships are now like a Bazar sales process once sold you are forgotten. Honest service reps seem to loose their jobs And even if you loved your Nissan they for sure make sure that you end up hating it.
You really seem to have alot of critisizms to the Murano in this review, and you're entitled to your professional opinion. However as a Nissan Murano owner i have to say that I do beg to differ on many points. First the body styling you said, "looked like a bloated whale" is inaccurate by far. I think it's pure genius. Not only is it gorgeous, but also next level, considering that no other suv in it's class has been able to compare with the aerodynamics ever since Nissan came out with this body style. You're right that the towing capacity is lacking, but where I'm confused is you criticized the CVT. Not everyone likes it, but you test drove it and said "it's slow" and called the engine sound annoying. That's a completely different analysis than what I've heard from other reviews of the Murano. Personally I find the CVT to be very responsive and quick to accelerate especially in the higher gear ratios I have many traffic experiences to back that up. The ride is smooth and the engine has a very aggressive growl which is anything but annoying It actually adds to the enjoyment of the ride. That's been also confirmed by other reviews and Murano owners. You might not be a big fan of the Murano, and I'm not familiar with the 2019 version, but my 2020 SL in my opinion is definately a great value and a thrill to drive.
Really? 0 to 60 times on an SUV ! Yikes I love you man but I am not that concerned with how fast my SUV gets to 60mph as long as it gets there every time and does it safely and comfortably
I’ll take Nissan CVT’s any day just for their efficiency and reliability. I’ve owned two Altima’s and Nissan continuously keeps making them bette. My 2017 really feels like an automatic and I really can’t complain. You need to keep in mind that this isn’t a vehicle you’re going to take out on a racetrack anyway, and I’d happily make the trade off for comfort and efficiency over sportiness when I’d prefer the former in 90% of my driving situations. People need to really stop crapping on CVT’s . There’s a reason why more and more manufacturers are putting them in their cars.
@@tails300 much better reliability than the German tin cans that seem to drive so well. Getting a sporty car isnt any good if you're stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck every couple of months.
Irvin Pinto the only reason more manufacturers put them is because they’re cheaper to make. They wanna sell you a new car every 5 years. Trust me, the companies are fucking us over big time
@@francismartinez6049 they're also really fuel efficient. They are cheaper because they have lesser moving parts, they're pretty much comprised of magnets that change ratio's on a moving belt.
Ok so this channels comment section is always filled with nissan haters saying how outdated Nissan is, how shit nissan is, all thanks to scotty. What that "pro 30 year mechanic" fails to realise is the nissans made in America are mostly sold locally whereas the whole world gets nissans from japan or mexico, but everywhere else including Mexico nissans are of far better quality especially in the middle east where nissans and toyotas are the only cars which have good air conditioning after 5 years and unlike the kia and hyundai junk u guys have come to love, fr america isnt the whole world
Yes Murano is still the best in that category. I just purchased the 2020 SL Murano its the best looking suv on the streets. and the best SUVs of crossovers.
Ameer K my neighbor’s gave out after 45k miles. I get not owning this vehicle forever but I’m expecting at least 90k miles out of my car before upgrading.
Direct Injection engines can be a nightmare with Carbon build up...i like the v6 murano has now, its strong enough for commuting and city driving plus you get good gas milage. One thing i dont like is having 2WD, the power of the 6 is to much and you will want to start skidding. Get the AWD. good car though, quiet, good power, cvt is fine, good space.
Honda and Toyotas CVT are more reliable than the traditional autos. If its not a manual or a fast shifting DCT or whatever i dont care what kind of auto it is. Its like fighting over which is more boring, a Camry or Corolla.
You are spot on...it is big and ponderous but it would make a hell of a car for a road trip. And the seats are incredible! Some of the most comfortable I've ever sat in. You do get used to the feel of the car and so after a while it does feel lighter and more fun to drive. Nissan really needs to update the styling and interior to make it more modern, though (and by "modern" I mean a little less weird-looking and a little more elegant....I told the dealer that the trim in the car I was test driving reminded me of the bathroom tile in a mobile home). But seriously, I could sleep in those seats.
