Man, did we have such a KILLER time with the Borresen X2 and Axxess Forte 3!! - This system will have "END GAME" written all over it for many AUDIOPHILES!!!! Thanks to Audio Group Denmark and Next Level HiFi for making this possible!! We have raised and donated over $7000 to youth musical programs so far!! HECK YEA!! If our youth don't create the music, we have NOTHING... Cheers!
I have heard the X6s with a full Benchmark setup, the AHB2 power amp, the HP4A pre and the DAC 3 HGC. I think I have never heard something better regardless price, which says a lot. That full Benchmark setup just gets out of the way and let the X6s do its thang, it is so accurate the true nature of the X6s just shines through. Ive heard the X6s with Aavik front end which costs way more and they dont sound as good. The M series are something else, unobtainable for mere mortals like me but the X series brings 95% of the M series to the table. What a mind blowing experience.
I just added the Forte 1 to my system about a month ago. I couldn agree more with this review. I have never heard one component that has a dac can basically laugh at most dacs in the sub 10k space, one of the best sounding amps and excellent streamer in one box. If this item cost 2-3x the price it would steal be a steal. Can't imagine what the Aavik line must sound like.

OK. Thank you for your upload. I’ve been an owner of Axxess Forte 1 for almost a year now. I might be one of a first users of that unit. Unfortunately during first quarter of the year I experienced one replacement of equipment with new one and one repair under warranty. Still my repaired device behaves strange. F.ex. If you use analog line from a loud source you can still hear the sound even if you turn the potentiometer all way down. Navigation system both from the panel and remote controller doesn’t belong to the most intuitive ones. I replaced my Densen B-150XS and relatively unknown Polish streamer JAG BAS v2 with Axxess Forte 1. Conjunction of Densen, JAG BAS and Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 mk2 gave me more “fluid” sound with wider soundstage with and more “air” and gradation of the soundstage. (BTW the orchestra conductor who I sold the Densen to, was very impressed how Bluetooth Analog System of this tube preamp streamer astonishingly worked) On the other hand Forte in conjunction with my Alexander Gray 02 sounds coherent, also even organic, analog like, powerful (it’s stronger than it arise from paper) enough to make many demanding speakers sing. All together give decent impression. When they fix the firmware to work more stable and remove some quality issues, I think buyers will enjoy the real music, especially if they give it a shot with a pair of their new entry level tower speakers: Axxess L3. Cheers
@@abxaudiophiles it’s awesome they’re making stuff at a lower price, though still out of my reach. Makes you wonder how much better the pricier stuff can sound 😯
@@billythestalker I can certify the top tier stuff sound much much better. You totally get what you pay for in this game. Although the level of trickle down sound and performance is notable and appreciated. 😍😍
Yeah those speakers oooz sex appeal. They win on looks alone and the size is so nice to work with. By far the axxess forte 3 is my favorite component ive yet had in my system. Im head over heals all for it.

Thanks James, nice review and contagious enthusiasm. Question: should you NOT be able to build your own OBs and would a pair of OBs cost you as much as these X2, which one would you pick and why?
Our open baffles cost around $2,000 to make DIY. The Borresen X2 are the best cabinet based tower speaker I have heard. All I will say further is that my open baffles remain in my primary system and will continue to do so.😁😁
@@abxaudiophilesAlso, when I searched Axxess Forte, this video doesn't show in the results. I came across it by accident. Just wanted to let you know.
Hi, great review. I'm curious to get your opinion.. If you have the budget to purchase a pair of Focal Diablo Utopia Colour EVO Bookshelf Loudspeakers or the borresen X2, which speaker would you choose? Thank you and I'm looking forward to your response?
Well, that is a bit tough as I have only heard one in my room, both at the show. I would only feel comfortable saying you'll have to go with the one that you prefer the house sound of. I would not be mad with either; at the show, I liked the Borresen room over the Focal slightly, but both are fantastic.
I bought my axxess forte 3 on the back of listening to the forte 1 several months back. Previously, after hearing what a single Anzus cable could do to improve my streaming, I became hooked on what this group of designers were doing. My dealer who has been to Audio Group Denmark's HQ, tells me one of the most extraordinary things he's ever witnessed was how they demonstrated how the sound of even their most basic amp, the forte 1 could be brought up to an extraordinary degree by cabling. They put better and better mains cables and speaker cables on this €5000 all in one and finished up with €100,000 cables on it. Through the same speakers, it just got better in leaps and bounds. After a lifetime in audio, he said it just made him question everything he thought he knew. These guys at AGD are geniuses in their field. Their cables and internet switches are extraodinary, and there is amazing synergy throughout their product ranges.
Yep, I love thin film tweeters. I have the GoldenEar BRX with AMT tweeter. Next upgrade someday will be the Borreson. music source=Apple Music lossless
I’ve seen this setup compared against a lot of systems lately, and it sounds awesome, but I haven’t seen (heard?) it compared to anything from PSAudio. I wonder why … ?
Nothing fancy. We ran some Grado’s, ETA, Emotiva GR1, an assortment of just MidFi stuff. I think it’s a bit odd to put a headphone amp in products like this, but I get it. 😊😊
Hello, I heard Forte in conjunction with AudioVector R3 Arrete at their main reseller in Aalborg. Their pair it together to show interested people. I was astonished with the experience. The sound was trustworthy, big, dynamic. No wooliness. Very vivid.
We have a wide array. Pine Tree Audio’s cables for the most part, but the funny thing is we liked the cheap Monosaudio power cable with standard 13ga OFC and all copper ends. 🥰🥰👌👌

Where are they on the range of "warm-neutral-analytical" side of musicality?
I would say Neutral, all performance, a touch of musicality but not the main focus. Not analytical.
