Also, athleticism means body coordination, look into depth in EVERY MOVEMENT, if you wanna be exceptional in your sport, that’s how you make it look effortless, core strength, hip strength, key, mobility, if it hurts when you move it then it’s weak, body coordination will make you levitate
Damn this channel is hella underrated... Came here beacuse im a boxer and i want to increase both my hand and foot speed. Found exactly what i was looking for!
@mostafa khemissi I started boxing 4 years ago. I was 200lbs at 30% body fat. 140lbs now at 16% body fat. First things first, get you eating in order. I don't mean dieting, diets are temporary. Eat protein carbs and fibre. Keep away from chocolate and foods with added sugar. Plenty of videos on RUclips to help with workouts combinations etc. It's a gradual process. Try doing steady State Cardio on the heavybag 10+ minutes to help build your tank for the harder weeks ahead. Give us an update if possible. Curious to know if you've already started. Good luck.
This is gold... World class knowledge, thanks for the sharing, this advices are good to tell those old timers who think gym training is only for body building. but may I say this is not 5 "ways", but more towards 5 "key components".
Excellent content and value, thank you for the work and the share. This is a very efficient way to improve my theorical knowlede hope i will find the better way to make that translate to the application of my sports the Volley-ball.
Well, I’ve been working out all wrong for my entire life. I have always kind of turned by mind off when I work out, but what you said for number 5, that may have held me back.
Hey everybody If you guys reading this you have to know that God loves you he will protect you trough your journey hes there for you and loves all of you with his heart ❤ I hope you have a beautifull day
Weights need to be heavy enough to overload muscles with tension, but not too much that you cannot execute the exercise properly. Reaching till failure help you recruit more muscle fibers, but make sure it’s save. The body is only going to grow, when it’s really needed - this is a survival mechanism.
first of all, thank you for your effort and sharing your knowledge! i already train very similar to your videos for years. very rare contet, specially for wrestling you give very good advice in terms of conditioning and speedtraining! @07:31you show a olympic weightliifter doing plyo exercises. there is a little longer video of this one... can you help me out? he is doing one leg side jumpms in the one i mean.... thank you!
Thanks for the kind words sir, glad you enjoy the content. The athlete you're seeing is Werner Günthör , a world-class shot-putter from the 80s. You can look him up here on youtube and you will find the video. Best of luck to you!
@@PowerTraining thank you! i ve been searching for walter for a few weaks. keep up your good work! you are the only one doing quality stuff for fighters, backed up with some sport science too. i like that :)
There is evidence to suggest isometric training helps improve the effeciency of recruitment of more fast twitch muscle fibers, and may convert some of the slow fibers into fast twitch fibers. But here you say it is impossible for your brain to recruit fast twitch fibers without fast movements. While I'd agree that fast compound movements that are activity/sport specific may help recruit the right fast twitch fibers more quickly, it may not necessarily be the best way to help the body more effectively recruit more of those fibers, which seems like something that is done when you are using those muscles at their maximum capacity to try to complete some task, which is related to the force part of the equation, as it builds strength, not the velocity. So...I think maybe that part could be said more precisely to help avoid confusion, since I'm pretty sure the meaning is still the same, you just meant to say fast movement helps you learn to recruit the right fibers more efficiently, not that it helps you learn to recruit more of those fast twitch fibers.
Considering you go maximal effort, you would probably peak the first 1-6 reps, and then, your power would significantly decrease and finally at the higher reps, it's just like endurance training for the body.
Well, this sport is way out of my area of competence. But by the looks of it, Plyometrics and velocity-training may prove productive. Along with agility and mobility obviously
You need both velocity and force to throw fast and heavy punches, honestly you need all of the above except high velocity strength imo. You dont want to weight train to often as that leads to more muscle which you dfont want as that will slow you down
Boxer here, is 5 pound weights too light for speed training? I lie down on the floor and dumbell press 5 pound weights as fast and as explosively as I can too potentially increase my punching speed or power. (my weight is 155 and my bench is 215) Im also trying to avoid getting mass.
Hey, mate. Former boxer here. I think it's way to light, not an expert tho, so take the following advice with a grain of salt. I'd find out what my maximum bench press would be, take a third of the weight away and woukd press that as fast as i can. But avoiding getting more mass, as you said, this could be not for you, if you have to stay in your weight class.
@@rigohook1160 it actually helps apparently, power lifters use really light weights and go as fast as they can just too get that extra velocity boost. Kinda like how manny pac throws combos as fast as he can too gain speed and endurance. The bench you described is good for power training and velocity training. As long as you have a low calorie diet and high protien diet you wont gain muscle but youll get stronger.

Perfect.
Good stuff did you make any specific training block videos
Hi,should we avoid training to failure when training for speed/power?
Weights need to be heavy enough to overload muscles with tension, but not too much that you cannot execute the exercise properly. Reaching till failure help you recruit more muscle fibers, but make sure it’s save. The body is only going to grow, when it’s really needed - this is a survival mechanism.
but why we should do strength and speed why just directly start doing skatches etc stuff
Amazing

What is the most important for handball
Thank you very much. Can I combine all the methods into one exercise schedule
Really clear, great video, nice man!
Damn, adding mathematics to sports. His mind is on an advanced level
Running push ups situps and speed and power and eat as much as you excersise
4:27 do i have to do all of these or just one?
Im a footballer do i need to train can i train explosive leg 3times a week
what component should a soccer player train
Great video. Do you have any information on how to do the programming of these for martial arts? Even if its paid content or something.
Should we do all exercises at the same time or should have a different session?
Are there any alternatives to olympic lifts for high velocity strength training ?
I’d say about a 2.5x body weight squat is where low velocity strength gains no longer become beneficial. Thoughts?
Thought are that I can only do my bodyweight on 1rm
It's a little different for everyone, but that sounds about right. I'm a 165lb man that can only squat 265 for my 1RM, so I've got a ways to go...
How to schedule this trainings?
What type of component is best for cricket/baseball
What’s the diff between SSC and ROFD ? I find that depth jump are in both categories
what would you recommend for throwing sports?
Great vid, but I need help on how to implement all this components in a workout can someone help?
excellent video compared to all the shiny bullshit on yt!
Components 3 is only for upper body?
can i do ppl 2 times per week one to train my strength and the other one for velocity?
what about these lightweights x 30 reps + FAST EXECUTIONS???
Considering you go maximal effort, you would probably peak the first 1-6 reps, and then, your power would significantly decrease and finally at the higher reps, it's just like endurance training for the body.
What if I'm a Chase Tag athlete? What should I go for? Plyometrics sounds scrumptious.
Well, this sport is way out of my area of competence. But by the looks of it, Plyometrics and velocity-training may prove productive. Along with agility and mobility obviously
🙏🏼
What would be the best to do for arm wrestling/ arm strength. I just do explosive pushups every night (I do take ice water bath after that too).
hi i would love to contact u to how can i ??
If you put a swing into your direction will you increase your velocity?❤
Contents are obviously great but on top of that I liked the presentation style, idk. Thanks
sprinting/speed is the most difficult to develop.
Which exercises are good for punching power in boxing?
You need both velocity and force to throw fast and heavy punches, honestly you need all of the above except high velocity strength imo. You dont want to weight train to often as that leads to more muscle which you dfont want as that will slow you down
👏
How much should you rest between sets?
Also should you do a different component each training session, week, or month?
All I heard listening to this was, "go back to crossfit" and "Spartan races"