Nissan's CVT transmissions get a bad rap however, looking at the 2018 "owner's reviews" on Edmunds, 85% gave them 4 or 5 stars (out of 5). I had a 2018 Murano SV as a loaner vehicle just for a day, and it drove well. Powerful engine. Probably the most comfortable vehicle seats I have ever sat in, and I've sat in virtually every non-exotic brand there is. All driver controls were exactly where I wanted them to be. I have a 2007 Nissan Altima with a CVT transmission and it has 160,000 (and counting) trouble-free miles. I have no doubt that CVT transmissions are not as durable as conventional automatics, however, I believe that the 2 keys to making them last are: 1) Strictly following the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, and 2) CVT transmissions (or any non sports car transmission) are not designed to be raced from traffic light to traffic light. I do not like buying used vehicles because I see firsthand (EVERY DAY) how people abuse vehicles, trying to beat their own personal best 0 to 60 mph times....................from stoplight to stoplight. I have been driving for 30+ years, (7 vehicles) and I have NEVER had an engine or transmission problem (and I've owned 2 1990's era Fords). On the highway, I routinely drive 80mph, but I'm not racing my vehicles around town and from stoplight to stoplight. Surely, there are lemons...................BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, etc... Every manufacturer however, if you have a decently well-made vehicle and you take care of it AND drive like you have some damn sense, much more often than not, it will take care of you.
I test drove one of those back in March. Oh that had a sweet sounding engine and getting up that hill was quiet. I enjoyed those zero g foam seats. Problem was, I couldn’t justify it even if I could have afforded it. Too big for my needs. So I went rogue sport. While I agree about the cvt, the rogue sport’s size was just right for my needs. Personally Nissan needs to just take the V6 and drop it into everything from murano down rogue and rogue sport to oh I’ll be generous and throw it in the kicks.
Its a nice car, but the back is just so odd with that pillar, just makes it look a little busy. But its a very nive car, also not a fan of CVT's but the xtronic CVT isnt that bad
I passed one of these yesterday on the road in a 45 mph zone. Sad to say, it was moving at 1 or 2 mph. I only can guess it was the transmisssion. Be careful.
Nice objective review. I purchased a 2019 blue Murano Platinum trim. Did lots of research. Was set on the Murano since it was the best bang for the buck. Bought on clearance for a 20% discount which sweetened the deal. Since they are in less demand, you can really bargain. Added a 6 year 100,000 mile comprehensive warranty so I’m worry free. There’s no such thing as a cheap repair so I felt it was money well spent given the discount I got. I have owned two Nissan Sentras and a Nissan Altima and they were all good reliable cars. Absolutely love the Murano. Just a unique and stylish design. I think the wheels are the best looking out of any SUV. Seats and ride are very comfortable. You don’t buy the Murano for towing or off-roading. Is designed for street. Lower ground clearance than its competitors makes entry and exit easy, but you still enjoy the feel and safety of a bigger vehicle with sitting high but still great road manners. Quiet cabin. My wife is super picky and she loves this vehicle. Infiniti like experience for almost half the price. Plus there are not a lot of them out there so you stand out. Very happy so far.
I LOVE this color combination! If I were to get the Murano Platinum, this is the exact color combination I'd get, althought the Mocha interior also looks very nice too. But for South Florida, I think the lighter interior is probably better bc of how ho it gets down here. It's almost necessary to have ventilated (aka cooled front seats) in your car with remote start with cabin temp pre-set abilities bc of how quickly cars cook in the sun here
I have a 2016 Nissan Murano for 2 years now and I love it, CVT doesn't bother me. This car is not meant to be driven fast, on the contrary is a comfort cruiser good for long trips and fuel economy. Now If you want speed I would advise to look elsewhere for me the power it has is more than adequate
I’m a Nissan owner/fan. I looked at one of these before I got my Altima Platinum. I got in just looking but felt the same as you. Although very nice and comfy it felt dated still and felt the price didn’t justify what I would have gotten. Even after dealer offered a MAJOR discount and price drop. Good review man.
My mother traded in a Cadillac XTS4 for a new Murano and she loves it. She loves the heavy feel which is what was mentioned in the video. I feel the car is designed for ppl 70 and over. I agree that the Murano isn’t very spirited. It’s not sluggish by no means but it could use a little more “get up go” but the age of the average driver that buys a Murano probably isnt concerned with that.
