I crocheted right along with you, I used Red Heart Classic size 10 crochet cotton and a size 7/1.65mm steel crochet hook. I love this little heart, I plan on making several more in smaller thread and a smaller hook to use as buntings to decorate the inside of a box my great granddaughter got for Christmas from me, that I partially filled with hand sewn and crocheted Barbie clothes and things I made for her dolls. I just wanted to add that a few days after valentine's day that the heart and the good morning note I gave him were still sitting by the coffee pot. I told him, knowing he doesnt like to show hes a softie, that he didnt have to keep the note and if he wanted, he could put the heart in my repurpose pile. I just noticed it's on his recliner table as his coaster 💜 little things

This design is so simple, yet perfect! I've just gotten an entire set of crochet hooks because I want to make small hearts and snowflakes with thin yarn (doily weight). I'm 66 and self taught, but I've never used the doily size yarn. My grandmother made all sorts of doilies and tablecloths, etc., but she passed when I was 7, so I'm self taught with all my needlework. I’ve recently come back to crochet after learning the basics 13 years ago. I only ever did a small rectangle after so much undoing, redoing, swearing. I was satisfied enough that I had managed that! Now I’m feeling like some mental torture and decided I would come back to crochet. I refuse to let a ball of yarn and a hook make me feel inferior! 😂 I’ve accomplished another rectangle from memory and am feeling brave! Your tuition is amazing but I still need to rewind and slow you down. I’m left handed so have to switch everything around in my brain first and my coordination is a bit fumbly but I’m going to keep trying!

Hmm potentially, however, you might loose the heart shape definition after a while 🤔 It could be worth having a play with tho!

I did it! Just began crochet a few weeks ago. My granny heart looks more like a pretzel but I did use a bulky tubular yarn (it’s easier for me). I still loves following you!
