Its nice that there are vehicles like the Murano that focus on comfort and practicality instead of everything needing to be sporty. I choose comfort/luxury over sporty every time. Great review as always Nolan.
I will be purchasing the 2020 SV in about 2 months. I own a 2002 Dodge Stratus so the interior of the Murano is an upgrade, not out-dated at all. It will certainly be a step-up for me! Can't wait!
I have a 2020 SL and I love it. I mean, I don’t care too much about “infotainment” lol (music and maps are perfectly fine). Then, i could see needing a bit more advanced system if you’re keeping kids entertained. (I don’t) and thankfully with nieces and nephews, my sparkling personality does the trick. 😂. I gotta say as far an everyday vehicle it’s pretty great. Rides beautifully, has plenty of power and it’s massively comfortable. Also the full length sun/moonroof combo. (I like it). It fills my compulsive convertible addiction with just enough of a “fix” to make it tolerable. My days of feeling the need to go Rip roaring about are less of late, and (I have another car for that). Still, even if I didn’t, I really have no need for “ultra exciting” steering and I’m 38, the interior looks fantastic to me!!! It feels like “home”) lol. Yeah, I don’t care about the shiny black plastic, I didn’t even notice it and the shift knob reminds me of better days. All good by me. I’m also VERY glad there aren’t one of those silly tablets sticking out of my dashboard. (Well, it’s not for me,) Every guys gonna like his own thing. This fits my style and suits me well. It’s comfortable, it’s for cruising, I can fit her stuff in the back. I have no complaints save one. For some inexplicable reason In thunderstorms water comes out of the handles that release the rear seats forward. (Enough to be a serious worry too) not a couple drips. Lol so I don’t know where it’s coming from yet but (I’ll find it.) or make it the dealer’s problem more likely. I am a little annoyed with it I mean (I get it’s not a Mercedes) but that’s not an excuse to deliver a $50,000 sieve. (And yeah, the SL is Over that by a bit after tax and the rest of the B.S.) so. Idk it’s probably something stupid, it usually is with this kinda thing. Still, I’m wondering if it’s just me? You’d think there’d be more people annoyed if it wasn’t. Regardless, I like everything else about it. (Enough I’d rather solve the problem than switch it out to another brand). Or Haven’t yet lol. Anyway, one Guys opinion/ experience thus far. I mean the rest is average, ok gas mileage and such. If you’re buying this that’s likely not a huge concern but still, it’s comparable to the rest. (Oh and yes, the Rouge was tempting) especially for a good bit less. To be honest I’m still not (entirely) sure I made the right call there but this is how it ended up. Ya know best I think I can put it is (I would’ve been happy with that one) but I love this one. There wasn’t a great deal of debate really. Idk I hope I did the right thing. Really I wouldn’t have bought one of these at all but I wanna be a good uncle or guy in general, make sure the kids or my girlfriend are safe as possible at least (while still driving something half cool.) idk. I tried to factor it all together and this is what I arrived at 🤷🏻♂️. Better or worse but that said I do love it for what I had to work with
Just bought a 2019 Platinum AWD and love it. My car insurance went down and my MPGs went up 👍🏻. I drive mine with the shifter in Manual Mode and it's way more responsive!
You should give a Chevy Blazer a try they ride a lot smoother than these. I actually test drove one of these and found it very uncomfortable, seats were pretty good but the ride was harsh and the transmission is terrible.
The interior looks comfortable. I like the dual screen setup cause you use the center screen to control you functions and the upper screen to view navigation and other information. Great review my friend.
Great vehicle, and a bit outdated. As for CVT I think Nissan did a good job with it. Generic statement that CVT transmission is not as good doesn’t really apply to Murano. This SUV ride handles is really good. Very economical. I own 2017 and can get up to 30 mpg on highway easily. With all that said, Murano has definitely outdated interior and infotainment system. Cargo space is above average. Over all Murano is excellent entry lever luxury SUV.
Sup Nolan! Good review. I own a 2018. The CVT is a stepped CVT. It’s just by the time it starts to switch “gears” you’re already exceeding the speed limit. Best to try it on the highway
Once again, great review Nolan. Love our 2018 Murano, engine pickup is excellent......one reason we purchased it. I totally agree on the numb steering thou, I personally like a heavier feel. 😎 Look forward to your next review.
Can you help me please? I just purchased a Murano 2020 SV a week ago and I am not happy with the way it runs when you remove the foot from the gas pedal going 30 or higher, when it hits 25 miles an hour it will go fast, the speed will continue for several minutes that is scary because when you want to go slow instead of braking fast it will keep running. That is one problem the other one is that it runs in drive 5 miles an hour by it self not pressing the gas pedal, I went back to the dealership and they said is normal, I am a 62 years old lady and I need help with this please they just ignored me. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.
@@corinamuller1788 Hi, been leasing Nissans since 2008. Sentra SER, 1st gen Rogue, Altima, 2nd gen Rogue, 2020 Murano. All CVTs. The Nissans I've driven all did this, coasting down past 25mph it "feels" like the CVT shifts into neutral. This would reduce any normal supplemental engine braking from 25mph on down. You get the same effect driving a manual shift, slowing down to stop & depressing the clutch the vehicle will coast a little freer. With these Nissan CVTs, this phenomenon is actual beneficial, you have more accurate steering & even braking on slippery, icy or snowy conditions. You have to adjust your force on the brake a little to compensate.
I don’t usually get to pick a vehicle or get it when I want it lol. I’m at the mercy of Toyota when they approve another vehicle 🤷🏻♂️. If I get one I’ll make a video though!
I love this platinum. Only thing I absolutely hate is why do companies not want to put 8 way power in the passenger seat? I need the seat to go up and down.
I do like the Murano but it is very outdated as far as the look of the interior. But the refresh of the exterior looks really good to me. But yeah its definitely time for a new one.
Man, I remember how cool the Orange Murano was when it first came out, but since then it has gotten dated. I’ve driven many of these over the years. They feel solid, but definitely showing age. The styling makes for weird visibility issues. The powertrain in my opinion is a let down. It’s not quick and Nissan’s poor excuse of a transmission is noisy and elastic feeling. That power tailgate on the SL and up us given us issues. I think spring for an Outback or maybe the new Venza if it were my money.
Lol the fact that Subaru is dead last in global sales should tell you that they're not as good as others. The venza is not a midsize crossover and should not be compared to a Murano. Your comment seems to be a joke.
Hey Nolan, Hope all is Great! Observation here. This is the MURANO, It use to the Nissans Flagship SUV reserved for People who wanted something different than a Explorer. A Personal Luxury SUV. What’s the point now of having a MURANO in the line up?
After almost a year: - cameras resolution should be illegal, it's an absurd picture quality! - start push button suppose to be placed in classic key position - I really miss power liftgate in SV - after 15k I can hear irritating noise from tires, maybe because of AWD. Other than that perfect car for up to 4 people. Not worth 40k though.
There is nothing worse than on screen only controls. It is so unsafe and cumbersom imo. Props to Nissan. Personally, I like the way the cvt's drive. I like the constant powerband engagement.
Dont Buy Nissan, I owned a Nissan Murano years ago, its the worse decision I made to buy this scrap. Not only the quality its poor, but the service. I live in Mexico and the Nissan shops are very corrupt, they steal the people by not doing the service they should. Tons of people report they don’t get the oil changes and replacement parts they charge. Problems are never solved properly and there are tons of complaints. I am glad they are sawing what they deserve. I made may complaints and never receive attention, Now I am with Honda, Ford and GM. Better quality at least for the same or better price cars.
I owned a 2004 Nissan Murano SE, loaded, black w black leather seats, airbags all around, CVT transmission, dual exhaust pipes, heated seats, mirrors, boise system with FM AM, 6 cd changer inside, not in the trunk, navigation, etc. I loved it! People use to stop me to discuss the car. I sold it in January 2021. As long as the maintenance is kept up, there were no issues.
Its nice that there are vehicles like the Murano that focus on comfort and practicality instead of everything needing to be sporty. I choose comfort/luxury over sporty every time. Great review as always Nolan.
Absolutely, I hope they always keep it comfortable and practical! Thank you very much!
Love the sporty looking murano. Lots of leg room front and back.
The Murano is still a nice looking vehicle. It’s not outdated. Not everyone wants a huge tablet
Best SUV in Nissan’s lineup.
Have owned the Murano Platinum.2020 since June 2020 overall we have no complaints whatsoever.get lots of compliments on the body styling .

