Did you know that excel has a max limit of 65535 individual cell "colors" per workbook? Even with the image downsized to 213x120, that's still a lot of colors per frame. If I had to guess, they used a program to input the data for every pixel of a frame into one sheet, and then making a new sheet for every frame of the video, and finally flipping through every sheet like a flip book. I've seen cases where you can import the RGB data of an image into excel and create an image that way, so I assume this would be similar.

Whether there were 5 or 30 sheets open at a time it seemed to hover between 400MB and 600MB of memory use (according to task manager). It did get a little laggy at times, but I can't blame it after all the abuse
