What kind of fool gives this man a thumbs down? Saw him and his boys play with Sting years ago. That was my gateway to Jazz
Exactly who couldn't love this music.
My parents were big into jazz so I was blessed with having an amazing record collection to experience as a kid and has been my main stay for life.
May he rest in peace.
Thanks for being part of the soundtrack for my life.

Rest in paradise! Your legacy lives on!
Ellis was and still is, the great Jazz player.
His music talks for him, so much feeling until the end. Rest in peace.
RIP Ellis...
Part of my 'homework' when I married my New Orleans based hubby in 2008..three years after Katrina, was to listen to the music from here...how lucky I was to hear Mr. Marsalis. We now make our home on Jackson Square in the French Quarter. I was sad to hear of his passing. But honored to have been able to listen and learn about him...what a jazz giant.
So long, Ellis... Today it's only your music until the sun falls.
My heart is breaking.
Thank you for your time here Sir. You will be missed. Heaven pulled up a great one last night. RIP.
Though I love Wynton, I didn't know about Ellis. Wish I'd known about him while he was still alive cuz this is my kind of jazz. RIP Ellis. Give C-19 hell!
RIP to a jazz great and a great family man.

My heart breaks.
peace to da OG!
Rest well jazzmaster
Saw him in Nola, snugg harbor just after Katrina. Closed my eyes and saw a river of images - creatures, curios, cartoons . . . like I was tripping. He was a mighty conjurer. An angel. A spaceman . God bless his sweet soul.
Regrettably-
when I listen to the shlock "jazz piano" that comes thieving in on Spotify, I could just ralph.
The kids today . . . have lost the incidental way What do they play? Nothing. Always behind the beat - late for the bus that nobody's driving. Pedal noise craked up like it's in the band .
Jazz of the looted house.
Another great joins the band at the Pearly Gates.
RIP, Ellis.
Rest in peace Ellis
RIP sir.

His music tells that he owns The Keys to Heaven
R.I.P.
This coronavirus is taking out a lot of people worldwide, including great musicians. Yesterday it was Manu Dibango, today its Ellis Marsalis. And all because someone thousands of miles away ate a bat for lunch. RIP.
No one ate a bat!
@@chrisb183 Well someone did eat an infected bat. US and UK scientists have proved this without doubt. However I don't blame bats; they are magnificent animals and are immensely useful as insect eaters and pollinators. No, I blame the freaking stupid humans that are keeping them, along with pigs, chickens, bears, pangolins, etc in tiny cages, stacked on top of one another, in freaking wet markets. On top of being cruel and inhumane, it is essentially a perfect way to promote viral mutations and cross-speciation... I won't name the country that still have, and promote, that horrible practice but let's just say it rhymes with China
RIP

It hurts less when the elderly pass as we know they already did what they came to earth to do.
Luigi X yeah no, it doesn’t. It just means they didn’t mean anything to you.
RIP Mestre
