- In a way, the Touring 2 race at the 2023 National Championship Runoffs, which took the green flag on Sunday, Oct. 1, was a David and Goliath battle. Kurt Rezzetano claimed the Tire Rack Pole in his Ford Mustang GT, but to his left was Scotty B. White in a big-displacement Dodge Viper SRT-10. Who would win the battle of torque vs. agility? Maybe neither, because chasing them was Mark Boden in a Porsche 911/997, racing legend John Heinricy in a nearly stock Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, David Sanders in a Chevrolet Corvette, and more, all wanting to claim that top step on the podium.

It’s a shame these races don’t get more recognition. I’d rather see this than most pro racing 👌
Phoenix has got the setup on Mustangs figured out at VIR. Those cars just float effortlessly around that track.
Fast S197 stick axle mustangs.
That Cadillac first lap pass in the s curves was a thing of beauty
I had the skills but never a fair chance. If I didn't lose everything to my spine being damaged when I was a kid, I would have been racing at 16yo. My whole life I had just one dream, to become the best driver in the world. What I got was 20 years of courier work because the only skills I had were driving fast. That ended 2 years ago when I got rear ended by a truck. I was stopped at a red light and the lady in the truck was watching videos on her phone and nailed my car at 65mph. I was already walking with a cane due to back pain, now I'm in a wheelchair most days. I had to give up everything, moved back into my parent's basement, gave up driving because the bumps hammer the weak spots in my spine. My life is a waking nightmare, a personal hell and I just keep waking up to more pain and less things. Had to sell my birthday present to pay a vet bill on my cats.
