  • This 3 Part Series is in response to so many of your questions. In this Part 2 - Cockpit Pre-Flight and Programming , I take a detailed look into the process I use to preflight the HondaJet Cockpit, the use of Electronic Checklists, and the Programming of the Garmin G3000. I planned and flew this flight with my buddy Steve (@ridethewomble)

      I can't get @bluemaxsix out on the course, no matter what I try. I tell you what, though - when you put clubs in the baggage compartment (hello, nose baggage on a Malibu, for example), and they just fit, I always say, "It's as if it was DESIGNED this way." @bluemaxsix is tough about this golf thing. 45 minutes outside of Richmond, I said, "we'd be hitting the IAF for Southern Pines right about now, if you golfed." No reaction. I'll keep trying.

    As reliable as touch screens have become, what happens of if that stops functioning on the G3000? Probably a far reach, but the only dumb question is the one I don't ask? This series is great. You're very articulate and make this rocket science sound simple. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to create such wonderful content.

    Really enjoyed your video. I personally haven't been current on my license since the mid eighties and find it amazing how technology has changed how you go about flying. I had acquired an instrument rating and a helicopter rating while flying a C172, C182, C206, 210, and Robinson R22 helicopter back in those days. I have always missed those days and I'm planning on buying a really nice flight simulator this year to get backup to speed on flying and using the new technology involved with flying. Your videos are really getting me excited about doing that and maybe even getting my license current again. Thanks for letting us in your life and taking all the time and effort to make the videos. I love your Honda jet!!!

    Another GREAT video, Thank you BM6. On the Start-Up, I saw you used a timer counting down for the Starter disengaging (The Green Ring around the starter going out) I have in my notes, monitor it to disengage less than N2= 45%. I think BOTH procedures work, just wondering if you every heard of it. I can't remember where I got it, I write down specific info on all the vids and articles I read on the HondaJet.

    Nice video. As an exert MSFS HondaJet Pilot (LOL), its good to see that my startup flow is correct (sort of). A word of caution for you, though. You shouldn't try MSFS because the Elite II's auto throttle is so good, it will make you head to your local Honda dealer and ask for a rather expensive upgrade. I wonder if the insurance on that airplane in real life will be cheaper with auto land. hmm...

    Wow. So interesting. It sure looks like there is a lot of studying that goes into learning to fly these aircraft.
    Not familiar with aircraft terminology (but hopefully you will understand my inquiry)... but why does the lower and upper edge of the aircraft windshield have a serrated looking edge?

    • @bluemaxsix

      Thanks - there are a lot of variables but it's funny how people who like math, puzzles, sailing,etc, all like flying too. So it's fun for me. My wife laughed when she read your question about the windows - we get that a lot. I say that it's just there to look cool. But actually it's a gold film that's a part of the windshield dicing system.

    That was really good, ,very informative.
    What exactly is the range of the jet? Can you make it to Bermuda with all required reserves coming back to the U.S. if necessary?
    And if you can make it to Bermuda, could you make it to the Azores from Bermuda?

    • @bluemaxsix
      @bluemaxsix  Год назад

      Hey thanks. This was based on the questions I get from you all. It seemed like breaking for down a flight was the best way to go at it. Soooo...range. It depends - Weather, winds, how much you load the aircraft, how high you fly, how fast, etc. BUT - the NBAA published range is 1547 nautical miles. So the answer to our Bermuda question is Yes. The issue with Bermuda is that it requires having an HF (High frequency) radio which I don't have in the jet. But Ive been there bad loved it...I'm working to find a way to fly it soon. I'll take a look at the Azores. BUT the main reason pilot's haul as much fuel to Bermuda a possible is because it's so expensive there!