Thanks Jerald!

I’m tired of getting an SUV’s and being uncomfortable I sat in one of these and loved it now I’ll have to take it for a test drive

Great review Nolan, Wow that is an aggressive front end. Looks great. :-)
I like your older vids & I buy this SUV 1 day.
The interior looks comfortable. I like the dual screen setup cause you use the center screen to control you functions and the upper screen to view navigation and other information. Great review my friend.
Thank ya sir! I always appreciate it!
Best Murano ever!

Exactly and that's why I love the Murano.
Good review. Going to the dealer for options today.
Dig it. The V6 in that thing is sublime

I’m glad to hear that! I enjoyed my time with it. Thank you very much!

“Not spacious” it looks look an apartment back there lol
Haha I know what you mean. Compared to vehicles this size, no...but compared to some smaller crossovers yes lol
Does the Murano S trim have a button to open the back in the inside.
Great detailed reveiw❤️👍🏻

Keep in mind that this is really a 2015 Murano... it hasn’t been refreshed since then
You are kidding? Outdated compared to what? One may not like Nissan's CVT but current generation Murano still looks very appealing....
Can you create a murano night review

Tigerfan 82 all great points. That’s a shame about the power gate. Such a bummer. Have a great weekend sir!

In 2019 the bright orange color was changed to a darker copper color. It is totally different and I love my 2019 Pacific Drift Chromaflare.

murano = maxima as an SUV

It’s got that VQ motor it’s quick
There is nothing worse than on screen only controls. It is so unsafe and cumbersom imo. Props to Nissan. Personally, I like the way the cvt's drive. I like the constant powerband engagement.
I wish modern cars would quit making these giant center console things, ie me somewhere to flop my knee over on a 12 hour trip.
Old murano use to looked big but the new one looks small and the back gives a Nissan juke look 🙄.
Muranos are still big lol
Looks trimmed down on the outside but great leg room in the front and back.
