Paul Hornung is my all-time favorite player. When I first started watching pro-football in the early 1960's I saw this guy who was a great running back, a great blocker, he threw and caught passes, kicked off, and kicked PAT's and field goals. I very much admired his versatility.
Met Mr. Kramer at the state fair, thank him for my mother who religiously watched the Packers on Sunday. Told him of all the joy him and his teammates gave her for many years ! And thank him for her ! He thanked me for sharing this ! He made the signed autographed picture out in her name ! She has it in her office, she 91. Jerry Kramer a true classy guy and Gentleman !!
I owe Mr. Kramer a huge debt of gratitude...I was a huge packers fan as a young boy growing up in Cocoa Beach, Fl. in the early/mid 60's (The Dolphins hadn't yet come on the scene so Fl. had no NFL/AFL team) and not only was he one of my favorite Packers, Paul Hornung was my favorite, but when he wrote his book Instant Replay, it was the first book I ever read and not only did I find it very intriguing with all the behind the scenes tidbits about my favorite team, but more importantly I also found it loaded with life lessons and words of wisdom form Mr. Kramer, many that I carried forward in my life and played a not unimportant part in me having the success that I did in my academic pursuits, life and career. Thank you Mr. Kramer and may you RIP.
I love Kramer. Great player, but he has told so many stories about the days long ago that without him we might not have ever heard. He has been so gracious to give time to everyone so that history could be saved. Awesome guy.
Love the old timers! What a glorious time for football! Never to be seen again!