I have not seen a Nissan Murano video yet, that addresses the AWD system and how it handles in inclement weather or a steep, muddy incline. Is the AWD user selectable or does it only kick in automatically? When you consider the cost of repairing AWD systems, unless you really live a place that snows...………..a lot, it seems like the 2WD would be fine. I have a 6 cylinder 2007 Nissan Altima with 155,000 trouble free miles on it. Still runs like a champ, so the CVT transmission is not a big issue to me. I have never had an issue with feeling like I couldn't accelerate when needed. I agree with an earlier poster, every manufacturer has their lemons, however, the key to getting 200,000 miles out of a CVT transmission (or any engine/transmission) is servicing it at the recommended intervals, driving cautiously during the engine break-in period, and not doing those jackrabbit starts when the traffic light turns green. I never would have considered the Murano, prior to the dealer loaning me one while I was having some routine work done on my car. I did not get to take it on the highway, however, I had no issue with its acceleration or steering response. In the short time that I had it, I found no major faults. Seats were extremely comfortable. If I had to nit pick something, it would be that there is a blind spot at the 5 o'clock position, however many vehicles have blind spots. Based on reputation alone, there is no way I would buy a Chevy or a Ford over a Nissan, just for 20 or 30 more horsepower. If you're looking to tow 5,000 lbs, I would want a larger (3 row seating) vehicle, and perhaps an 8 cylinder engine.
@Alderman Fred C. Davis I have one and I could tell you that the AWD system automatically kicks in when it feels some type of slippage. It works really well. It just takes some getting used to because other cars have an AWD lock button but this one just kicks in as it sees fit.
If that transmission could be ditched in favor of a conventional automatic my wife and I would be MUCH more interested in it as a replacement for our CVT 2016 Outback.
The overall styling is a bit busy for my taste but I have to say it looks far better than the 2012 model I briefly considered seven years ago. That version looked like it was designed primarily to transport a carload of fully inflated balloons.
I just got this car yesterday and took it home last night and the left side buttons on the steering wheel don't work except the volume controls. Took it to service and they already said they have to order a part for it. They have no clue why this car has this problem lol. Hope this isn't the beginning of some BS!
This is not really a fare review about the car this is a simple “I don’t like” this and that just because he likes something else. Murano might be the most stylish car in the market for its category... why would you compare it to a sports utility car if if is NOT a sport utility car? . Bigger and faster by 1 second are not a bench mark for a fare review of an amazing car.
You complain about it looking a little bloated, but can't that be said for just about every SUV? The proportions/dimensions of this Murano look pretty standard for it's segment.
The VQ V6 used to be the gold standard of V6 engines. I owned two Altimas with that engine and it used to be great. The competition has passed that VQ engine with better horsepower, efficiency, technology and quality. Add those horrible JATCO transmissions and it's no wonder the Nissan brand is struggling. The least they can do is figure out the transmission. Quality issues aside, if they fixed the transmissions they'd be competitive again because the engines are solid, though very old.
regkarn1 engines are ok. Many of the older ones blew head gaskets and they had lots of cat problems. Overall, as Nissan’s age, I find it’s one problem after the other and at that point it’s not worth keeping these sort of cars past 120,000 miles or so
I don’t give a fuck what y’all say. I just went on a 500mi road trip in my 18 Murano and I was seeing MPG I had never seen before. I’m talking 37.4 mpg. Y’all hate on this car and CVT if you want to lol. I love this baby!
I’m confused whether you’re reviewing the Murano or the passport. Is this a comparison video or a review? I recommend you keep it consistent. If I want to know about the passport, I would go and watch the video.
I hate how all reviewers prefer sport over luxury. Yes I like sporty cars, but I’m not going to be buying a mom SUV if I want something sporty. The mom/old demographic that buys these vehicles want something comfortable and plush.
I think if they gave the Passport the 10AT from the Accord/Odyssey/RDX, raised the ground clearance another inch or so (or better yet, gave it an optional air suspension), added a pano sunroof, and tuned the V6 to make over 300 HP and 300 lb-ft of Torque (or maybe do a Sport Hybrid like some Acuras), it would completely crush the segment. Still, one can dream I guess.... I feel like I just described a Passport Type R or something (Passport Si????? Hmmmmm).
That center screen placement is showing the interior's age. It's a little too low to really be In the line of the driver's eyesight so I would have to test that out how I find that behind the wheel, bc that could make a difference for using Apple CarPlay, the radio, or BT audio along with overall interaction & navigation of the screen menus
Hope you all have some amazing plans for 4th of July this week! nissan has been the king of the v6 market since the 70s
I'm so happy with Nissan and how they make these vehicles stand out. The look of this car is just great... Great from all angles and clearly looks unique.
I just bought one today. Very nice automobile.
Odd looking ? I think it looks beautiful and doesn’t copy or look like every other SUV/crossover on the road
it looks cool, I like it but He says the performance sucks!!
Do these still have transmission issues?
Murano 0-60? 0-100?
A Murano or ANY NISSAN with a 8 speed traditional auto would be a blessing for this company.
Eh... there's still a little more to be done than just a traditional automatic in my book... (but so much so however with that other Nissan that I don't want to give anymore attention)

