Making SPOOKY Swingy Gameplay

- In this video, I pick back up the layout I started in my video "Starting my Passion Project". This is a completely different part, way later in the level. To see the process behind the whole layout, yall will have to wait a while. These videos serve more as previews (and easy content lol).
In this video, I mess around with the new swing copter mode and heavy ship. I made tendrils, shards of glass, and other unsettling gameplay elements to fill this spooky part of the song I'm using.

I’m currently making a level and experimenting with making good gameplay, I have spent a long time on my layout too idk why people say 30hrs is a lot. It’s not when your learning new game modes and how to make them fun

I love this style of building video, its slower and spaced out which really gets specific about the process, pretty calming to watch and satisfying.
Yeah I'm really liking mixing the 2 types together. There's no way I can feasibly go into this much detail for every part of my projects, but it's nice to zoom in on more what the actual experience is like for bits and pieces.

Those tendrils really make the gameplay fit the spooky atmosphere of the song

A while back I really wanted to make a Rayman legends themed level, but had trouble with some of the enemies that act like the tendrils. I CAN FINALLY DO IT NOW (if that's all good with you ) Also just watching your videos makes me feel really calm and happy, thank you very much for making these Jam :)

This song that you’re using gives me Celeste vibes in this spoooky part somehow.
Also, I haven’t been watching the streams so when I heard that you already had 2 minutes of gameplay I was very confused, because last I saw you had like 20 or 30 seconds.
I’m really exited for this level to be done.
Edit: oh yeah, Celeste chapter 5, that’s what it reminds me of.
Ideas for black part: Like a small underwater lake part where the tendrils are like squid/octopus tentacles and the rotating spikes are fish or rocks that ended up in the lake or inside of a mountain with puddles that make octopus/squid tentacles (tendrils) come out of them. The spikes are crystals, and the blocks are just rocks (Basically just the crystal chapel part in the cellar path)
Got 20 minutes in just to realise you have to decorate the tendrils, more trigger work yay! Simon better be different

i like the more slow, chill vibe of this level compared to Cellar Path or Glorious Fortress. this level is coming along super well!

I have a vague idea for the deco of this section! my idea is that it’s got broken windows in the background with glass shards in the foreground and the rectangular bits are windowsills/blinds. the transition at the beginning could be the ship going to a prism that causes light to beam through, making the closing in walls the edges of the light. a glass shine effect goes over the screen, transitioning into gameplay. Might be a little complicated, but I think you could do it!

swing copter does not need y position resetting as long as you know what gravity you are in
I was wondering in the new part you added, do you plan on using shaders like the glitch effect to add more depth to it or something else in mind?
My favorite medium demon is “A Final Memorial” which uses this song so I know approximately where in the song this is and I’m really excited!
