Allow me to clarify the following. Before any video, including this one, is uploaded, it undergoes thorough scrutiny to ensure the functionality of the demonstrated methods. The approach I present has been tested on my machines and other users with successful results. If you are now attempting the exact same method step by step and encounter issues, unfortunately, I cannot prevent this possibility. Hello, how can I avoid the black screen when minimizing? it usually takes 1-2 seconds and is annoying. This only happens when using a custom resolution
Hello ! Unfortunately you can't do something for this ....except if you play windows full-screen in your games
when u use custom res. select the same custom res u use ingame from Nvidia settings before u open ur game
@@SkyyKeiron I wanted to avoid that step because doing it is always annoying. Is called HRC HotKey Resolution Changer v2.1 I recommend it if you want to avoid always opening the nvidia panel to change the resolution
I have a question, I have an inbuilt 144hz notebook monitor that doesn't let me play on the resolutions I usually play (1280x960) and AMD control panel doesn't let me create new resolutions, is there any risk if I try setting a 144hz custom resolution?
why doesn't it let you? it should work just fine, "doesn't let you" is easier fixed than using alternative tools to do the same.
any idea on if a higher pixil clock produces less ghosting or a clearer image? or is it the opposite that a higher pixil clock means they also take longer to refresh?

hello, one issue, even tho i used to be able to run 1080p@75hz, i restarted windows, i used to be able to do this with nvidia control panel (custom resolution) but now it doesnt work so i tried this as well and nada
i know my monitor should be able to do it, but when i do it this method even tho it says 1920x1080 it actually sets it to some 4:3 res @59, any idea how to fix this or should i just give it up?

When I deleted some resolutions like 4096X2160 in CRU, the nvidia control panel had many settings missing, like resolution and other important ones. Know of a fix other than resetting drivers?
It’s depends the resolution that you delete etc so no you can’t do something for this , each res has his specific settings
What is the difference of timing option list? Like which one is better to choose? And everytime I open my pc I need to apply the 75hz does it have an option that fix?
Personally, from my limited experience with this program, I have never needed to reapply the CRU settings after each restart. As for the settings I didn't cover in the video, I haven't delved into them, so I cannot guide you. The only advice I can offer is to be very careful and conduct thorough research before taking any action.
why cant i scale to 2560x1440 when it is my current resolution, but cru deosnt allow me to add it
Follow again the video but in the part which i say to keep hz at 60 you must change your resolution and set it to 2560x1440 and continue the process . Also make sure they you have select your monitor with this res . I hope you to fix your issue .

I have used CRU for about a year on my XL2546K everything was done correctly and have had 0 issues.
I have an OLED arriving tomorrow, and want to know if the settings I have on my current need to be reset or if I can just plug in the 27GR95QE and be fine?
New monitor means you need to repeat the procedure,, I suggest you to reset everything by now in order to tomorrow to be ok

@Wrath__ Ahh ok , then it will reset everything but I suggest you to reset before you plug the new one because sometimes can cause black screens - bugs etc
Can u tell me what all these timings in CRU mean ? Can we overclcok pixel clock ? and why u used Exact Reduced timing instead of manual or automatic pc or any other option ? Should I manually set my pixels or would it be bad idea ?
I haven't used many "methods" and the best in my opinion or the most safe it was exact reduced , now if you want to experiment further it's your decision and personally I haven't deal with it so deep in order to have the knowledge - experience to help you .

blurbusters has a article that suggests less apparent ghosting with crt standard which has a higher pixil clock, and from other sources i may be dead wrong but say that that allows for more info to be transfered from the monitor, unsure however if exact or excact reduced provide a benifit

@bri7971 I'm on a laptop with an AMD cpu meaning things on ny screen go through my integrated gpu and since this program is made to force your gpu to force a screen res and not your igpu it just doesn't work

It's a possibility . I think one in comments tried the same and he had issues so I don't know , from the other hand I don't think so that you will have issues.

Cheers Alchemyst, hope you do well. I was keen to adjust some settings on my Dell U4025QW using CRU. CRU shows the Display name, unfortunately, it wont show me the used resolution of 5120x2160. When trying to add it, text is red, so I even cant add is as a profile. Do you have any idea to add the profile in CRU? reason being, I do have extrem high VRAM values in idle, causing idle watts usage of around 105watts, therefore I wanted to adjust the vertical blanking lines... Have a good one!
Hi, the problem probably is that you want the CRU to add the specific resolution. If with the method by the video you can’t find any solution things get complicated. Your monitor by default supports that resolution or are you trying a different? If it’s the default do you set the same hz (frequency) or different? In general this tool can get complex by monitor to monitor and nobody can predict the behaviour individually for each monitor.
Wow, thanks for the prompt response! Yes, its all native by the monitor, resolution and Hz are just default! Maybe they didn't add it yet as the model was launched just beginning 2024?