Exactly
EXACTLY!! No one is racing in a SUV!
Great point man. I have this suv and feel the same way. All I care about is style and comfort
Listen... you are preaching! Don’t care about nun-a-dat!
Just rode in my friend's 2014 Murano. Hands down the smoothest and most comfortable car I've ever been in.
The current model improved greatly. I have owned both.

Just here to read the CVT hate comments, of people who have never even owned these cars😂😂😂
I owned a 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5s and I can say I still over the car. The CVT I don't mind at all. It's the ride quality not the power for me.
@@MartialMind Nice. I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima. Love it!

Starr Walker I just bought a 2019 Murano S & I want to add a power lift gate. How is yours and where can I buy?
Sean I love it! I have a friend with an SL trim and there isn’t a difference between the aftermarket and the original...in my opinion. I ordered mine from Autoease.com. It arrived in 3days! Do your research. They’re on RUclips and fb. I read every review and watched every video. I’m in Colorado and had it installed through a company here. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.
That suv is the prettiest one out there!!. Gorgeous 👍👍❤️💕
Yes! I thought I was the only one who thinks so
Sorry to disagree but after several test drives (models included in this review) the Murano beat them all.
How is it doing now it’s been 4 years since your comment
Audio sucks on this video, sounds like someone is using a vacuum in the background at the start of the video inside the suv.
The audio while he was inside also didn't match the video as you watch him in the back seat, the sound track was either way off, or wasn't following him at all. I think he might have had audio difficulties during the actual filming and didn't realize it so he had to do a voice over perhaps in his home.
My '15 is a rolling couch. Yes it has a letdown of a transmission (boring as all hell), but dollar for dollar it is a pretty damn great kid hauler.

