This is the best pre-flight coverage, on-board camera work, and post-flight speech and more, and narration I think I've ever seen in a fighter jet, ride-along video. As I writing this I'm reading the comments below and seeing that everyone else is saying the exact same thing and I too thought the narration must have been recorded and dubbed in -- it was too spot on with no elevated breathing sounds. which made for a better production in my opinion -- from a knowledge/education point of view. Although some live audio of the the pilot and hearing his comm would have been cool too. Excellent show!

I could get Alzheimer’s and not forget ever second of my 1 hour ride. I was at Nellis AFB Las Vegas but didn’t fly with the T-birds but we did “quick climb (straight up) to 15,000 feet and then T-bird formation maneuvers. Scared the crap out of my being that close to other aircraft just shy of Mach 1. Then we did an intercept after the other F-16 flew past us at close to 900 knots closure rate. When we turned around to chase him, we only pulled 7 G’s and that was a disgusting feeling for me but the pilot wasn’t even phased. His breathing didn’t ever change. Also, my pilot was CFI so I officially have the logbook entry on 1 hour of F-16 time as a PPL.

Steveo, let's reflect. First and foremost, the "hometown hero" moniker that was ascribed to you is an understatement. Your experiences related to aviation transitions borders. It's not simply "hometown" recognition but "global" recognition of how you enlighten viewers about aviation. Kudos and thank you.
Additionally, how many "coasties" were living vicariously through you during this flight? You were part of that elite organization. The Air Force simply allowed you, through interdepartment cooperation, to experience what they do in support of defending our borders not from the sea but from the air. As a former USCG member, you were part of that total force package. Your "ride" was well deserved. You earned it. The aviators and support team from the USAF can and should be proud of you as well. I know you were humbled; believe me, they were impressed with you as well.
Teamwork makes the dream work. Thank you for your service. After all, that GI Bill helped you to attain what you have accomplished in your aviation career. Great job.

I’m a 60 year old caa licenced aircraft engineer .
I started off in the Raf in 1981 ,the first jet I saw visiting RAF Lossiemouth was the the f-16 ,I thought man that looks so cool and futuristic like something out of Star Wars and now in the present day it still beats all the modern jets on its looks even the f35 etc .
My favourite jet of all time is the f-16 😊

I’ve been to many airshows and the thing that surprised me most was the Doppler shift of the jets as they pass. It’s as if their sound follows behind them at some distance. They literally can fly overhead and be gone before you ever hear their sound.
Also, a friend of mine gave me an autographed Thunderbirds picture like the ones in the video. It’s something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.

Awesome video! I was fortunate to go for an F-16 ride when I was stationed in Germany in the Air Force back in the early 90’s. The normal incentive flight was canceled due to weather and when I was rescheduled it was to go along on a regular training flight for the pilots. We were paired up with an F-4 and we flew over into France to take out a simulated SAM site. We did some fast low-level flying to evade radar as we got into France. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!

I know how you felt. I flew several times in the F-16, 1991-1996 because I was the SIM scheduler, and the pilots would often take me up on incentive rides. I also had just as much fun flying the SIM because many times the pilots wouldn't show up due to scheduling conflicts so I would take their blocks and fly around the dome SIM for hours at a time. I miss those days! DCS is nice, but nothing close to the real thing or even the real SIM.

As a medical professional, it can not be understated how physically FIT these Air Force Pilots / Naval Aviators are… even at the 18:18 point in the video, take a look at SteveO’s breathing patterns and hand shaking uncontrollably… vs the pilot (Primo)… Primo barely even breathing at all… that’s a level of fitness few will ever achieve. (This isn’t a dig against Steve at all… these are physically taxing maneuvers not to mention completely disorienting to untrained people). Excellent video just for that alone! But video is amazing for a whole host of reasons.

Probably also have previous flight experience where as others dont.
Maybe idk what im talking about - just seems like ive seen many flights like this and only a few people get to do all of what you did.

I nearly didn't get an Incentive ride in my 12 years in. Being in the right place at the right time played a huge role. I had to get PCS'd to Turkey and basically beg a ride with one of the Turkish test pilots. I met him at the Simulator Building that was just outside the main gate. Made friends with him and his commander. One day while I was in the simulator and they were observing new updates to the sim software, I mentioned for like the dozenth time I sure would like to take a ride in a real one while his commander was there and he was like... "sure why not? You seem to know your way around the cockpit." I had 120 hrs in the simulator by then. Next thing I know my Commander is like, "Hey, you seemed to have made an impression with the Turkish Test Squadron guys. Enjoy your ride, your going to love it!" This was back in 93-94' when we still had a remote post at Mürted Airfield. A Turkish AFB. A General Dynamics F-16 factory literally sat on the fence line of the Airfield.

Awesome to watch this! I grew up about 3 miles from the airport in Lakeland and watched the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels fly their practices and shows for many years. Before Sun N Fun, The Blues came to Lakeland for several years in the late '60s and early '70s and I would ride my bike out to the airport to see them practice. Unlike today, where hundreds of people are constantly around the planes, then the old F11 Tigers the Blues flew were sitting all by themselves after their practice flights, not a soul in sight. The Thunderbirds seemed to come over our house more often than the Blues during the shows. The turn on final at the end of this flight goes over Merchants Walk shopping center where many people watch the demonstrations. Thanks for the bird's eye view. I often wondered what the pilots saw as they flew the Lakeland shows.
