As someone thats 'cured' type2 diabetes, I can say a low glycemic whole food plant based diet will change your life. Lost 110 pounds, and still continuing. Learning the psychology of why we eat will be the first step in this process. Using something like noom will be the best way forward.
I'm diabetes type 2 6.9 a1c lost over 20 pounds so far within a few months going to get a1c tested again hope to have brought it down I've cut out all soda and candy replaced white bread and pasta with wheat instead Hope my hard work paid off (Still going) 😀
Interesting I had** hypothyroidism Hashimoto's on 75 tirosint PCOS Pre Diabetic NAFLD Fatty pancreas and at 188 pounds at 4 foot 11. My endocrinologist put me on carnavore//keto. Added 13.5 extra tirosint and I dropped 30 pounds in 1 1/2 months. Then dropped me back to 75 tirosint then lost another 15 pounds in 2 weeks then dropped me to 50 and lost another 20 pounds. I no longer have any of the above. But it doesn't give me the right to eat the same foods I did before to create this. But always worried about putting that weight back on. Most patient s can't do a keto or carnavore diet because they miss or want the sweet stuff and carbs. But if you tell them they WILL DIE or have more excessive issues if they don't change can be a huge motivation.
Low carb diet (less than 20g per day), low to moderate exercise... Walking, biking, weight lifting 30 min daily. Strict blood glucose monitoring when eating more than 20g of carbs per meal. No snacks. Have three meals or two if possible. Basically the less times you eat, the less insulin your body has to produce which is the main reason why diabetics struggle to lose weight: Insulin resistance.
I did it with no sugar and no carbs period. I did it with carnavore and now no longer have medical issues. And I had allot. I lost over 60 lbs in 4 months and it was under a strict endocrinologist.