Family '16 SV is great
You know, people bad mouth the CVT, but my 2018 Murano is the 3rd Nissan vehicle I have owned with the CVT and I really like how smooth it is.
Bruh what kind of road you driving to get 31 mpg
+soiceyboy33 Despite the CVT's refinement in performance and fuel economy advantage, it's still an unreliable unit made by JATCO

Murano was never a benchmark, it was a less expensive choice to the benchmark.
If Sofyan doesn’t mention “supple” when explaining the leather seats, engineers will go back to drawing boards! 😂
This is my dream car 😍
S = Shitty (jk)
SV = Standard Value
SL = Standard Luxury

If the Murano can offer a 360 cam and pano roof there’s no excuse for the Passport not to offer it.
Agreed
Not many cars offer 360 Cam. I’m a big fan of Nissan and this is a great looking car. I’m in the middle of debating between this or a CX5 signature

Disagree love my 2019 Murano. Like my 20 yr old niece said ...it’s a tight whip.
Yea the murano is a tight whip it reminds me of a maxima in SUV/Crossover form
The Murano is a nice ride!
Bingo
It is a fact that women in the family make the purchase decision 78% of the time. Like it or not guys they are more practical and objective much of the time. All vehicle manufacturers know these numbers very well and design accordingly. It is no wonder that the very practical SUV is the dominant model in most markets today.
@@rrrogster And contrary to popular opinion it's not males that have largely killed the minivan in favor of SUVs. It's women who prefer the higher driver's seat and image of "rugged" security.
There is nothing dated about that interior...
To me the Murano looks sporty, classy,, and elegant, all at the same time.

I have 2018 Murano SL and 2019 Lexus RX350.
@Liger King I didn’t think it was possible at first, but during my trip I got 634 miles on a single fill up.
JokerG16, and it's not a hybrid? That's truly amazing then. For some reason, the one in this video has horrible engine sound. With that noise level, it's hardly come anywhere near that awesome gas mileage. I believe it has a factory issue.

I loved the first generation Muranos
Every Murano is good
You really seem to have alot of critisizms to the Murano in this review, and you're entitled to your professional opinion.
Brian Brock Some people care about a 0-60 in a SUV. I do care
Disney Fan You don’t buy a SUV for 0-60
I’ll take Nissan CVT’s any day just for their efficiency and reliability.
Reliability? yeah just no…🤨😑😂
@@tails300 much better reliability than the German tin cans that seem to drive so well.

What that "pro 30 year mechanic" fails to realise is the nissans made in America are mostly sold locally whereas the whole world gets nissans from japan or mexico, but everywhere else including Mexico nissans are of far better quality especially in the middle east where nissans and toyotas are the only cars which have good air conditioning after 5 years and unlike the kia and hyundai junk u guys have come to love, fr america isnt the whole world
I’ve made up my mind. I love this crossover. Some of us like the “bloated whale” look lol
Yes Murano is still the best in that category. I just purchased the 2020 SL Murano its the best looking suv on the streets. and the best SUVs of crossovers.
What about the Hyundai Santa Fe? They’re pretty similar SUVs

Lol y'all STILL going on and on about the transmission! The CVT is staying. Get over it.
Honda and Toyotas CVT are more reliable than the traditional autos. If its not a manual or a fast shifting DCT or whatever i dont care what kind of auto it is. Its like fighting over which is more boring, a Camry or Corolla.
+B HM still a trash transmission
Not necessarily CVTs as a whole, it's just the CVTs Nissan insists on using are terrible. Honda and Toyota have gotten it right.
That's why Nissan doesn't have good sales, look it up

This is my ideal color combination for the Platinum model! I love that Deep Blue with this Cashmere interior!
Four years ago today!! I am now considering to buy one as my very first SUV of course bro
The Nissan Murano’s first model year was 2003.
I was gonna say the same thing glad someone pointed it out
RamblinRAM He’s talking about that styling of the Murano
Cortez Miller which came out in 2003...
Be careful.
What year was it ? Cause surely it wasn't one of the newer models

What? I see at least two Muranos on the road every day!
That’s good! Hopefully I’ll see more. I hear a redesign is coming in 2021.

