    Also, athleticism means body coordination, look into depth in EVERY MOVEMENT, if you wanna be exceptional in your sport, that’s how you make it look effortless, core strength, hip strength, key, mobility, if it hurts when you move it then it’s weak, body coordination will make you levitate

    • @waylow83
      @waylow83 2 года назад +3

      @mostafa khemissi I started boxing 4 years ago. I was 200lbs at 30% body fat. 140lbs now at 16% body fat. First things first, get you eating in order. I don't mean dieting, diets are temporary. Eat protein carbs and fibre. Keep away from chocolate and foods with added sugar. Plenty of videos on RUclips to help with workouts combinations etc. It's a gradual process. Try doing steady State Cardio on the heavybag 10+ minutes to help build your tank for the harder weeks ahead. Give us an update if possible. Curious to know if you've already started. Good luck.

    This is gold... World class knowledge, thanks for the sharing, this advices are good to tell those old timers who think gym training is only for body building.
    but may I say this is not 5 "ways", but more towards 5 "key components".

    Hi,should we avoid training to failure when training for speed/power?

    • @tptonypham2323
      @tptonypham2323 3 года назад +2

      Weights need to be heavy enough to overload muscles with tension, but not too much that you cannot execute the exercise properly. Reaching till failure help you recruit more muscle fibers, but make sure it’s save. The body is only going to grow, when it’s really needed - this is a survival mechanism.

  • @singularity-
    @singularity- 4 дня назад

    There is evidence to suggest isometric training helps improve the effeciency of recruitment of more fast twitch muscle fibers, and may convert some of the slow fibers into fast twitch fibers. But here you say it is impossible for your brain to recruit fast twitch fibers without fast movements. While I'd agree that fast compound movements that are activity/sport specific may help recruit the right fast twitch fibers more quickly, it may not necessarily be the best way to help the body more effectively recruit more of those fibers, which seems like something that is done when you are using those muscles at their maximum capacity to try to complete some task, which is related to the force part of the equation, as it builds strength, not the velocity. So...I think maybe that part could be said more precisely to help avoid confusion, since I'm pretty sure the meaning is still the same, you just meant to say fast movement helps you learn to recruit the right fibers more efficiently, not that it helps you learn to recruit more of those fast twitch fibers.

    Boxer here, is 5 pound weights too light for speed training? I lie down on the floor and dumbell press 5 pound weights as fast and as explosively as I can too potentially increase my punching speed or power. (my weight is 155 and my bench is 215) Im also trying to avoid getting mass.

    • @rigohook1160
      @rigohook1160 Год назад

      Hey, mate. Former boxer here. I think it's way to light, not an expert tho, so take the following advice with a grain of salt. I'd find out what my maximum bench press would be, take a third of the weight away and woukd press that as fast as i can. But avoiding getting more mass, as you said, this could be not for you, if you have to stay in your weight class.

    • @acts9835
      @acts9835 Год назад +1

      @@rigohook1160 it actually helps apparently, power lifters use really light weights and go as fast as they can just too get that extra velocity boost. Kinda like how manny pac throws combos as fast as he can too gain speed and endurance. The bench you described is good for power training and velocity training. As long as you have a low calorie diet and high protien diet you wont gain muscle but youll get stronger.