Make sure that GPU is enabled from device manager or reinstall the gpu driver
Why would one use CRU instead of Nvidia control panel and set the Scaling to Fullscreen? This question is not related only to valorant game but in general. Is input lag reduced? The feel of the game is better?
I will answer simply , you can't secure the stretch only from control panel , CRU is an easiest way to that and secure the stretch and play with the resolution ! frequency of monitor (hz) , it's the program that will reduce the input lag but the resolution that you will use .

yes you must set the resolution that each time you open the game. I'm saying is that what am saying above .
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Gave it a try earlier and succeeded. Both resolutions match In the Display Settings, and everything set and done as in video. I did not notice any difference in gameplay/input lag. Feels exactly the same as Scaling>Full Screen and Perform Scaling: Display.

This does not let me set a resolution for 1440p - I am trying to use this software as when ever I turn on Nvidia Image Scaling I lose my native resolution and the ability to use 165Hz.
Some other users unfortunately encoutering the same issue , my advice is you to try maybe other method of CRU or other tool.

Unfortunately it’s something that can’t be predicted…try to change cable or change ports from monitor and gpu and try to connect…

I suppose you follow the instructions , i guess you select before and after No scaling in control panel ( for Nvidia ) for Radeon isn't necessary , Also i suppose you you set a res stretched or below than the default monitor resolution . I had a client who had the same problem with vertical bars because of his BenQ monitor .Do you have BenQ monitor ?
Hello sir, everytime I opened my pc my screen was a little bit low brightness so I need to adjust it everytime to switch from 60hz again then revert it so it can high the brightness
Check monitor settings and control panel settings and make sure to save them , if it revert them every time then it’s looks very weird

I can't find ANY information about how you identify each monitor. I have 5 monitors connected (including one phantom monitor because windows identifies my HDMI arc soundbar as a video output device) the default names in the utility don't match the names ascribed to them in windows, Nvidia or any other program. According to the utility, I have 3 identically named monitors. So I have no way of knowing which monitor I'm adjusting because there's no further information on which monitor is represented by which name!!!🤷💁🤮

Maybe it’s depends the monitor ,make sure that you followed exactly every step or search for different method .

How did you figure out that is drop to 120 . Did you use any program for identify this issue ?

And this happening only when you use CRU?Usually if you play call of duty you must change in game those settings like the refresh rate .

Restart in recovery mode should revert most of those settings. Hold f8 or something

Yes but it's a TV not a monitor and that's means maybe you must follow different procedure or even you can't just use this tool for TV.

Everytime i do it i get a a black split in the middle of my screen and I can see what ever is in the middle twice(I have a 240hz moniter) it also works normal but only when i set it to 60hz

Can i fake the refresh rate of my elgato game capture from 60 to 360hz to match my main monitor?

Hey 👋 . I suggest you to try different ports of the cable of monitor , reset monitor settings if you can , reset the graphics card .Optional use different cable to revert the procedure.

If you can't reset it by using CRU , try to change the ports of the cable , get access to monitor settings and do factory reset
There is a problem for this utility is it can cause to reset ur entite windows and it happend to obce and liswen carefully becarefull wirh cru exe bc it can make ur screen go black with no cursor and that means the black screen of death no cursor and tha reasons it caused by is harware system error and software so use cru carefully
It's depends by what you do . If you try higher resolution than the current , if you try to overclock the hz of monitor, if you try to do the procedure in laptop's screen.

It's depends the resolution that you choose or the frequency (Hz) ...obviously I wouldn't uploading a video that has the potential to destroy something .
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS my laptop is 165hz i did same as you and it got to 60hz and the option to 165hz disappeared so I tried to do the same but with 165hz and it crashed, is it possible to switch between the two refresh rates ?
Hmmm the parameters and the info that you gave me have been changed . It could be because of that because you are in laptop but again I can't be sure , it's could be because of this or you should follow different method / procedure then the procedure from video

you should add information regarding disclaimer that this method will not work on laptop, other fact is you shouldn.t restart the laptop by clicking the restart64.exe, other guides mention just restart it via windows way instead.
i was trying to change my laptop resolution from 1920x1200 to 1366x768 to do some job application test, but your method send my laptop directly to black screen, took me 2 hours to figure revert it via safe mode, your video is definitely not beginner's friendly
I tested it on my monitor & laptop obviously before I upload the video and that method works on me . It's common sense to understand that is the user responsibility to use a guide or not . I can't predict any individual case of every user and prevent it .
When i try to change it in Display adapter properties it just goes back to 1920x1080 60hz no matter what

If this res it's the default of your monitor with the "right" frequency (Hz) theoretically you won't have any issue.

Remove and replug the cable , try different ports or even better different type cable to reset everything .

I suppose the procedure is the same ( if you intend to overclock the panel it's risky )
it only works for me when i just change the resolution to something higher in manual mode(default for me) and restart the laptop and it works!