ROTFLMAO!!!!
My father drives it fast. He can reach 105 mph without flooring it easily
You missed talking about the steering wheel. I am surprised because typically you follow a definite pattern when you are reviewing a vehicle.
3 years ago today!! I try to buy one Sofyan.
Have a 18 altima sr. So far no issues with the cvt. Have a lil over 14,000 on it.
Lol. What a great update. I have a 2010 Altima Coupe with over 81,000+ miles and still no problems with the CVT .. So you will be fine.
Nick Nadeau and I got a 2013 Altima with 76k on it with zero problems and loving it as my back and forth to work car.
My dad has a 2007 Murano with over 200k Miles, original tranny.
Had a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S with the CVT. Made it to 172k with no transmission issues whatsoever.
I feel like the SL AWD might be my next one when I have to trade my rogue in.
LOVE THE BLUE!!!!!!!!!! And The Interior!!!!!!!!
Great review as always. Do you know if the Murano is getting revamped in 2021?
If that transmission could be ditched in favor of a conventional automatic my wife and I would be MUCH more interested in it as a replacement for our CVT 2016 Outback.
nissan cars are beautiful.....but i dont buy them because they are not as reliable as honda or toyota
Beautiful? 🤔
Nah Honda and toyota make much better looking cars too
does that weird bend happen up front where the sun shines back at you?
The overall styling is a bit busy for my taste but I have to say it looks far better than the 2012 model I briefly considered seven years ago. That version looked like it was designed primarily to transport a carload of fully inflated balloons.
Hahahaha!
Glad I'm not the only one whose always felt that the Murano looked funny
4:00 that came out of nowhere
Finally even waiting forever
Why no Propilot in the Nissan flagship car. I didn’t get QX50 because no CarPlay whereas Nissan has CarPlay doesn’t make sense!!
Nissan has done a great job for working on this SUV for now I never damn forget for the CVT
You complain about it looking a little bloated, but can't that be said for just about every SUV? The proportions/dimensions of this Murano look pretty standard for it's segment.
But are the turn signals the same lights as the brake lights? Nissan used to have the two separate
Cute shorts. Where’d you get them? Been a subscriber since 2015! And you’re the first reviewer I go to for new car reviews.
Sounds like voice-over. I think audio was added after recording on some parts.
Bought the 2019 last night, awesome looking vehicle!❤️😀👍🏻
The VQ V6 used to be the gold standard of V6 engines. I owned two Altimas with that engine and it used to be great. The competition has passed that VQ engine with better horsepower, efficiency, technology and quality. Add those horrible JATCO transmissions and it's no wonder the Nissan brand is struggling. The least they can do is figure out the transmission. Quality issues aside, if they fixed the transmissions they'd be competitive again because the engines are solid, though very old.
regkarn1 engines are ok. Many of the older ones blew head gaskets and they had lots of cat problems. Overall, as Nissan’s age, I find it’s one problem after the other and at that point it’s not worth keeping these sort of cars past 120,000 miles or so
I don’t understand the issue with the Nissan key fob. It’s a nice size and is more interesting looking than most
I don’t give a fuck what y’all say.
Nice review. How do you prefer the way a vehicle look. What's wrong with bloated? It looks fine to me.
I think these are sharp and I like how it’s bigger I may buy one used
I hate how all reviewers prefer sport over luxury. Yes I like sporty cars, but I’m not going to be buying a mom SUV if I want something sporty. The mom/old demographic that buys these vehicles want something comfortable and plush.
Agreed, it is a full blown mom mobile, but I love the sporty looks of it.
This is the exact color combination I would get if I get a Murano Platinum
Pray for Sofian..... Nothing wrong with him, he just needs to have one video with no mic problems 😭
