Plyometrics is one of the most efficient ways of training power output, more specifically, the velocity portion of the power equation.
Reason being that plyometrics are often done in unloaded conditions, thereby in the absence of any external resistance, allowing you to produce maximal velocity. Because obviously there is a linear relationship between external resistance and the velocity you can produce.
Another added benefit is that it helps you utilize the elastic properties of your muscles, which is another factor contributing to increased power output. Known as the SSC.
The biggest issue, however, with athletes using plyometrics, is that they are too damn slow. They approach it in the same manner as a conditioning workout. They are jumping, for the sake of jumping, not with the intention of producing maximal neuromuscular recruitment.
In this video, we will go through some very simple solutions for this issue.

Here is something so simple that works great, if you are starting out: 1kg or 2.5pounds of meat per day, limit processed sugar as much as possible, other than that limit junk food to once a week
